   They are tone deaf. LibLefty agitprop propaganda is more like it. Journalism died decades ago

   1. Steve H, your question and your use of the phrase “gets from” implies that Trudeau and the Star are seprate entities. As far as I can discern, each have their tongues so far up each other’s fundament that it’s impossible to tell where one starts and the other begins.

   Much of their traffic comes from social media. If it becomes more difficult or costly to view, they’ll lose what little readership they have.

8. How do you square your opinions of legacy media with the job the G&M and Global have done breaking the chicom influence story? It wasn’t any of the social media startups that had anything on the chicoms.

   I don’t like the fact that these players are getting taxpayer money to keep them operating any more than anybody else but they are still breaking stories that are important to Canadians.

   1. When they choose to. And then only what they want you to know. It’s the spoonful of sugar thesis.

It’s combo of (i) the broken clock analogy, (ii) the concept of a “controlled opposition” and – most likely the largest factor here by a sizable margiin – (iii) the fact that certain members of the Laurentian “matrix” are leaking this informmation for their own purposes to their own legacy media partners, and the MSM, whose biggest bias is – still – to scandal are merely reprinting this. Having said that, I’m pleasantly surpised that the MSM, esp the Grope and Fail has gone as far as it has. Someone must really be mad at Justin!

   3. It’s not like they are going for the jugular. The stories are coming out in a “Oh, by the way…There, see? We’re not biased” type of fashion.

9. Well, at least the stand with the Ukraine folk will be happy. I remember them clapping like trained seals when DuckDuckGo said they would suppress Russian “disinformation.”

10. The tech giants should block TorStar for a week and see what happens… I think their biggest complaint is that they aren’t getting all of the ad revenue, because YouGooTwitFace gets a bigger cut.

11. Torstar? I can’t count how many small newspapers they took over or shut down in the 1990s. Torstar was itself probably the biggest killer of journalism in Canada, exception only for internet killing off classified advertising. I long for the day when #1 Yonge Street had been reduced to a one-story outhouse.
