  1. Best to get home and stay safe as fast and dangerously as you can :)..
My theory is the high end cars and trucks with snow tires are able to keep the flow of traffic fast during snow storms.. Junkers, clunkers with half bald all season tires are enticed to keep up with the flow..

Everybody can lose it with enough speed.. The high tech stuff and tires works better to get you going than it does stopping your vehicle..
Find that out the hard way..

  2. MN Governor Walz called out the MN NG and declared a peace time emergency for the storm. Two things he delayed and delayed after George Floyd’s death.

George Floyd died on Memorial Day Monday. Democrat Governor Walz finally stopped the riots, looting and arson on Saturday Morning by calling out the entire freaking 14,000 MN NG, every game warden, correctional officer, and anyone else with a badge and gun. By Saturday? The riots had spread to every major Democrat run city. How bad? On Sunday May 31, 2020, Chicago had 18 murders in one day. A lot of other cities were almost as bad.

In Minnesota? After they called out the guard? The riots stopped. There were lots of arrests on Saturday, but peaceful protests occurred every day for weeks and weeks.

  3. Interesting watching those people finishing the Interstate.
#1 : notice how many of the spin-outs involved trucks.
#2 : notice how many were single vehicle accidents – nobody else to blame?
#3 : looks like people were driving too fast in every accident.
I was driving down Highway 11 toward Barrie, ON, yesterday and there was a single car that had smashed front-first into a guard-rail on a straight stretch of bare highway. How can you even do that?

    1. Interstates are terrible for people driving too fast in winter conditions. I suspect half are out of state/out of element drivers. We overnighted in Spokane last February, and it rained lightly before morning. For the first 10 miles heading west on the I-90, there were cars in the ditch on every curve. Too fast.

      1. I am now 71, have been driving since the age of 16. I still shake my head at the number of people who do not maintain their vehicles, who drive too fast for the weather conditions and do not have good tires on their vehicles. Oh well, “the stupid is strong”.
