Professors William McNally and David Millard Haskell have written an important editorial directed at all Canadian universities:
It’s one thing to make unsubstantiated claims of systemic racism, but making claims that fly in the face of the evidence is tantamount to propaganda. But false claims are precisely what a diversity administrator adduced last month at the University of Waterloo.
On Jan. 27, the university’s vice-president of equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism, Dr. Christopher Taylor, issued a public statement condemning the death of Tyre Nichols. Like George Floyd, Nichols was a Black American who died at the hands of police. Also, like Floyd, there was graphic video evidence.
But a key difference was left out of Taylor’s account — he failed to mention that Nichols’ assailants were five Black police officers. This first omission was a hint of what was to come: Taylor did not intend to let “truth get in the way of a good story.”

The Jury were warned that any verdict that wasn’t guilty would publish the addresses of them by the Mainstream Media on their own narrative that didn’t include any other evidence that would normally have a not guilty verdict.
We live in a world of propaganda, schools, universities, the government, medicine, law, you name it. Without courage you will never overcome the crap. People have to stand up and kick the system where it hurts.
Consider this and then wonder while so many Canadians are complacent.
Jonathon Bryant said this … and it’s right on.
Why should this surprise anyone?
Try speaking about MrNA being useless and dangerous.
Try speaking out about the excess death rates over the last 2 years.
Try speaking out about basic biology
Try speaking out about our corrupt Liberal government and its leader
Try speaking out about Canada signing over our health to the WHO
Try speaking out about Canada’s racist policies towards white people
Try speaking out about Canadian women being erased over gender squabbles
Try speaking out about Canadian ties to the WEF and their bond villain style plans for western government under the guise of climate change
Try speaking out about the absurdity of climate change aka global warming
Try speaking out about the sudden fires at food processing plants and explosions, train de-railments almost every day
There is nothing surprising about our free speech being pounded into the ground. The totalitarian terms are already being used.
Misinformation, Disinformation
This is history repeating itself.
Anyone here in Canada immigrated from a communist / socialist state can clearly tell you exactly what is happening.
WAKE UP
Remember when the Cambodians snuffed all of their intellectuals right down to people who simply wore glasses? I always wondered what that was all about.
Arty ghost, the “church” proclaimed the number of the beast 666, to vilify math, and by extension science. Authoritarians hate competition, and that’s it in a nutshell.
What need is there for a ‘vice-president of equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism’ anywhere? Certainly no value added.
It is just to pretend that the organisation is kosher with the current woke trend. Maybe they get more money from gov or from idiot kids going into ‘equity’ studies.
I fail to see their problem.
These Universities themselves are a bigger lie, than the Moelings within.
Why do they care if another lying race baiter is running lose?
It is far too late to save the institution.
The only discussion is, over who gets to apply the match?
Currently, having “evidence of graduation” from these Useless Credential Mills is reason to avoid hiring.
Say nice things and make your excuses, hoping it will go away and hasten the destruction of some competitors business.
We currently have more hope hiring a bum from the Salvation Army kitchen, that they will learn to perform useful tasks, than having to re-educate a Modern University Grad.
Currently, having “evidence of graduation” from these Useless Credential Mills is reason to avoid hiring.
I’m an alumni of the institution in the article and when interviewing I ensure to specify when I got my degree, as the reputation of U(W) has cratered in recent years. Even its engineering and math/computer science programs are a shadow of what they once were.
Unfortunately, I can’t give them any less money than I already do; I stopped donating years ago when this bollocks first started creeping in.
Taylor is a fascist. That’s all there is to say. A lying fascist….but then are there any other kinds? No doubt he was an “equity” hire. Just another useless grifter
Universities have not been promoting “Truth” since the mid-1970s. It took until the 2000s for the rot to go mainstream, and it didn’t really take off until ~2012.
Now we’ve had 10 full years of the freakshow that has been percolating in Academia since 50 freakin’ years ago.
At some point people will wise up and stop sending Junior to Indoctrination Camp, it is my hope that will be in the next five years or so. My fear is that it just keeps going and getting worse until somebody lights a match in the powder magazine. I do not want to be stuck cleaning up after that.
At some point, people will realise much of university education is an expensive waste.
Go STEM or trade or go home.
We have to re-think how we educate and train people. This woke garbage simply doesn’t count.
STEM is going woke. You should hear the Woke baffle-gab coming out of McMaster University medical school these days. You’ll sprain your eyes from rolling them so hard.
U Waterloo Engineering, same thing. More Woke is more better-er. At some point they will start grading strictly on skin colour. That’s the way they’re going.
When I entered U(W) Engineering in 1991, shortly after the Montreal Massacre meant that engineering universities all over Canada that were not Concordia mysteriously had to atone for something that happened at Concordia, ~30% of the freshman chem eng class was women[1]. Nearly all of them were there on full-ride scholarships. All but three of them transferred out after first year to easier programs, having gotten a free year of tuition in a program they had no intention of graduating from.
When I checked back twenty years later, after two decades of scholarships, mentoring programs, Women In Engineering booster clubs and sexual harassment training, the percentage of women in first year chem eng was…~22%. The ratio had been steadily and monotonically declining since 1991.
That was just the tip of the iceberg. It’s gotten so much worse since.
[1] Adult human females. Just so we’re clear.
I attended U-Waterloo graduation last year. For a laugh I counted white kids, black kids and women getting degrees.
Out of the whole convocation, less than 20 white kids. Less than five (5) black kids. Women, all races, maybe 35-40. White women, 2. One was a Russian chick getting a PhD. Zero black women. Zero Canadian Aboriginals.
Everybody else, Chinese and Indian (from India, to be absolutely clear.) Additionally, very few Sikhs.
Mostly foreign students, not Canadians, to put a sharper point on it. As in, more than half.
On the whole, given that this is a Canadian school in Southern Ontario, which is pretty much solid white except parts of Toronto/Mississauga/Brampton, I call bullshit.
But, and this is the really scary part, every other decent university in Ontario is the same. Preponderance of foreign students from China, whose families also own a hefty fraction of the local condos and single family homes. In case you were wondering why houses are going for over a million bucks each in Kitchener/Waterloo, that’s one of the big reasons. And Toronto, Hamilton, etc.
Bottom line, Canada is educating the kids of rich Chinese families, kids who were too dumb to get into school in China. Instead of our own kids.
And don’t get me started about Canadian high schools not preparing kids for university, it is far too depressing. A kid graduating Grade 12 with marks of 80% flounders in first year because they don’t know anything. That’s got to be deliberate.
I wouldn’t call that STEM but regressivism.
Once upon a time in the 1990s I got in hot water for using the term “crippling injury” to describe something that landed the patient in a wheelchair. (You can imagine my response. 1000 words on the progression of bowdlerization in medical language. I found a way to work “cripple” into every subsequent paper.)
These days you literally can’t say “pregnant woman” or some pearl-clutcher will have a conniption. I sometimes think of signing up for a few courses just to watch them froth and bite the carpeting when I refuse to play along.
Another example of somebody that went to school for a long time and in fact never left it.
Got a completely meaningless job.
Though you can give him a good mark for bullshit, since there is no real, actual problem, the guy can create one out of nothingness.
It is what he studied for, to wrap it up in complete, sophisticated nonsense and get well paid for it.
What a country, hey.
No big deal … because “reparations” will solve everything. If every majority-white nation simply transfers its wealth to BIPOCs … then everything will be forgiven and will be “solved”. Right?
Well … until the BIPOCs piss thru all their funds … and then demand white people be enslaved to permanently pay their way in life. In fact, the city of San Francisco “reparations committee” has already done that. Not only did they call for a multi-million dollar “reparation” … they’ve called for ONGOING yearly payments along with cancellation of all student loans and credit card debt.

What the Party holds to be the truth, is truth.
Ask liberals why you would want to be a racist.
What’s in it for you?
Their answers contain a lot of projection.
DEI administrators have a problem; there is virtually no sign of overt racism on Canadian campuses.
How then to justify their fat salaries and soft jobs? By gaslighting us into believing that society is a seething caldron of hate, prejudice, and oppression.
Universities in Canada are a disgrace. They are puppy mills and propagandists. They are not schools but a huge industry run by tenured marxists on our dime.
We really could shut most of them down in Canada. They provide very little value to the cl7ents, the tax payers or socirty. They have become another method of Ottawa redistributing tax dollars similiar to equalization.
Example why does PEI population 140,000 a town basically or small city have 2 universities and 2 trade or tech schools. And all filled with foreign students
