The greenies’ dream of “clean” (except for millions of dead birds) energy from wind farms is dying in the face of the poor economics (even with tax subsidies) and unreliable technology. The big players in constructing wind turbines are facing massive losses and write-downs and cancelling big offshore wind projects. Brace yourself for demands for even more subsides to the failing industry.
The green energy subsidiary of German electrical equipment giant Siemens just reported Thursday that it lost nearly a billion dollars in the last quarter.
I know I posted this last week, but it feels good to give it a second kick.

I think that this is called a schadenhard. Unfortunately, it will be short lived. We all will pay for it eventually. Either through subsidies from the tax base, infrastructure renewal/expansion costs, or, most likely, a diminished life style.
It gets better.

“can’t be recycled” is the wrong phrasing. They “won’t be recycled” because the cost is too high
Somebody needs to send all these press releases to David Dodge over at CKUA-FM here in Alberta. He’s an erstwhile Pembina Institute policy wonk who hosts a little mini-cast all the time on CKUA, said ‘cast being an absolutely stunningly bad take on the enviro industry in Alberta and elsewhere. All the other woke crap I can put up with, but his stuff’s just blindingly ignorant (particularly on the economics), and I’ve finally gone the blunt-force route of muting the station whenever he’s pontificating.
Screw the manners. Time for a whole lot of in your faces “I told you so!’ to the plethora of imbeciles that walk amongst us. Rationality works not with them. How about some bad breath, spittle flying dressing downs? Tempered by the fact as taxpayers we will continue to get the shaft
Words are pointless.
Its time for pointy things.
guys, how do we send tips??
anywho, here it is….
Migrants abandon NYC for Canada with taxpayer-funded bus tickets
Disgruntled migrants fed up with the Big Apple’s crime and grime are taking off to the Great White North — on bus rides paid for by New York taxpayers, The Post has learned.
National Guard soldiers have been helping distribute tickets at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan to migrants who want to head upstate before crossing into Canada, several migrants said
are they in for a rude awakening or what?
Alberta used to do that with welfare cases, gave them a ticket to BC.
Sure, but B.C.’s not in a different country. I think.
If you think Siemens is suffering, they just wanted to make a buck, and failed. Think of all the poor slobs who bought that junk, and thought they could get even a mediocre return in terms of energy from them.
Wind and solar are only useful at the micro scale, in rural areas, where the people who use it also own their own storage equipment.
They were farming subsidies and government graft in the form of guaranteed tariff contracts, with all the profits they thought they could get away with front loaded, and many of the costs back loaded… (see also companies offering “Free Solar to Home Owners”)
I’d be interested to find out which company was underwriting their Product Warranty Insurance, and how much the losses were.

Green Fail: Dozens of Scottish Wind Turbines Powered by Diesel Generators, Pour Hydraulic Oil Into Countryside

They are: low density energy systems with no significant life-cycle return on energy while necessarily subsidized and parasitizing the grids; monuments to political virtue signaling and energy ignorance; a waste of fossil fuel inputs; haywire contraptions; and, a blight on the landscape and a hazard to flying creatures. Other than that they are ok, I guess.
“no significant life-cycle return on energy”
You’re probably right, but, for some reason, neither the pro side nor the con side are willing to give we the people actual numbers, the real data, which suggests to me that both sides are playing fast and loose with the truth.
The Greentard zealots don’t care about the financial cost of anything.
“If it saves just one life!” Greentards believe THEIR cause is a life and death struggle, cuz we’re all gonna die from (blank) if we don’t do what they dictate, because devastating/crisis/catastrophe/tipping point event of their choice.
The e-bike battery zealots are the same.
If you are scared of stuff, you should FO.
“The e-bike battery zealots are the same.”
You do go on, don’t you? Asked & answered.
Banning things that work so you can hand monopolies to your friends?.. That’s some tin pot dictatorship scht..
We laughed at Venezuela when they nationalized their oil production and handed it over to communist cronies.. We were Amazed when Africa nationalized their farming to hand it over to peasants / communist cronies..
Failure.. 2/3rds off the top.. We are doing exactly the same thing.. Problem is its not funny anymore..
If I get the wind energy industry correct, the Federal Government provides subsidies to the manufacturers who then go in and sell their products to companies that have negotiated “special” electricity rates with municipalities. The manufacturers are losing money and their sales are drying up plus the companies distributing the power will need higher rates (“subsidies”) to stay in business.
And we need to end subsidies to the fossil fuel industry.
