The amazing thing is that he has made an entire career of being utterly and completely incompetent.
There’s a sucker born every minute.
Thomas Malthus did the same schtick in the eighteenth century and he’s arguably even more famous and celebrated now.
I hope Paul Ehrlich lives to be 357 years old so he can spend centuries watching just how wrong he will always be. Keep digging that hole. This is why I am a free speech absolutist. I enjoy watching people manufacture the rope that will be used in their (metaphorical) hanging.
The media will elevate bullshit into something profound and the audience seems to swallow it whole.
I just got a visual of the leftist circle jerk started by this nonagenarian… nothing but olllllllld, saggy, balls … still flaccid despite their most vigorous efforts
People who are concerned about over-population NEVER take one for the team “Just enough of me, way too many of thee.”
Let me guess … this 90yo FAILure of a eco-megatrend prognosticator was flown by Al Gore’s private jet from his spacious Santa Barbara mansion to the NYC offices of 60 minutes … because … he is doing the eco-prophet work of Al Gore. Ohhhhhhh Mommmaaaa … humanity is headed for extinction. Ohhhhh Mommmaaaa … it would take 5 earths to supply the 1st world needs of 8 Billion people. Ohhhhhh Mommmmaa … slip on your NIKE trainers and join Paul Ehrlich’s mass suicide.

Join Paul’s new world order on Mars! And if you’re Mormon … your planet may differ.
Nicely put.
One good thing about being older is that you’ve heard it all. And I’ve listened to doom sayers since the 1960s, with books such as Silent Spring and The Limits To Growth. It’s always fashionable to believe them. To question them makes you look naive and unsophisticated. Optimism is seldom trendy.
But the world isn’t cooperating. Things just seem to get better, with global poverty rates falling and life expectancies rising. Sure there’s lots of hiccups on the way, but each decade seesm better than the last.
“We’re all gonna die,” always sells.
and always happens to everyone.
Not for Zuckerberg! Just LOOK at him … he’s only half-human now.
It’s been happening for centuries…

“Malthusianism has attracted criticism from diverse schools of thought, including Georgists, Marxists, socialists, libertarians, free market enthusiasts, feminists and human rights advocates, characterizing it as excessively pessimistic, misanthropic or inhuman.”
(When your idea has such a diverse array of opponents maybe its time for a re-think)

What the self-proclaimed elites always leave out is the word “other.”
There are too many Other people on the planet.
Other people use too many fossil fuels.
Other rich people should pay higher taxes.
Other…..you get the drift.
Actions prove sincerity. If someone with a Godzilla-sized carbon footprint lectures you about global warming, feel free to look elsewhere for advice.
Ehrlich knows he’s wrong and he knows he will not be called on it, he knows what he preaches is foundational for the building of a totalitarian society on earth, and that is and was his goal.
He has passed the torch to many and they have picked it up willingly and vigorously, and this is an homage designed to pull more into this evil.
They know precisely what they do.
Ehrlich should step off the earth, and take Soros and Schwab with him.
… says a man whose predictions were constantly wrong.
If he was as wrong in Vegas as he was everywhere else, I dare say he would be pushing up the cactus in the Mojave Desert.
As a creature of green theocracy, Ehrlich has been wrong on every hysterical prediction but never kicked to the curb because he was on the in crowd side. I recall seeing the head of the Sierra Club fawning all over him despite his being unmoored from reality. It’s no different than Dementia Joe being the darling of the media. Ehrlich may not be a tribal chief but he is perfectly acceptable as a tribal witch doctor because it’s the tribal goals that are important. Today’s in crowd tribe is the anti-industrial revolution and the conscious agenda of impoverishing and eliminating humanity described by other words. That tribe only resonates in the developed world where capitalism and access to energy has enabled prosperity which led to complacency and sloth and now, cultural and economic nihilism.
“This species has amused itself to death…” – Roger Waters, 1992 (another famous misanthrope)
I won’t mention the fact that we are again discussing a marxist Joooooo!
And I won’t read anything by never Trumper Treach!
Incorrect.
Not even the Marxists are stupid enough to fall for this crap…
“Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels argued that Malthus failed to recognize a crucial difference between humans and other species. In capitalist societies, as Engels put it, scientific and technological “progress is as unlimited and at least as rapid as that of population”. Marx argued, even more broadly, that the growth of both a human population in-toto and the “relative surplus population” within it, occurred in direct proportion to accumulation.”

When a 30 year old makes the same assertion, I ask the same questions. How many is too many? What’s the right amount? Which particular people are too many? Are you one of too many or do you give yourself a pass?
Anyone making this assertion should kill themselves. Period.
Well, ape girl Jane Goodall ,at the W E F, said that 500,000 is the right number. That’s people, not apes. She did not volunteer to be the first to save the planet,
