    1. My wife is 70 and does not want to stop working. It is up to her as long as she is physically and mentally able.

        Same goes for my wife (64) and myself @ 70.
        She works for the largest home builder in Calgary – TRICO Homes (one the top 500 Companies in Canada), and I’m on a 7/7 at Suncor Fort Hills. Same thing, as long as we remain healthy, why the hell not..??

      2. Buddy, you’re right, that is not surprising. I know people who retired from working at a national park. Their drug and dental plan in retirement is better than anything I have had working. Talk about a two-tier health care system…and a two-tier retirement system. City of Calgary workers always seem to retire young as well.

        In European hotels, I seem to recall the second floor rooms are actually on the third floor.

        The floors go 0, 1, 2, 3, etc

        1. Joe, I recall that luxury hotels in the UK came with well appointed rooms with single beds…for only £250 per night. Unless it snowed amd closed the airport then a flea bag hotel with dirty carpets was £350 per night.

        2. some spanish buildings the 1st floor is the third floor , the lower two floors were stable. horses and hayloft. grd, atrium , 1st floor. you can tell with the 15 ft doors.

      Our hospitals are rapidly becoming killing fields, as health care is “rationed” for only the healthy. The sick are put to death to save on costs.

      NO IT DOES NOT!!! Life is precious. Each life is unique, and cannot be replace. We pay for our health services through our taxes. WE DO NOT PAY to be offed by the medical community, who put themselves ABOVE THE WILL OF GOD.

      WE CANNOT ACCEPT THIS! IT’S MORALLY UNJUSTIFYABLE, and some would say corrupt. It definitely goes against natural law.

      1. Fc – there is no doubt they intend and plan to save a lot more. There is billions spent in the last 3 years they have not even accounted for. 8 billion was sent to various countries last year to foreign countries, often for very dubious programs. There should be no mistaking theirv intentions. We are now in a fight for our very existence.

        1. Libs will soon introduce an estate or inheritance tax to capture a new stream of revenue from the people that are being snuffed to save on that costly end-of-life care.

    The Bail Project calls the shut-down “an ongoing recalibration” as part of their “mission to end cash bail and create a more just, equitable, and humane pretrial system.”

  21. For Christmas … I got my son in law a new cartridge for his Wilson Benesch turntable with Act 2 tonearm. I found him a NOS Benz Micro Ace High Output MC cartridge for a good price. The micro glider model is a little out of my Christmas budget …

    The first lp I spun to test and start breaking in his cartridge was a test pressing of Built to Spill – Cortez the Killer It sounded fantastic! And the amount of sonic information on that lp is unreal. The tightly compacted grooves with all that high pitch 3-guitar sound is a tough test for any cartridge. But the micro ace uses a nude, mirror-polished, line-contact stylus. The micro size and shape of the line contact stylus really digs the high range sonics out of the grooves.
