    1. Many years ago, it was not uncommon for journalists to make up stories and these would be published in the newspaper. At that time it was a matter of survival– lots of competition as there were dozens of newspapers in some bigger cities. You had to keep it entertaining. Mark Twain was brilliant at it, and some of his outlandish stories created quite a public upoar. I guess they have gone back to making up the news, but forgot about the entertaining part.

    1. Because, FU, isn’t good enough? These are all well-intentioned, but ultimately futile, efforts to be reasonable with people who are simply and pointedly unreasonable. They do not care about, nor understand, empirical facts & figures. A simple slap upside the head will register more than a tome of peer-reviewed research.

        That’s true. We can no longer depend on government and other decisions being based on rational thinking.

      2. Our governments haven’t been reasonable at all. As a result though, the majority of the public has seemed to enjoy being abused, all in the name of safety.

        Stockholm syndrome, or, a weak, feminized society that expects the Nanny State to know better and look after their weak little souls? I tend to believe the latter is true.
        And I have no faith in governments or their intentions, they are ideological zealots who will state any lie necessary, a means to their ends

      There is no grinding success. Russia has been tossing cannon fodder at Bakhmut since the middle of summer. Russian losses at times are 8x higher than Ukrainian in the area. They gain land then lose it shortly after.

      Combined arms aren’t something you just do. These are NATO tactics that take years of training. Russian doctrine has been the opposite of combined arms since and including ww2.

      This shows how desperate Russia is. Ukraine has focused on the long term which includes joining NATO. Their soldiers take longer to train.

      Meanwhile Russia is forcing prisoners to sign up. Even people who commit murder will be pardoned after 6 months. But they never make it. Many have been sent straight to the Bakhmut meat grinder. Sometimes even without guns. Russia has been sending their trainers to the war. They sent their elite anti-NATO unit which was routed. They sent their nuclear missile forces to the slaughter

      The entire article actually reeks of propaganda. The good kind. The same kind that convinced Russia that Ukraine was going to attack Kherson, but instead took Kharkiv in a rout.

    2. Thanks Enema69, I’ve bee reading gatewaypundit for entrainment ever since the Siberian Mongols invaded Ukraine. It is always the opposite day there. The article is about as devoid of content as you are (i.e. pure vacuum between the ears).

      Meanwhile here is a nice titbit about mobilization: one of the reasons fresh recruits are being sent into meat grinder is because there is not enough training facilities for them. Literarily that. They called in all those fresh troops in mobilization for a shock offensive in the spring and about half of them have no room in the barracks. So they’re in tents, old fashion style (the nice tents with heated floors (work about 50% of the time) went to Serb mercenaries and to Wagners). And they are spending them battalion at the time. Since they have no room to house them they may as well sent them to the front. Especially that keeping them in tents longer only means that more will die from pneumonia mixed with Tuberculosis and Wuhan flu.
