Tis The Fashion Nowadays

Of weak, woke, western governments to scrape together a “threat” and elevate it as a warning to the political opposition.

Twenty-five people have been arrested in raids across Germany on suspicion of plotting to overthrow the government. […]

An estimated 50 men and women are alleged to have been part of the group, said to have plotted to overthrow the republic and replace it with a new state modelled on the Germany of 1871 – an empire called the Second Reich.

“We don’t yet have a name for this group,” said a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor’s office. The interior minister said it was apparently made up of an organisation “council” and a military arm.

Wednesday’s dawn raids are being described as one of the biggest anti-extremism operations in modern German history. Three thousand officers took part in 150 operations in 11 of Germany’s 16 states, with two people arrested in Austria and Italy.

Almost half of arrests took place in southern states of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

Sure, whatever.

  1. Hmm, seems to me there are other groups who plot to overthrow the government. That would be the CPC, the NDP, and the Greens in their wildest dreams. I guess they’ll all be rounded up next as threats to Justin’s regime.

    1. Sorry, Grok, must disagree. None of the aforementioned revolutionary extremist groups, AKA political opposition parties, have shown any desire to oppose or propose legislation or other measures. The PPC is our opposition, oh, and the Albert Provincial government.

JUST IN – German raids target “Reichsbürger” group who allegedly plotted to overthrow the government.

Over 3000 police officers detained 25 people.

    Mmm. Reichsbürgers.

    1. Update:

#BREAKING German Prince Heinrich XIII Reuss of Greiz was arrested this morning suspected of planning a coup d’état in Germany with at least 24 other people

The plan was to attack the German parliament in Berlin and insert the Prince as new head of state, King/Emperor of [German flag]

  3. Wow. 3000 officers, 150 operations in 11 states to arrest 25 people who apparently threatened to replace the entire apparatus of the federal German government. And we are supposed to believe this bullshit? 25 old white men? Maybe one of them was wearing a buffalo horn hat? Meanwhile thousands of Islamic immigrants kill Germans everyday with the avowed aim of replacing the state with sharia law and they do nothing about , having been enabled by the ex stazi-youth chancellor.

      1. No mention that 23 of 25 arrested were actually undercover German BND agents.

  4. “Three thousand officers took part in 150 operations in 11 of Germany’s 16 states, with two people arrested in Austria and Italy. ”

Given that there were 25 arrests, does that mean 125 of those operations were to extract the state’s spies and agent provocateurs?

    1. These “field-ready” soldiers should engage the Russian army directly, given that success rate.

    1. Thanks for the link, Stan. It would appear that the Liberals and Democrats are still trading policies in governance. The Democrats in the States have this practice honed to a fine art, as we have explicitly seen since Obama was in power. The Democrats used the January 6 protest to infiltrate provocateurs into the protest and then used the police to gin up and inflame the situation. That was easy to accomplish because all the provocateurs needed to do was put on a MAGA hat, here in Canuckistan it was much more difficult. It is extremely hard if not down right impossible to find a Liberal that has the mental ability and prowess to drive an eighteen wheeler. Even the cops used to gin up the situation needed help from a four legged animal.

      1. Look, my disdain for Liberals exceeds their idiocy, but if they are so stupid, why do they run everything?

Why is the Stupid Loser Party the exact image of the Conservative Party in every way?

        Always has been.

        1. if they are so stupid, why do they run everything?

Historically, the Liberals were not any stupider than the average stupid Canadian, but from the King regime on, the Liberals became the party of the technocrat and apparatchik. These types are not necessarily stupider than average but they have become increasingly more detached from the workaday world, and so are much less sensible and realistic, and more ideological and doctrinaire, than the average person. The current throne holder of the Trudeau dynasty is arguably stupider than average, but seems to possess the above-average cunning and duplicity of the average sociopath. He’s not interested in details or organization unless it’s absolutely necessary, so it’s safe to say he’s not actually running anything; he’s content with being the centre of attention as a super-celebrity figurehead.

To answer your question, why do they run everything, it’s a chicken and egg problem. It’s hard to say which came first, but the Liberals always run everything, just because they do in fact run everything. As Harper said in an election campaign before becoming PM, (paraphrasing), “if people are concerned that I would do something as PM that would upset the applecart, there is an entire deep political structure from the judiciary, the corporations, the bureaucracy, and the media complex that would stop me in a heartbeat.” Yes, he was absolutely correct, and that is the secret to Liberal power, even when the party isn’t “in government” at any particular moment.

    1. The guys who wear silly shorts and slap their shoes while dancing? Only the Bavarians could turn a humiliating punishment into a national dance. Seriously this news piece has the same smell as the one where the Iranians are suspending their morality police. Who is making this stuff up and why?

  5. Oh my, those terrible evil extreme right wingers, being arrested by those ever so compassionate communist tyrants. I guess the followers of islam are no longer a threat.

  6. Almost half of arrests took place in southern states of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

This story is even weirder considering the (historical) southern kingdoms of Württemberg and Bavaria were reluctant to join Prussia’s Empire…they had been members of a confederacy of southern German states that were historically aligned with Austria, not Prussia. To induce Württemberg and Bavaria Bismark had to bribe both kingdoms, and they retained some measure of independence within the empire.

  7. // he (historical) southern kingdoms of Württemberg and Bavaria were reluctant to join Prussia’s Empire //

Maybe they remembered their previous unfortunate experience:
Under French control, the German states were reorganized:…
a number of mid-sized states which had supported Napoleon —
Bavaria, Baden, Hesse-Darmstadt, Nassau, and Württemberg especially — gained land and power.

They only switched sides preceding the Battle of the Nations.

The first principle of the post-war German constitution is human dignity.
Think how the world would have fallen about laughing with the coronation of Heinrich XIII:
//Heinrich XIII styles himself as a prince and comes from an old noble family known as the House of Reuss,
which ruled over parts of the modern eastern state of Thuringia until 1918.
All the male members of the family were given the name Heinrich as well as a number. // BBC

The AfD is dominated by the children of “volks” who lost their Prussian lands.
It was probably an economic benefit to Germany, since these were the backward & impoverished
areas of the country — going back to Max Weber’s late 19C analysis of the Juncker problem.

  10. “Ultimately this group has co-opted a range of conspiracy beliefs that push the idea evil cabals are looking to control our lives – and they’ve got to overthrow them.”
Is the WEF considered a cabal? I know its fckn evil.

  11. The 3000 policemen… found 1 gun. Surely the success of this “coup” was guaranteed. And yes, the German authorities will be as open and fore coming with infos about under cover agents as the FBI.

There must be a big relieve tonight in Germany that this terrible and dangerous group “with no name” wasn’t successful to install a crazy prince and a handful of followers as new government – they struck, after informing the press one week before, to stop the coup that was about to happen.

    Very convincing story that.

  12. Sounds to me that the Bavarian People’s Front did this wrong.

They shouldn’t have stated they were aiming at a return to 1871, they should have said they aim was to reduce emissions to 1871 levels.

They would have gotten government funding.

Hopefully People’s Front of Bavarian will do better.
