Also, the answer to her questioning is that people have a right to free association, and that right extends to commerce. A business has a right to offer or deny service to anybody they choose for any reason. This creates opportunities for other business, or new businesses. If there is a group that is being discriminated against, it is an opportunity for other businesses to serve that group.
Just as there is a separation between Church and State, we need a separation between Commerce and State.
