Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The only difference here is that our universities are staffed by mediocrities, so the work product is mediocre as well.
The university system is in decline. The student body is shrinking. Mediocrity has caught up to them.
That is also true, Canada by virtue of it’s longer history of socialism is a much poorer country so there is a smaller addressable market of kids with no economic incentives, more of our young folks need to make a living, no matter how “woke” you might be, intuitively you realize vagina studies is not a marketable degree.
Well Peter there are some who think that an up close study is worth a modest investment.
Not at the point where I have to pay for that, but if it comes to it, I will.
The public school system and universities have always been socialist propaganda centers. It has just become glaringly obvious in the last couple of decades.
Watto
That was already happening in the late ‘60’s.
100% of the Onus was to push EVERY STUDENT towards University. Those that didn’t make the grade or had no interest in University got for the most part, sidelined into “shop” or Alternative studies.
That has never changed.
Strange that those of us who actually produce a thing, build a thing or is otherwise engaged in a fabricatory position.. often makes or exceeds any supposed graduate from a place of “higher” learning.
Trades is where it’s at: Welder, PipeFitter, Millwright, Carpenter etc…and in the right industry can easily be paid 50/hr + Perks n OT. Take your trade and add an Engineering Technology Diploma from a Tech College and now they’re looking at jobs that can pay well over 150k annually and up.
How many gender bent grads are making that…??
Steakman, a good electrician is making a 100k plus.
I’m sure that the continuation of the Prussian Industrial School model, like most government programs, will continue to absorb more and more of scarce taxpayer dollars, and not meet it’s stated goals, especially when you have pro gang and pro violence advocates demanding more money spent on pointless programs that won’t address the cultural issues that lead to violence in the schools.
There will be NO reclaiming of our public schools and private Universities. The ONLY option is to opt out. To homeschool. To find private schooling. To read. Voraciously.
Bingo.
That parents aren’t doing this suggest that they see schools as baby-minding centres.
Education is what remains when one has forgotten what one has learned in school.
