    Government was forced to reveal a redacted document. The removed redaction shows that tow trucks had been made available from the States but the government didn’t want the inquiry to know that.

    Trudeau stonewalled and refused to reveal the contents of the legal opinion approving invocation of the Act.

          There are way too many trudeau-charter-worshippers even on this site, (one would be too many), which is not astonishing given the massive unrelenting propaganda spewed out by the power establishment ever since the trudeau constitution act came into effect.

          People who were alive and actually living in this country at that time, admittedly a smaller and smaller number as the years wear on, remember that the precious charter thing was a hobby horse of trudeau only. No one else was clamouring for it. The premiers didn’t give a damn about it. The CBC televised a few hours of “first minister conferences” where the big wigs bloviated about it, with trudeau presiding like the all-knowing oracle.

          The real discussions were in private, and the decisive action that resulted in “repatriation” was done in the middle of night in a kitchen by a handful of backstabbers. After that it was a fait accompli; excuse the french. There was no public consultation or ratification whatsoever. The whole process was trudeau as moses, coming down from the sacred mountain with his tablets of gold.

          In western Canada there was widespread scepticism and even contempt. Everywhere else there was little enthusiasm — trudeau had been destroying the economy for years after all, and there were more important things to be considered other than a trudeau vanity project. But Ottawa started to pour millions into its propaganda organs to sucker Canadians into regarding as a “sacred parchment”, and decades later even a mush-brained pseudo-con from Newfoundland describes it as such. The trudeau charter is garbage. To coin a phrase from a well-known legal tag, it is fruit from the poison tree. If subsequent generations of Canadians refuse to wake up, woe to them.

Racial priority rights (aboriginal rights), affirmative action rights, money transfers to Liberal Party bastions (equalization payments), judicial supremacy as opposed to Parliamentary supremacy….it’s all in there and so much more. Compliant non-thinking Canadians have been brainwashed into worshipping their own enslavement and destruction.

The trajectory and nature of the commission as witnessed by the preceding testimonies established that we would never get transparency or honesty. So the perfect denouement would have been for the all the pro-convoy interrogators to use their time by doing exactly what you suggested, and not letting the ponce flap away.

    The problem there is that the left in Canada have always taken that approach, and continue to do so, even with the most controversial issues. Whether it’s their climate change mania, the insistence on gender bending, drag queens at schools, extreme green agendas, the list goes on, and the left demand obedience and no dissent. So when for once in a blue moon the political right take this approach on a perfectly reasonable request (don’t take away my freedom of choice or mobility just because you disagree with me on a controversial majority-supported program), suddenly we have no right to do anything other than wave a few signs and have our concerns ignored as always, just as they have been on all these other issues, partly due to the co-opted so-called opposition that (until perhaps recently, who knows though) was never a real opposition.

    Since this is partly a question of one’s control over one’s own body, I would invite the self-proclaimed feminist PM or any other Liberal to go to a gathering of feminists and say, “on medical issues such as abortion, you can protest whatever you want, but you cannot ask people to obey your wishes to be fully in charge of your own body.” That won’t end well. The principle that we have inherent rights that come from God and not the Trudeau dynasty seems not to have sunk in even after all this.

That reminded me of “serenity now” and a very happy Festivus to all. We need to redouble our efforts to gain true freedom in 2023. If it means leaving Canada, so be it.
