“THESE ARE NOT THE ELECTION RESULTS YOU’RE LOOKING FOR”

“It’s cute that you think a celebrity who probably arrived on a private jet
with hair and makeup team from her $6.5M mansion in Montecito with
    zero ties to Georgia
is going to somehow turn the tide and get Georgians
to vote for a candidate that isn’t going to win,” wrote one Twitter user.

    1. Thank you, Portman is another celebrity who I will not be watching in the future.

When it comes to movie and TV stars, just shut up and entertain us. I think this is why I am watching more British television as I have not heard of any of them lecturing us “deplorables”.

    1. Elon musk can easily solve any bot problem simply by requiring anyone on twitter to pay some nominal amount like $5 or $10 per year. Who can afford a bunch of phony bots at $5 a head?

        1. They can, based on $8/month maybe.

But what is the lifespan of a detected bot? Minutes?

What happens with the payment method being cross linked?

Oops. Sorry we know that credit card/ PayPal account. Thanks for your eight bucks. Bye.

      1. P.S. I don’t agree with the author that the system can be as easily broken even when down to the last Ukrainian.
“The corrupt system will have to be broken by an outside force. What worries me is that the United States, in a moment of hubris, will find itself in a war with Russia or China and will discover the hard way that the expensive weapon systems will fail or be destroyed quickly on the battlefield. Like an alcoholic at the end of his ropes, the system must hit bottom and admit the addiction. Only then is reform possible.”

Will FSB blocking detachments kill them before the general suffers a friendly fire accident? Let’s hope for max body count one way or another.

Just be good rocs and surrender to Ukrainians who will feed you and offer veterinary treatment you never got at home, … but do shoot each other a bit first like those nimrods: https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/yoym9h/russian_mobilised_soldiers_continue_to_surrender/

    1. From the article “So far this month, 2.42 centimeters (0.95 inch) have fallen in Vancouver, following 8.87 centimeters in October” According to Environment Canada average October rainfall for N VANCOUVER WHARVES is 179.8mm or twice what is quoted in the article. Average November rainfall is 281.5mm or 9.38mm/ day so 2.42 cm is less than three days of average rainfall. Sounds like there is an ulterior motive -work to rule or foulup in the rail system, someone wants to pass off as climate related. https://climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/results_1981_2010_e.html?searchType=stnProx&txtRadius=25&optProxType=city&selCity=49%7C17%7C123%7C8%7CVancouver&selPark=&txtCentralLatDeg=&txtCentralLatMin=0&txtCentralLatSec=0&txtCentralLongDeg=&txtCentralLongMin=0&txtCentralLongSec=0&txtLatDecDeg=&txtLongDecDeg=&stnID=833&dispBack=0

  3. Attention: Action Alert!

    https://thegrio.com/2022/11/06/voter-apathy-republicans-democrats-midterm-elections/

“With several too-close-to-call key races around the nation that will determine the balance of power in Congress, kingmaker and now political tastemaker, Oprah Winfrey, hosted a virtual event, “OWN Your Vote,” intended to ensure strong voter turnout in this year’s election contests. During the lengthy conversation with civic and community organization leaders, Winfrey told the approximately 7,000 participants that she was “very, very, very concerned” just days before the elections.”

Oh no, Oprah is very very very concerned! I heard she is giving a new car FREE if you vote for President Biden. I’ve already mailed in my votes to Arizona and Pennsylvania. I encourage others to do the same to avoid the end of Democracy!

“Former U.S. president Donald Trump said Monday he will be making a “big announcement” next week in Florida as he teased a third presidential run while campaigning in Ohio ahead of the final day of voting in this year’s midterm elections.

“I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago,” Trump said before a cheering crowd in Vandalia, Ohio, on Monday night, where he was holding his final rally of the midterm season to bolster Senate candidate J.D. Vance.

“We want nothing to detract from the importance of tomorrow.”

    No no no no no!

    1. AMA (CAA/AAA) is enthusiastically pushing EV’s. Of course, 85% of what they publish in their member magazine is leftists BS.

      1. I haven’t been a member of CAA since , well , I replaced my shytebox Ford with a Honda.
It’s a good feeling not being Found On Road Dead.

  5. Where to get the money to solve the climate crisis …

    https://gizmodo.com/billionaires-are-funding-climate-destruction-1849753810

“These few billionaires together have ‘investment emissions’ that equal the carbon footprints of entire countries like France, Egypt or Argentina,” Dabi [climate moron at Oxfam] said. “The major and growing responsibility of wealthy people for overall emissions is rarely discussed or considered in climate policy making. This has to change. These billionaire investors at the top of the corporate pyramid have huge responsibility for driving climate breakdown. They have escaped accountability for too long.”

    1. Buffet will repent by wearing sackcloth and ashes on his head.
Plus he’ll endeavour to drive a 25 year old pickup truck like Sam Walton did.

  6. Who Will Be NATO’s Next Chief? The Race Is On.
    https://archive.ph/9VUYQ#selection-405.0-405.46

“… Ms. Freeland, 54, a former journalist (who is married to a reporter for The New York Times), has also been Canada’s foreign minister. Her advantages are considerable: she speaks English, French, Italian, Ukrainian and Russian; she has run complicated ministries; she is good at news conferences and other public appearances; and she would be the first woman and first Canadian ever to run NATO. …”

Today NATO! Tomorrow the World! ;(

      1. Good on the Wallonians in Belgium trying to stop , in their own little way , the liberalization of trade deals across the world , building the New Tower of Babylon.
Ask Nimrod how that turned out.

  7. Regarding the blog item “The Wind in the Walnuts, my Recreation Journey” http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/2022/11/07/the-wind-in-the-walnuts-my-recreation-journey-17/
    why are no comments allowed?

I could have asked you all how a Torontonian changes a light bulb?
Answer: We just hold it up and push it into the lamp socket, because we know the whole world revolves around us!

Most “hip” men’s haircut in Toronto? A manbun.
Most “hip” woman’s haircut in Toronto? A bushcut.

When was the last time Toronto had a decent mayor? Answer: The last time the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup.

    1. I speak as a complete outsider here, but it looks to me as if Fenris has lately had some influence in moderating the comments, and the site has been getting some static lately from a guy who wishes he could comment, complaining that he can’t get comments up when he wants them as he wants them. By denying comments to Fenris’s last post, the site has placed us all in this man’s shoes. We are being given a lesson in empathy. I for one appreciate it. I had been prepared to write this wish fellow off as a jerk, but now I see him as a brother in misfortune. Well, up to a point.

  8. Frank Stronach has a good rant over at the National Post.

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/frank-stronach-halting-the-inevitable-drift-toward-socialism

“There are more people who are dependent on government handouts for their livelihood and fewer people generating the tax revenue needed to support the social safety net”.

“Our government, meanwhile, is more focused on how to distribute wealth than on how to create it.”

While I agree with Stronach and his opinion on socialism and the government buying our votes I am less than enthusiastic with his idea that profit-sharing with employees is “the best way to stop our inevitable slide toward socialism”. For many reasons but here are two.

    1. A friend of mine runs a company with over 400 employees and contractors. His main problem is that nobody wants to work overtime. Taxes are too high, and it just isn’t worth it according to the people he begs to work overtime. So, offering them a share of the profits won’t help if those profits are just taxed away by the government.

    2. The government is already too big and occupies too much of a role in our economy. What use is it offering profit-sharing to employees when most people either work directly for the government (municipal, provincial, federal, police, fire department, education, health care) or in an industry heavily subsidized by the government (green energy) or in an industry heavily taxed by the government (oil & gas) or in an industry that is heavily regulated by the government (real estate, insurance, banking). Are there any industries left?

The answer to socialism is less socialism. The only way to reverse that is through pain. Give people socialism until it hurts (crime in New York, San Francisco). Hopefully a cold winter in Europe will be a start.

    1. The Global Warming Hoax has enabled the most totalitarian edicts in the history of the West; and long past is a day when it required scientific verification. Not the sort of thing the Deep State is willing to surrender without a fight.

    2. DB,
There is so much disinformation in a post like this one (@link below) it’s impossible to know where to start. But media endlessly and forever hammers the public with this dishonest crap from the UN. There is not even a scientifically verifiable link between atmospheric CO2 levels and temperature, but we flew right past the need for any actual science decades ago.

      1. Hey, RD:

I belonged to another forum for over 15 years. It was taken over by woke Prog idiots recently & is dying all over the place. A ghost town has more live bodies. Merely one more shining example of “Get woke, go belly up”.

That said, there was a thread (actually 3 of them, two got shut down) on Globull Warming. As one can imagine, it got pretty intense there, warmists vs “deniers”. Over the course of thousands of posts chock full of scientific facts, peer-reviewed papers, empirical data throwing into sharp relief the flaws (and outright lies) in the entire Globull Warming narrative, I can safely say that us “deniers” never converted a single warmist.

As I always say, you can’t logic a Prog. They are interested only in “feels” and facts be damned.

And, yes, the BS in that article would fertilize a quarter section of land.

    1. 1.79% of capacity. Sun is an hour from the horizon so solar is out of play. Guess we’ll have to rely on unicorn farts for heat & light tonight and the propane grill for supper.
