Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

That is what the Newfie Brunswickers get for voting Liberal for decades.
Let the winter time fun begin.

Somebody remind me… how do groceries get
from the warehouse to your local store?
*
And from the farm to the warehouse, and to run the equipment on the farm.
*
Nine Meals from Anarchy, my friend.
*
South Eastern US is running out of diesel at the pumps.
Trucks are being parked now.
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/11/05/southeastern-u-s-begins-running-out-of-diesel-fuel/#more-239428
elevated electric conveyor belts.
Starvation 2023/2024
The Hunger Games is already baked in:..
Yup.. And this is SHTF stuff. I have been messaging my friends there to hit the grocery stores.. Thieving will start soon.. I have a step daughter who lives in the country.. Prime looting area.
By my calculation, that is $8.77usd/gallon.
I’m not sure of the current price of diesel im south Florida, but I just paid $3.09 / gallon for gasoline.
$11.81 a U S gallon.
C$ 11.71/gal, US$8.69
Right now in South Carolina at a truck stop less than 10 miles from my home no restrictions on the amount purchased, US$4.95/gal.
My truck is full, I believe I have an appreciating asset. My little car did yeoman’s duty up north but the rust killed her – the rear axle filed for divorce. At this price for diesel 28 miles round trip to the grocery every two weeks, otherwise I stay home. After a lot of years on the road I don’t mind. I’m waiting for the economic collapse to buy another car, this tank & 25MPG should get me there.
We get frozen bank accounts from this government, they get..frozen.
Now if there was only some way of explaining the concept of cause and effect to Liberal voters.
Most of them work for any one form of the government directly or indirectly, schools, municipal, hospitals, energy, transportation, law enforcement and military and the list goes on. Sad situation when you look at the numbers. Are they worried about pay cuts? I doubt it.
bverwey
This is leading to a famine and a lot of desperation… violence … hungry people just won’t care.
The carbon tax rebate will cover any extra cost.
Will that make more diesel fuel so that there will be enough to go around?

AMERICA HAS A THREE WEEK SUPPLY OF DIESEL ON HAND
“Understandably, we have been focused on the price of gasoline, but it is diesel
that actually runs America. It is diesel that powers America’s freight trains, trucks,
freighters, barges and buses. It is the fuel that runs our farming and construction
equipment. And for many, diesel is the fuel that heats their homes.”
https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/19082/diesel-shortage
*
I’ve been reading about that for a couple of weeks now. They’re saying the whole eastern seaboard is facing a critical shortage of diesel. Then today Biden, in a speech, bragged that he was shutting down coal, forgetting that some key battleground states depend on coal mining. I know this is a blow to our national pride but America’s idiot might be a bigger idiot than our idiot.
Enjoy your bugs, you deserve them.
Ok, but how will the bugs get to your neighborhood Elites Choice (TM) Bug Market?
…for additional ammo.
But will it lead to them not voting Liberal?
All part of the Trudeau / Liberal / Freelunch plan. Increase fuel, meat and other commodities to astronomical levels such that Joe Consumer Canadian can no longer afford these items and will have to switch to bugs and EVs / tools etc.
We have fools for leaders.
We have fools for voters.
Touché
They don’t care, because they don’t drive. They’re actually quite resentful of all the big fancy cars and trucks they see on the road. They’re riding to their tattoo appointments on rent-a-bikes and rent-a-scooters. They don’t care about fossil fuels … because they’re … evolved. They’re the urban hip. The urban elite (in their diseased brains).
I don’t know why we should tolerate them. Regardless of whether the price of diesel is outrageous, anybody who voted for Trudeau deserves to freeze in the dark.
Call it rounding out their education in civic responsibility.
We might not eat them but the politicos could still find themselves on a BBQ.
Big deal.. it’s like $5 here in the states.
Oh yeah…you use it in some stupid foreign language measurement like the pint…wait, it’s the litre isn’t it?
So that’s like $12/gallon?
Gosh.. gasoline is so pricey and unreliable. It’s such a good thing you’re being pushed into electric.
I think I’m going to convert my gas car to wood burning in anticipation of the future.
It’s a horse-drawn Nissan Micra for me.
You can always buy “alternative fuels” … like biodiesel
https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/prices.html
Oops … that’s $5.60/gal. So much for our “cheaper” clean, green, future
I’d like to render a few liberal airheads for alternate fuel.
Too low octane.
3 bucks a litre my friend. aren’t you talking 5 bucks per US gallon. Take 3 x 4 = $12 per US gallon.
Brandon
The price of DIESEL IN Canada (New Brunswick) in USD is a tad over $8.00 USD per Gallon.
1 US gallon = 3.73Litres
1 CAD = .70 USD.
I know….Math is hard…
Steakman, you multiply the Canadian cost by US gallon.
no they use what the entire planet outside of clownworld uses
They’ll still crawl over broken glass to vote for hair lisp again just like Toronto.
He’s got nice socks and hair though.
bverwey
New Brunswick voted against oil and gas development, they don’t care about prices, just like most “Canadians”.
It’s an insult to stupid people to call “Canadian” voters stupid, mendacious would be more accurate.
Governed by Morons.
North Korea can now suspend any plans to engage in an EMP strike on the West, because governments in the West are inflicting equivalent damage on their own populations.
My brother in law in Fredericton owns a diesel half ton. He told me they were predicting diesel would be $3 a litre by Christmas. I guess he’s getting an early Christmas present.
Wait ’til the buses and ferries pass on the cost, and as NEO points out trucking costs of all goods and foodstuffs will also get more expensive.
Thank you turdeau and freeland you economic illiterates. Predicted (official guvmint) food inflation 20% by Christmas, actual inflation 35%-50%.
This is all by design.
I can be talked into a little sympathy with respect to N.B. after consulting my handy dandy Gosh, I wonder how they voted in the last election map. As for the rest of you smug Atlantic halfwits, you’ll be gettin’ it good and hard just like you wanted. And by that I mean Paul Pelosi hard…only with the business end of the hammer.
Let me know when someone from NFLD cries the blues. It’ll be my pleasure to point out how they worked the gas and oil fields out West only to vote Liberal when they came home in their brand new F-150s. Morons.
We do the same when it comes to California…is it somehow different here?
“Learn to code.”
Energy crisis be damned.

RE: “That is what the Newfie Brunswickers get for voting Liberal for decades.”
Standing-by for the rebate cheques . . .
P.E.I. Spuds are off the table. Eat local … at your bread bank ! ‘Ain’t seen no one fram away, eh boy ? Them Tourists is cheap with dar gas money this year.’
Whats the price for furnace fuel oil? Because it’ll run in most diesel engines.
Good thing the purple dye doesn’t make purple clouds out of the exhaust.
The dye was introduced solely so provincial highway inspections could check if (all) the proper taxes were paid (vehicle vs. home) . . . not sure if avoiding them is less than the fines for avoiding them. At least farmers catch a bit of break for vehicles that won’t be highway inspected.
$2.84 a litre for furnace oil in New Brunswick.
2.84
Please encourage all Newbrunswhackers to run furnace oil in their expensive diesel trucks.
It’s more.
A lot of diesel furnaces in the east. Jet fuel is a close cousin.
The US has little heavy oil, the product you need to make diesel. That is why they like the product from Alberta and Venezuela. KXL anyone?
I have 10 cords of split dry wood and I shot a moose this week. Baring some catastrophe I should be ok…..maybe
I’m heading for New Brunswick later this month. This might be the first time I fill up in Quebec.
Never fear! A solution presents itself:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUH-zzmHzKQ
This is more the solution I was thinking of. https://canada150.usask.ca/images/campus/Bennett%20Buggy%20A-3412.jpg
A couple of factoids for you folks in eastern Canada:
– The bitumen from our (Canada’s) oilsands makes diesel … low cost, ultra-low sulphur, and as much of it as North America could ever need.
– The oilsands industry cannot expand its production because there have been no new pipelines built in a decade, at least. With the cancellation of Keystone (Thanks Trudeau, Obama and Joe), Northern Gateway (Thanks Trudeau) and the slow-walking on Trans Mountain (Thanks eco-terrorists and Trudeau), the oilsands have been locked down.
– The oilsands industry is low-cost ($25-$30/bbl all-in), infinite in supply and is a cash cow today only because they cannot re-invest their profits. So when “eastern bastards” complain about obscene profits, they’ve only got themselves to blame. (Thanks Trudeau)
Hint: You might want to buy oilsands stock, the only thing they can do with their money is buy-back their own stock. … which unlike “buying back guns” actually produces benefits (in the short term).
“Thanks eco-terrorists and Trudeau”
One in the same. Trudeau and cronies are effectively eco-terrorists.
They have caused grievous damage to the economy and psyche of Canada.
I actually wouldn’t care less if the price of diesel was $12. / litre in the Atlantic provinces, or Quebec.
But it does look alarming for those who may give a damn as to how they get groceries out east.
https://nbeub.ca/index.php?page=current-petroleum-prices-2
For the record, N.B. has a provincial overseer which governs the price of fuel sold there.
Remember when the vaxed people were all about the mandates and the popular meme was, “govern me harder daddy” …
I remember it well.
Nova Scotia, and the other Atlantic provinces and Quebec are similar. I can’t / won’t read French so I didn’t search for the price there.
https://nsuarb.novascotia.ca/mandates/gasoline-diesel-pricing/gasoline-prices-zone-map
Note to robins111 … the above link for N.B. fuel prices indicates only a very small savings if using home fuel oil, and imagine / guess the gov’t there will fine anyone not paying for the “full compliment” of taxes on diesel fuel.
Yes the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board is giving it to em good and hard. I remember the CBC boasting ,how regulating the fuel prices in the Atlantic provinces would protect them from the big bad oil companies. Well they are getting a lesson now in supply and demand.
Change will come only after these Atlantic sheep go cold and hungry.
Lots of good people out here in New Brunswick. Sadly, they’re outnumbered by the sheep who continue to vote in the corrupt, immoral Lieberals. Heating oil has hit $2.84 a litre which makes it 3 times more expensive then this time last year. With the insane prices for diesel, we can expect more shortages and much higher food prices. People talk about Europeans freezing this winter; but, so will many Canadians. I would not be surprised to hear about heating oil delivery vehicles getting stolen/highjacked as people try to keep warm. On Monday, I will be giving my furnace oil supplier a call to see if they can recommend a locking device for my oil tank. Seeing how easy it was for them to transfer oil from an existing tank to another when I had my oil tank change two years ago leads me to believe that thieves would have no problems emptying an oil tank during the night. Scary times ahead courtesy of Canada corrupt government.
In addition to the cap it might made sense to secure access to the vent pipe and the line leaving the tank.
A friend’s father had problems with the foraging faction taking gas from the tank in his farmyard. He put a lock on the nozzle. They just cut the hose and let the tank run out on the ground after they had what they needed.
He went back to unlocked nozzles and labelled the gas tank “diesel” and the diesel tank “gasoline”. The perps cars only made it a mile or so down the road. “Having problems, neighbour? Can I help you?”
That’s what my friend claims anyway.
Thank you for your suggestion Curmudgeon, I’ll make sure to look into securing vent pipe and line leaving tank as well.
Yes, there’s lots of good Newbrunswhackers but most of them are suckers for anyone with the name Trudeau. Same with the rest of Atlantic Canada.
We could have pipleines and refineries. If Quebec rejects such things from Western Canada, I say we sue their arses off, halt their energy supplies (leaving them only Hudson’s Bay electricity) and basically make their lives miserable. And we can still run the pipeline down the St. Lawrence river, which is Federal jurisdiction.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the imbeciles in Ottawa started talking about a new Canadian Energy Program to replace the old National Energy Program if the easterners continue to have to pay this much for fuel, and they think it will affect them at the polls.
I’m fine with that, as AB & Sask. separation will be directly on centre stage here by the next day.
I remain on this front, an “accelerationist”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Energy_Program
* link, in case anyone here is very new to this idea.
Justin and Jagmeet will blame oil companies. But they won’t mention Irving by name.
Even though Irving as a company will do well off the higher prices, they won’t appreciate Justin’s remarks.
After Justin gets a nasty phone call from the Irvings, Justin will slip another few grants/subsidies to the Irvings.
People still believe elections are fair…
Ok…
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=T0gl9LXq3LA
So… I don’t see it talked about often, but, if we are bullying Russia around and threatening war with them, daring them to try something… why wouldn’t Putin just wait a little while longer until we are out of diesel, you know, the kind that runs NATO’s military, and then WHAMMO!
It’s called a strategic reserve for a reason.
We are like a porcupine rolling over on his back and exposing our belly. (Yes, I know Trailer Park Boys Bubble’s song, “Who’s Got Your Belly?” We ought to be singing it to our fearless leaders, no?)
It is Biden-Trudeau war against Russia.
They are exporting East Coast refined products to prop up the Euros.
Tankers of North American diesel going to Europe is the problem.
Please.. Im sure Justin’s banging ass and flowing hair is going to get him on the cover of Teen Vogue again.. That’s got to be worth something to somebody, somewhere.. While it wont fuel our homes, industry or infrastructure in any way.. It will give us bragging rights over other dysfunctional nations.. In your face Cuba :).. Our idiot leader has a better ass than yours.. Canada ROCKS..
I actually live in a liberal area.. I suspect I will be spared all the nasty fallout from their bone headed plans.. If enough brown people suffer it will be undoubtedly be racist and come to a quick Canadian subsidized end.. Understand?..
“If brown people suffer”?
That is the obvious goal of econazis and the WEF. The largest burden in their quest to depopulate the world will be on third world countries. Note that the vast majority of depopulation advocates are white elites and their useful idiots.
Canadians don’t want a pipeline.
They want to pay more for gas and food.
Enjoy the decline.
Heck – that is approaching $12/gal in U.S. Dollars. Insane, but I do detect a business opportunity for black market diesel exports from the USA. Think the mounties can kinda squint as the tankers go north? Buy at 5 and sell for 10, giving the Canuks a 2 dollar benefit.
Home diesel is over $6/USG in New Jersey. That should help the Biden team on Tuesday. Could be a blowout
‘abtrapper
“could be a blowout”
Hope you’re right
It has to be massive, to overcome the margin-of-fraud
Say, don’t we have the same Chinese controlled software company “counting” our votes…?
Are steam powered cars legal?
I want to build some kind of four wheeled road going locomotive, burn trash collected from roadside homeless camps, never have to pay for gas
Make your own bio-diesel from used cooking oil.
Cars on garbage? Old tech.
I’ve seen a pickup truck that was converted to run on wood chips. It had a gasifier in the bed – a tank filled with wood chips that was heated with wood scraps. The gas produced went to a special carburetor (probably similar to ones used for propane.).
German buses had something similar in WW 2 with big gas bags on the back bumper to regulate supply. Before my time but I’ve seen pictures.
A writer at one of the Mechanics magazines (either Science & Mechanics or MI) wrote that somebody came by in the 1930’s and demonstrated a pyrolytic converter to them. It ran a model T for half an hour on a dead alley cat.
YMMV
Everyone has a plan unt… look! A squirrel!
I wandered away looking for ww2 buses with gas bags and tripped over producer gas cars
https://www.lowtechmagazine.com/2010/01/wood-gas-cars.html://www.lowtechmagazine.com/2010/01/wood-gas-cars.html
As far as steam cars. There are some on the road still. Burning garbage probably be pretty inefficient. Then, like wood gas cars you’re not going to leave without a bit of a wait to get up a head of steam. And don’t let your boiler freeze.
