Remember kids, Freedom of Speech is not the same as Freedom from Responsibility.
This is one of the core problems when you attempt to discuss ‘Free Speech’ with a Leftist. Their arguments can sometimes go along the lines of ‘I am allowed to call for [acts of violence] because Freedom of Speech. You like Free Speech, so stop complaining’.
No. Free Speech is the right to be able to open your mouth. You are still (one assumes) an adult and are responsibly for your actions. If your actions – which in this context include saying something – get you in trouble you cannot hide behind Free Speech. You must be held responsible for your actions.
Like the saying goes (Wilde I think) – It is better to be thought a fool then open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
There is also the saying “enough rope to hang themselves”.
If we combine the two then it gives us that it is better to allow a fool to open their mouth and remove all doubt, then gag them and live in uncertainty.
So… Rumble is telling France to go jump with their demands?
Well… at surface level I think I support this. I actually want to know what Russia is claiming because it helps me understand the Russian cultural mindset. Better to have their unfiltered ‘opinions’ to analyse then for them to be able to claim to be victims of Western oppression who are denied voice.
