  1. I rack my brain trying to figure out why women , my wife included, are drawn to the occult.
Stuff like tarot card, palm and future readings.
Then progressing to spiritual incantations and so called ‘ white witchcraft ‘ as opposed to the dark crap ,as if it makes a difference.
I’ve nipped it in the bud , concerning mine, as best I can but F*CK…..
I have tried the church route but even they suck .
Along with leaving The Good Book in plain site and reading it in front of her.
I try to lead by example a healthy life full of good things and quality experiences.
The old Golden Rule, lead by example.
Thank God she has not gone down the occult path and I have shaken all those ideas loose from her.
She embraces an open mind now and follows God as best she can.

What is it that attracts the fairer sex to this Shyte.
    Sorry for the rant.

    1. John, I have been asking myself the same question. I know a mother who has turned her back on her friends and family and embraced paganism, the occult, and new age. “Uncorrected narcissism” is definitely part of the problem in her case. Young women probably feel empowered by the gynocentricity of witchcraft: Gaia, mother earth, crone, wise woman, etc. No patriarchal religion for them. G.K. Chesterton said, “Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried.” Witchcraft and paganism are easy and self-serving; Christianity is sacrifice and serving others.

        Nailed it.

  2. Witchcraft = giving women a room of their own. Even homeopathy has more ‘scientific’ rationale but is still a thoroughly unexplainable medical system of belief. I laugh when they refer to themselves as ‘modern’ witches as if there is or was any connection to that of 500 years ago. Fabricated nonsense for they eye of newt crowd. Witness the amorphous inclusion of other neo-pagan ‘beliefs’ to solidify their flimsey ideals. https://witchcraftandwitches.com

  3. Remember – believing in the message of mercy from a Jewish carpenter is just too weird.

  4. Dated a gal back in university, an art student (I know, I know…), mebbe 10 years my senior. One night I crashed on her couch with a bad cold or possibly a light bout of flu. Woke up several hours later to find she had placed certain crystals at my head & feet. It was then I discovered she was Wiccan.

A bit weird, everything else notwithstanding…

  5. Back in the day, would arise and mutter under my breath: “Children, you have as good a set of parents as you deserve, probably better. Be grateful.” Then I would get on with the day.
It worked; they’re all productive adults. Don’t know if those who are parents perform the same incantation at dawn.
