       When in Ottawa Rehab centre for a 60′ Rock Climbing accident (1986), I witnessed first hand that “operation”….no fun whatsoever. Yes both lower bones where broken, then 2-3 sets of pins installed above and below the break with Long pins attached on all 2-3 sides…once a month those are lengthened a certain amount until the desired length is attained.

       Much like the “RACK”..from medieval times.

       I cannot imagine the unreal pain one must endure for that….fentanyl used for pain relief.?? likely and so ya get lengthened and as a bonus are now addicted….Lovely.
