Take That, Putin

Regina: Evraz steel workers feel uncertainty

Earlier this month, Evraz PLC announced it has plans to sell off its North American assets. With its largest shareholder a Russian billionaire, the company has been challenged by sanctions enacted due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

“We’re bystanders in the conflict,” Day said.

“The members and the workforce should not be punished for things beyond our control.”

Still, with the future of the plant unknown, workers have experienced confusion and uncertainty, Day said.

“Everybody is worried about their future,” he said, but added that the situation is “out of our control.

”The task at hand, he said, is for workers to go to work and go home safe to their families.

“Worrying about what’s going to happen or who’s going to buy us, if they sell, it’s just going to add stress to an already dangerous job.”

  1. So what the hell is Wreck It Ralph Goodale going to do about it? He has been useless for quite a while.

  2. The Russians should demolish it as its powered by coal fired electricity so, the sooner the better. We have to rid the planet of antique manufacturing plants. There are lots of green jobs coming in the future.

      1. He’s right.
Bug farmer, bug taster, stoop laborer on the corporate/collective farms, all green jobs.

  3. Maybe they can stop by Colonialidiot’s house so they can hear why exactly they can no longer feed their children. Hint: it’s because he’s a pathetic spineless bloodthirsty wannabe dicktaster that can only parrot slogans dreamed up in Davos. Just like every other NPC sheep that “stands with Ukraine.”

  4. Prediction:
If they find a buyer, the feds will block it as that means someone handing a bunch of money to some Russian billionaire, the plant will close, the feds will have further alienated whatever nation the buyer hails from, but Colon will be happy because the Russian billionaire gets ripped off, and the Turd will be happy because he just drove another nail into the coffin of the Canadian economy.
As for the workers, who cares, as long as the Turd and Stand with Ukraine folk are happy, a little collateral damage is perfectly acceptable to them.

  5. Bronze plaque grave robbers in Calgary disappointed in Trudeau’s stance on Evraz.
