Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What a lovely microcosm of society in general. Let’s not come down hard on drag racers (who are overwhelmingly Hispanic, btw) using public streets in an illegal and unsafe fashion. Instead, let’s inconvenience everyone by doing something stupid, unnecessary and (for the typical braindead Californian) confusing.
Incidentally, this act is a trickle down result of the mentality of their District Attorneys. By not actually punishing those who break the law in the name of “fairness” they end up looking for alternatives. This is one such alternative.
Speed bumps are the same idea. So are roadside checks for DUI.
I live in Mexico. There are a lot of speed bumps here. They work great; no drag racing and very few traffic lights. Simple is always best!
They work great
Not necessarily. We’ve got one as prime minister and look how he turned out.
Topes!
Why didn’t they just put up a sign reading “drag-racing-free zone”?
Personally, I would have just legalized drag racing there, if only to hear the shrieking of the Karens.
The funniest part of this is that the article is from “Not the Bee”…
No where else than drug induced, brain dead, godless
CALIFUNNIA!
Yeah, The quake, where’s the quake?
You can bet these designs are “engineered”.
I was involved in civil street works 20 years ago, but the criteria for proposed curb, and mostly sidewalk alignments, we’re going off the rails. Instead of nice straight sidewalks, they had to be designed to go around little trees, little bushes and shrubs. These should have been ripped out and replaced, to form a straight sidewalk, but no, EVERYONE has say in civil designs now, including incompetent politicians, while the actual professionals take back seat.
Result? High costs, due to more engineering time, more materials required, and more labour to build all these looping curves and reverse curves, getting them “right”.
Government run amok.
Heh, I used to use the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Street Signs to get out of traffic tickets regularly. I was amazed how many intersections and roadways are not marked properly. Height, width, angle, location etc….if they don’t comply, then you are not obligated to comply either.
Those look like the bike lanes that used to be along 106 Street in the Duggan area of Edmonton.
Instead of following the curb all the way, the lanes would curve around parts of the street where people tended to park. They weren’t there for very long.
I ignored them whenever I could as that layout was totally useless to me as a cyclist.
Like my father used to say in his German-accented English, “Real schmart…..”
Looks e the rest of your Average Californian brain wave activity…from Zero to nothing…
Stupid is as stupid dies…when some drunk comes rolling thru
Has anyone run one of the “self-driving” cars through there yet?
The large company I worked for paid a consulting firm $50k for a study and advice on how to maximize on-site parking. The most effective advice offered in the report was “paint the lines closer together.”
Rt
Bout the only place that made decent sized parking stalls is COSTCO.
BAR none.
Because nothing is allowed to be “straight” in California.
well the street draggers would just ignore those. And around here it’s the WO….italian stallions who do the street dragging.
I think it’s genius.
People who will consent to mandatory vaccination certainly won’t cross double yellow lines.
I think it’s funny.
Many people who come across this will become unhinged. There is something in the positive ions in the air conditioning in that part of the electrical grid in California.
Why? Because the police won’t intervene on the “sideshows” or drag races. They’re outnumbered … and the Mexicans are too violent and dangerous. Multiple Sideshows take place at main intersections throughout the SF Bay Area every weekend. The police “say” they’re gonna “do something” … but they rarely do. Rarely.
Face it … Law and Order is DEAD in America. We are all on our own. What do you believe would happen when you invite the bloody multi-culti third world into our civilized society?
