  1. The French government just nationalized EdF, the main electrical generator/distributer. They did this in order to save it from collapse, but shortly the government will discover how to use it as a means of rationing power: first to industry, and then to smaller businesses, and finally to the public.

  2. Where will all the subsidies come from when Western “green” governments all go completely and utterly bankrupt!? No wonder Russia insists on payment in Rubles … because every Western currency has been inflated to worthlessness. We have spent and subsidized our Socialist Nirvanas into a hellish Depressing future. Soup lines are looming in our future. And … 3-jackets in the shelters.

  3. L – Maybe Germans might want to reduce their risk profile by using their Euros to buy roubles?

Being self-sufficient in energy, agriculture and manufacturing is an economic strategy.
Having secure sources of cheap energy secures the future of manufacturing or you could just
pursue de-industrialization. Then buy everything from China and learn to code in Mandarin.

Turkey has the largest armed forces in NATO’s eastern block, maybe they’ll protect your borders?

  4. What’s the old saying about life in previous eras being “nasty, brutal and short.” If European leadership can’t wake up from their green energy dream turned nightmare then for Germans this winter might be “cold, brutal and long.” Winter isn’t that far away.

If I was in a energy starved European nation, I think I’d be planning to take a long winter vacation to a warmer climate or at least get out of the big cities. Energy shortages and expensive food could spark anarchy.

  5. Let the German bastards freeze in the dark.
