  2. As I’ve said here before no entity has the authority to dictate the right to self defence. A government that dictates how you can defend yourself or your family is a dictatorship. Far be it from the politic elite to dictate how we can protect our selves, when they shelter behind a security curtain that we have no access to. The Poly-Tech shooting that started this whole mess in Canada would have had a different outcome if one of the victims had been armed. The subsequent cover-up of the shooter’s background only advanced the Liberal/Democrat agenda to limit and restrict gun ownership. The same obfuscation and coverup that has occurred in the Nova Scotia shooting. Now the Uvalde shooting has shown what a farce it is to believe that the police are there to “Serve and Protect”. Much as the elite would like to remove the right to self-protect we are now seeing them for what they are and as a result we are seeing a rise in gun ownership in Canada, less albeit than what is happening in America but a measurable rise none the less. Canadians I hope are starting to wake up to the mantra that the government is not your friend, in actuality a socialist government, like all past socialist governments have proven, is the enemy of all free and independant people.

  4. I recall, eons ago, listening to Bill Good on CKNW out of Vancouver…..basic story, (as memory serves), was that an ‘older’ guy, somewhere in the interior, stuck a, younger and larger, housebreaker with, (I believe), a screwdriver as the latter attempted to climb through a window.

    Rumor had it that the homeowner was to be charged…..numerous irate phone in calls later there was an announcement that no charges were to be laid.

    The reality of “Hey, that could have been ME” must’ve hit home.

A retired military firearms instructor in Welland ON was charged with multiple violations when he fired 2 warning shots into the air to scare off masked thugs who were throwing molitov cocktails at his house. More and more of these stories are happening without any media attention so sooner than later it WILL BE YOU.

        It is a waste of ammo, you may not know where the bullets will “stop”, you will disrupt your hearing at a vital time and it discloses your position.

      3. I remember that story. As best I can remember:

        I read that he shot at them, not in the air, and actually killed one of them.

        He was not charged for the killing. (He did have the right to defend himself. Trudeau is wrong, never a surprise).

        But the police charged him with improper storage of firearms, because they said from the time of his 911 call to the time of the shooting, he didn’t have enough time to unlock the gun cabinet, go to a different room and unlock the ammo cabinet and load and then fire. They kept taking him to court for two years until a judge ordered them to stop.

  5. I never spent too much time worrying about owning a gun for self defense, although other reasons motivated me.
    Thanks to Trudeau’s immigration policy, official and otherwise, I would like to own a gun since I live within fifty miles of Toronto and the plague is spreading fast.
    Who am I kidding, it’s probably already here.

    1. The cities are lost. It’s going to get worse, especially when governments try to “nudge” you into moving into more densely populated urban areas. They don’t want you living outside the cities, and at a certain point, it’ll be every person for themselves, (The movie “The Purge” isn’t fiction! It’s a warning!) which is exactly part of their master plan. The ruling class isn’t worried. They live in their gated communities, protected by an iron curtain of security forces armed with… you guessed it! HANDGUNS!

      That’s why I’m looking to get out of this city, and move into a quieter village away from the chaos that is sure to come.

      Remember this piece of advise that was offered to me from a source who knows about these things: “Whatever the government tells you to do, do the exact opposite!!!”

  8. I comment on how over-armed the police / security were in Ottawa this past March. At one time individuals could have guns and we armed our military. Now only the forces of internal repression are allowed to go gunning. Another Liberal turn of events during my lifetime.

  9. People, gun rights are just the tip of the iceberg. If you read the Charter carefully, you will see that Canadians do not have any property rights at all. Those were set forth in the 1960 Bill of Rights but were not carried forward in 1982. Anyone who is surprised by this obviously knows nothing about PET’s open admiration for communist regimes. Just wait until his feckless progeny announces a ban and buyback of cars to propitiate Gaia. With no property rights, how will anyone oppose such a plan?
    Gun owners are the canary in the communist coal mine. Folks who don’t stand up for gun rights now will find that a horrible precedent has been set when the Liberals come for your SUV, your steaks, your gas furnaces, your plastic forks, your bank account (whups, they already did that…), etc, etc…

Perhaps Mr Trudeau should be directed to the Criminal Code of Canada; the key is “proportionality”, which means that the the use of lethal force must be justified by the threat being to the the life of the person (or some other person). Note too that this standard applies to everyone. Although the convoluted sub-para 3 gives peace officers a very broad avenue to escape from errors in judgement. I don’t have any problem with this in principle, but recent events have shown that this defence in criminal law should not include or imply that bad judgment or fitness to be a peace officer cannot (or should not) be the subject of more searching judgment by the authorities in whose name these individuals act.

    Defence — use or threat of force

    34 (1) A person is not guilty of an offence if

    (a) they believe on reasonable grounds that force is being used against them or another person or that a threat of force is being made against them or another person;

    (b) the act that constitutes the offence is committed for the purpose of defending or protecting themselves or the other person from that use or threat of force; and

    (c) the act committed is reasonable in the circumstances.

    Marginal note:Factors

    (2) In determining whether the act committed is reasonable in the circumstances, the court shall consider the relevant circumstances of the person, the other parties and the act, including, but not limited to, the following factors:

    (a) the nature of the force or threat;

    (b) the extent to which the use of force was imminent and whether there were other means available to respond to the potential use of force;

    (c) the person’s role in the incident;

    (d) whether any party to the incident used or threatened to use a weapon;

    (e) the size, age, gender and physical capabilities of the parties to the incident;

    (f) the nature, duration and history of any relationship between the parties to the incident, including any prior use or threat of force and the nature of that force or threat;

    (f.1) any history of interaction or communication between the parties to the incident;

    (g) the nature and proportionality of the person’s response to the use or threat of force; and

    (h) whether the act committed was in response to a use or threat of force that the person knew was lawful.

    Marginal note:No defence

    (3) Subsection (1) does not apply if the force is used or threatened by another person for the purpose of doing something that they are required or authorized by law to do in the administration or enforcement of the law, unless the person who commits the act that constitutes the offence believes on reasonable grounds that the other person is acting unlawfully.

I noticed this ever since Prime Moron’s trip to India: other media channels and newspapers/certainly not Canadian are pointing out how ridiculous and clueless+imbecile Dear Leader is. But Canadian media? No noo, Dear Leader is hard at work / continues to work at (insert whatever here).
    Even now with this NS PMO vs RCMP Lucki ‘investigation’: if “Honorable” Bill Blair said that nothing wrong happened, it must be that. What else do you peasants want?
    Or this gas tax thing: even vegetable Xiden in America was smart enough to remove taxes from gas price. But in Canada no one in the media addresses that, no one raises the question: how much do we pay for carbon tax and other surtaxes for 1 l of gas? Why tandem ShinyPony+his tool, Jagmeet (after all they both claim they care for the people, right?) doesn’t remove these taxes at least for the summer?

      That one sentence there, is the fact.
      Even if a court deliberates for weeks over your split second decision to defend yourself with lethal force, and that court finds you guilty. At least you’ll still be alive to actually go to prison! If it ever comes down to making that split second choice, I’ll worry about the legal aspects after I hopefully manage to successfully defend my life!

  17. SCOTUS just took a chainsaw to New York’s laws in Bruen, while the Prime Minstrel pronounces that a citizen cannot defend himself with a firearm.

    If we had useful opposition, they would have taken the opportunity to put forth a “Justin Trudeau is not Special” amendment to every bill in the HoC that removes the ability of his protection detail to carry firearms, and requires him to rely on the local police to show up in a timely manner if he’s under attack.

    You are NOT allowed to defend your property with a gun or any other lethal force.

    Back in the ’60s I briefly (legally) owned a revolver. Nobody asked what I wanted it for, just had me fill out the registration application.

    But since then the country has gone paranoid about guns, and I’ve heard that if you want a hand gun, they will ask what you want it for. If you say self defense they will deny you. It’s contradictory – you can defend your life with a gun, but you cannot buy a gun for the purpose of defending your life.

    BTW, you are ONLY allowed to defend your life, which means you must be able to demonstrate that you believed your life was in danger when you shot. You are NOT allowed to defend yourself from injury with a gun or other lethal force.

    (One cop said, if you do shoot and kill an intruder, take one of your butcher knives and put it in his hand before calling 911.)

    and 6 mos after THAT had my Taurus broken into. all 3 caught on video.
    that to this day copssssss WILL NOT LOOK AT if lm the victim.
    strangely, some 4 yrs later more or less, very odd and exceptional, a total of 8 of THEM (plus 3 family members of one) all around the same general area, were all . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . dead.

    I am certain that it is wrong, but every Parliament (it has nothing to do with the Queen) Police Force and Court acts as if it is true.

    The Politically Correct lie is that if you have time to arm yourself, then you have time to call the Police. That if you arm yourself, you are aware of a threat and therefore have a duty to call the Police. If the Police say that there is no immediate threat, you have no need to be armed.

    Therefore : You may defend yourself with anything that you have one hand for “other purposes”, but preparing to defend yourself is equated with planning to kill people. Go figure!
