    1. I brew my own hootch, though it’s been years since I made it from scratch.

I must confess, though, that I bought beer over the years that I’ve been working on settling my father’s estate, mainly Alberta Genuine Draft.

      1. Good choice. The wide mouth cans were the best.
        Lethbridge Pil was ok.

        1. The only reason I started drinking AGD in the first place was that it was the cheapest. But, it’s also decent beer.

  1. Something whispers … it is later than you think

FDR created the fascist totalitarian template. If not for the Supreme Court, we’d have all been standing in bread lines for the last 90 years. Welcome the Green New Deal! American Socialism – Reel Two. If the TVA created cheap, plentiful Energy for an “underserved” population … then the Green New Deal will kill it. It will kill cheap plentiful energy for brownouts, blackouts, and energy poverty. Every part of our economy and personal lives will suffer. We will all be walking and riding bikes like ChiCom peasants … while the ChiCom middle class rides the machinery of upward mobility. The Obama Faction of fascist dictatorships will knock Americans off their high horse. His gaggle of college professors will advise him how best to destroy our nation.

    Then … Civil War.

    1. By comparison, that twit Lester Pearson saddled us with Pierre Trudeau. Now his adopted son wants to complete the destruction of this country that PET began.

    2. L – It was cheap energy that facilitated the end of human slavery. The end of cheap energy
(by dictatorial fiat), will subvert human freedom. Globalism envies North Korea and C.C.P China
for their basic dictatorship, one that requires enslaving the human mind.

    3. Well he certainly created a template for Big Government and despite an avalanche of new government spending, by 1938 the economy was showing the same lethargy that had afflicted the nation prior to all the New Deal spending.
Big government works best for Big Government advocates.

  2. Re: Last night’ s movie ”The Hustler.”

Thanks, best movie ever!! Minnesota Fats was an icon!! In the movie of course.

      1. This world was brought directly to you by the Liberal Party of Canada.

It’s as if Trudolt himself pulled the gun.

The other two henchmen are from the Star and the CBC.

Every shithole in the world sent their criminals to Canada.

As racist is the absolute kryptonite of white Canadians, the Liberals and their Media ensured not a contrary peep was heard .

        Particularly from the Pusillanimous Party.

        After all.

        Criminals vote too.

        Liberal of course.

  3. I have my great uncles diaries and many financial records from 1930 onwards. Plus a mountain of anecdotes. Strong suggestion, Barry Broadfoot’s book 10 Lost Years. Until 1933 Saskatchewan was the 3rd most populous province in Canada. My grandfather and Uncles and to buy out their father who was overextended in the 1920s. Current financial train wreck heading for the station will make 1930s seem like a dusty version of Camelot. Back then many Canadians had rural connections to help survive and the ethics to work grunt work.

    1. “Barry Broadfoot’s book 10 Lost Years”
I think some of the stories in that book can be taken with a grain of salt. For example the story about the man who loses his Mom when he was a toddler. His father then takes him and his brothers to live off the grid deep in the bush. There they live under such ignorance and depravation that the author doesn’t see or meet a woman until he is 12 years old. I showed that one to my Dad(d.1992) who lived throughout the thirties and he laughed at that one. He said some like to paint a picture of the thirties that is darker and bleaker than is required.

  4. Dear Leader Kim Sung Trudeau is burning jet fuel again. Today he flies to Newfoundland. There he will visit a baby sitting service and meet Prince Charles.

    1. I have the feeling the sock monkey is going to beclown himself today.
Seems to happen whenever he gets in close proximity to a member of the royal family.

      1. Just as well. Ain’t nothing worth celebrating in this shithole of a country anyway.

  5. The police are on the hunt for one Alal Amer, who used his truck to purposely crash into Angela McKenzie car, then, at the crash-intersection, step out of truck to shoot her dead:
    https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/senseless-act-of-violence-family-mourns-loss-of-calgary-mother-angela-mckenzie-1.5902354

Flash back two or three years ago. Turns out Mr. Amer was part of a criminal gang involved in illegal weapons and drug dealing. In a plea deal, the Crown prosecutor dropped all charges except one:
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/calgary-gangsters-amer-el-rafie-guilty-pleas-sentence-1.5125325

So, with time served, Mr. Amer serves two additional years. The brain-dead judge overseeing this case states, on sentencing, that he “hopes you will not get into criminal activity in the future”. Our corrupt (in)justice system at work. A mother of five murdered.

  6. Maybe I have too much time on my hands but I googled (“binged”) [sic] for a formal definition and got…

used in brackets after a copied or quoted word that appears odd or erroneous to show that the word is quoted exactly as it stands in the original, as in a story must hold a child’s interest and “enrich his [ sic] life.”.

Interestingly I couldn’t find the problem with the sentence other than it refers to a child, then to his which suggests sexism in the sentence. Of all the examples one could use to define [sic] why would they choose such a sentence?

I got the answer elsewhere as “thus it was written” indicating the original content rather than the current author, commonly where there is a spelling mistake.

Returning to “a story must hold a child’s interest and enrich his life”, what is the correct answer to that one? Perhaps “a story should enrich the life and hold the interest of the child” to avoid she/he/their/zer/king/alien/giraffe endless references. But isn’t this more about pronouns and less about [sic]?

  7. Couple more on the coof.

    1. DB, pics are no longer acceptable. I could make it look like you attacked the US capitol on the 6th and no one could say yea or nay. The current tech could have you being a pedophile and no one would be able to say otherwise, as the ability to make what isn’t seem like it is has reached a level that most are unwilling to understand.

  8. Did anyone bother to watch the video beginning to end? Let me summarize,

    Hoover bad – FDR good.
    socialism is right wing
the depression was fixed after FDR arrived, but Republicans kept it going.

Propaganda film, made as PR for the Democrats.

      1. Don’t forget that he allowed the Frankfurt School to re-establish itself in the U. S. after its members left Germany because of the Nazis.
