When the cops assaulted protesters he claimed they were non police provocateurs. Then he switched to salivating for Pootin to conquer all of Europe (anytime now) and nuking all of North America.   4. This is click-bait. The article is just talking to one of the lawyers bringing the cases. There are no substantive legal victories in there, just a couple of things that might be considered favourable but in context may amount to nothing. And even if someone miraculously won at the trial court, you have our glorious Supreme Court to slap it down because truckers are icky or some such profound reasoning.

    1. Well, you have a point. this is click bait. I’ve already seen this story when was posted over a month ago, and even commented on it back then on another forum. What is not being mentioned is that Keith Wilson, the constitutional lawyer that is toted as “well respected” (he may very well be, that isn’t the issue), is also the same lawyer that represented the freedom convoy when it was here in Ottawa. Something worth noting because Mr. Wilson’s opinions, as legitimate as they are, are not exactly grounded on objectivity. He has an interest here to continue protecting the convoy.
      The fact that this story has been around for more than a month, and Mr. Wilson’s views known around these parts for a lot longer than that, doesn’t exactly make this post headline news.

Actually, the hope is that Mr. Peckford’s case will be heard by a federal court before September, but even if it does, what I’m hearing from one of the justices does not lead me to be optimistic. It’s almost certain this case will go to the SCOC, but when it does, I have no faith that they will do the right thing here.

      1. Thee is always a risk in court of not winning. The fact of the matter though, is that the government’s ‘out’ clause in S1, does have limitations. That is the point I believe that Peckford is truly arguing, after seeing him personally speak in public, and on other long detailed vids where he fully explains his strategy.         While the courts may very well decide that the government, at the peak of Covid, may have been legitimate to discriminate (I don’t agree), fast forward to this spring, and the border/travel ban is violating my rights, and every other person in my position. It is clear, that the jabbed are an equal of higher risk of transmitting disease, since the jabs have failed.

          1- the scientific consensus is that after 6 months, the people who had 2 doses of vaccines have no greater protection from covid than the unvaccinated

          2- the unvaccinated can prove they aren’t infected with covid with a simple test…just like the rest off the world is doing.

          3. I haven’t done a complete count but it seems like everyone I know, except 2, got all the shots *and* a covid infection. In my unvaccinated family, only one confirmed case of covid and she had only a few sniffles for about 3 days and a sore throat.

            My unvaccinated husband was required, out of our own pocket or get fired, to test weekly at a Saskatchewan Segregation Party approved covid testing clinic for months and he never tested positive.

    Were fraudulent stories about the Freedom funding produced by some of the ex-journalists in the PMO and then delivered to the CBC to run?
    Or did the PMO just order them to produce some lies that included the funding angle?

    How did the CBC examine the funding and come up with their ‘incorrect’ results?
    What evidence did they examine, and what evidence did they find that supported the lies about the funding coming from outside of the country?
    How do you get something that simple 180 degrees wrong?

They know damn well what they are doing is illegal and unconstitutional but they don’t care because there are no consequences. Their mode of governance is to do whatever they want, regardless of legality or ethics or morality. Years later a court or inquiry will confirm it was illegal but the damage is already done and the politicians responsible always get away without any meaningful repercussions. Canada’s checks and balances to prevent abuse of power are as big a joke as its Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

    Canada’s parliamentary model has been described as a “Benevolent Dictatorship” but Trudeau’s government has dropped any remaining illusions of benevolence.

    Peckfords case will never be heard and if it is it won’t be heard for Months and perhaps years and then it will be appealed by the corrupt Turdhole/NDP lawyers.

    If the Liberal stacked Courts do hear any of these cases including Peckfords they will side with the Turdhole/NDP Dicktatorship.

    Maybe people still haven’t noticed, but this country is corrupt at every level of Governance, including the Judiciary which is a primary dumping ground for Turdhole Party bagmen and woman with a law degree.
    The Law Society is one of the most corrupt organizations in the country, hopelessly corrupt.

A better solution would be to fire/remove from office those who condoned the Emergency Measures Act to be used against the protest and to have them stricken from their golden pensions. Politicians that overstep their authority should have no office in a country that claims to be democratic. Overstepping authority is tantamount to dictatorship. The next step in the LIB/DIP alliance is the removal of free and open dialogue and then they will confiscate your firearms, all done of course in the name of the “general public good”. Think it won’t happen here, look at history, we’re halfway there already, they have already vilified a goodly percent of the population because we refused to succumb to the injection, that was where NAZI Germany started!
