1. In the 1860 census about 1.26% of Americans owned slaves. Slavery DID NOT drive the US economy other than in the region of large plantations in the South. A large majority of Southerners did not own slaves. 10% of the black population was free

2. 1619? The USA was not even a glint in its founders’ eyes. How stupid. I doubt that any of the colonies or colonists had creating a new Republic in mind. I would guess that most started as more or less loyal British subjects trying to start a new life in a new land. They brought whatever baggage they could carry with them. Whatever people believed 160 years before the creation of the country, eighty years after that the USA and its Confederate cousins fought a very bloody war which led to the abolishment of slavery. Apparently, thanks to nonsense like this, almost every college student believes America invented it. Since then, racial relations were incrementally getting better and better and while no where near perfect, Obama and his minions purposely set them in the other direction. This project is part and parcel of that.

   1. If America invented slavery, it must be more than 2000 years old. After all, slavery is frequently mentioned in the Bible.

      1. Don’t tell that to a 20 year old. I saw a man on campus interview and most of the students knew nothing about what they were asked. All gender studies majors, I guess. As they all knew, only white Americans have ever held slaves. Maybe they still do?

3. I am a Pinkman. Not one of my ancestors owned non-white slaves. Most of my ancestors likely were slaves as serfs tied to the land.

4. Funny old world,The great Obamanation who was hero to so many progressives and American Blacks..is a direct descendent of African Slave Traders..
   Liberalism is a progressive disease.
