I believe BCL is missing the mark. The world is never going to be without bloodshed and violence, because it lives in the hearts of men. He says we are collectively appalled at Putin, and takes that as a sign that we will solve problems with economic pressure, not violence. That is a pie-in-the-sky view of humanity, not supported by any facts, historical or present.

He makes reference to his land purchase and as a result his neighbour can’t hunt there anymore, he doesn’t realize that the treaty signed by both powers to give Ukraine autonomy was contingent that America would make no forays into Ukraine except in the event that Russia invaded. Well the States made the forays into Ukraine in the form of Bio-labs and NATO training camps and who knows what else? Putin just pulled out the deed saying you can’t hunt here anymore. Pretty straight forward and simple but if you only listen to one side of the argument, especially from the side that has been lying to you for so many years then you put yourself behind the eightball. I’m not particularly cheering for anyone in that fight, but I trust Russia more than Ukraine, or any western government or media at this point. Certainly more than I trust the canadian govt.

Lawyers would have a field day with that “forays” article. Would building or partnering an auto industry plant be a ‘foray’?
If not, then how is that different than a pharmaceutical plant or a bio lab?
