  7. BC is back to normal folks. Most people had no mask on the ferry. Most not wearing a face tampon in the mall. The restaurant this evening was nearly 100% maskless including staff. We’re back baby.

    The thing I’ve noticed is maskies are miserable. Like they’re already dead. Why not just get it over with?

        Many Many Retail outlets still with fully masked employees…Its disgusting in my opinion that even with Provincial Mandates gone…Companies still enforcing this utter Idiocy.

Hells bells, I saw this guy yesterday maybe 40-45 yrs old, driving his car wearing 2 masks no less – a Surgical blue under a black neoprene type…..in his car…all the windows up with 14C outside..

        He & those like him wont live long…and to me..?? I’m ok with that.

    In a centrally planned command economy, decision-making is centralized. “The government controls all of the supply and sets all of the demand. Prices cannot arise naturally like in a market economy, so prices in the economy must be set by government officials.”

    That pretty much defines the EV market today and as it will exist in the future under government mandates that will force the auto industry to stop selling internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles by 2035. Consumers will have no choice in the matter. As Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said the other day , “it will not be voluntary.”

    The EV industry is under the command and control of government central planners. Forgive the cliché, but: “What could go wrong?”

  9. Conservative leadership candidate Jean Charest said Thursday he wouldn’t touch Canada’s existing gun laws — including when it comes to a ban on “assault-style” firearms.

    Asked specifically about the Liberal government’s ban on some 1,500 models of “assault-style” firearms, he said, “I’m not seeking to change the laws as they are.”
    Charest’s position appears to run contrary to the party’s, whose critics on the issue recently called for the ban to be scrapped and whatever money dedicated to it to be redirected to police and border services.

    Even Patrick Brown from GTA gets it:
    A similar opinion (to the party’s) was expressed late Thursday by fellow candidate Patrick Brown.
    “I’m a GTA mayor. From first-hand experience I know the billions Trudeau will spend on taking legally owned firearms is better spent on police resources we desperately need,” he tweeted.

  12. I read an article about solar roof shingles. The guy needed a new roof. It was a modest house with a simple design but located in California (aka everything is expensive). He spent about $30,000 and he’s saving $2,400 a year in electricity. He calls it a 9 year pay-back because a normal new roof would have cost $10,000. So $20,000 / $2,400 is 8.3 years. Not bad except one emerging problem. California (like Ontario) now wants to charge people for the power distribution lines (to their home) whether they sell electricity onto the grid or just don’t use any. That will be a problem. Also he didn’t factor any maintenance into the costs and he already had to have the solar shingles professionally cleaned because when they get dirty that 20% efficiency goes downhill pretty fast.

    The mosque involved and the legacy media want you to think so, but after the headlines, and near the end of the article we discover:

    2. Magpies are not nice birds. They go after the nests of the smaller birds and are generally obnoxious. They look good, though.

      1. The magpies in my neighbourhood here in Edmonton are frequently having a row with either the crows or the robins.

        Every year, or so, we have at least one nesting pair. Starting around Victoria Day, one can hear the kiddies kicking up a fuss as mommy and daddy force them to start looking after themselves. The apartments facing the courtyard of our complex can hear the din, which goes on for several weeks. I don’t mind it, as it’s a bit of fun to see the youngsters in action and I’d listen to them than the neighbourhood brats who run around screaming their heads off.

        As for magpies going after smaller birds, I’m inclined to agree with you. I’m sure that’s one reason why the birdhouse in my back yard in Fort St. John hasn’t had any sparrows nesting in it for the past two years.

        Many years ago, there was a one-legged magpie in our neighbourhood. He was missing a foot and hopped around on the one he had. It was sad to see him like that, but it didn’t stop him from being a father at least two years in a row.

    1. This morning I noticed some chicadees looking for breakfast from the seeds they buried in my yard. They played tag afterwards.
