      Every riding gets equal weighting. Look to Charest to invest in QC and Maritime ridings as well as big metro ridings where CPC has zero chance of winning. The CPC is so messed up.

          1. No I would not, Charest is 100% unacceptable, so is Brown and McKay.
            And that is despite the fact that I was willing to hold my nose and support Cons in the last two elections.

            I have joined the party to support Pierre Poilievre and will also support Lesly Lewis (again) if she runs. So far I do not see other viable candidates.

  8. As I recall ministers of the Crown cannot be sued for execution of their duties. Such suits would require permission of the Crown to proceed anyway. Correct me if you have better information.

I did not care for Elliott’s handling of the pandrmic, but I suspect she was caught in the middle of forces pulling in different directions — like the sell- outs at the Canadian Medical Association. I will say, however, that been leaving politics at this juncture confirms that she is a real human being. Too many others don’t know when to leave ( e.g. Pelosi, K. Wynne for a long time, many more. )

    I’m sure a great deal more respect was shown to elected officials at all levels. Those who were elected would in turn earn and show that respect.
    Life was less complicated, people were busy with life, doing chores we have machines to do today.
    People helped each other, they didn’t need to be reminded to be kind, they just were, it was a way of life.

      Todays politicians have no respect, they suffer abuse because they have earned it.
      When they get elected, they get the course on how to ignore anything and everything they promised, because they can’t deliver it.
      The swamp will not let them, even with best of intentions, they are completely lost in the machinery grinding away as shown in the movie Modern Times.
      The interesting part is, that the times you’re talking about, the politicians and the journalists had more sense of duty to do good. Today it is completely and utterly gone.
      The politicians’ moneybaggers rule, you got no money, you are outta luck.

      After all that, it is not to say that the plebeians should not strive and make the system work for them rather than for the rich socialist aristocrats. As it is though, there seems to be no way to do it until the plebeians get involved in local ridings.
