Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Funny how our politicians have unlimited funding for worldwide causes and campaigns…
And not so much for their own citizens and country.
US is repeating the same mistakes from Afghanistan.
by Batko Milacic for the Saker Blog
The United States invested $83 billion in arming the Afghan army. Having lost there, the Americans abandoned all their weapons and they fell into the hands of terrorists, criminal elements, drug dealers, which led to an acceleration of destabilization in the Central Asian region. That’s the price of “planting“ US democracy in Afghanistan.
Built and trained for two decades, Afghan security forces collapsed so quickly and completely — in some cases without a shot fired — that the ultimate beneficiary of the American investment turned out to be the Taliban. They grabbed not only political power but also U.S.-supplied firepower — guns, ammunition, helicopters and more.
The Taliban captured an array of modern military equipment when they overran Afghan forces who failed to defend its territory. Bigger gains followed, including combat aircraft, when the Taliban rolled up provincial capitals and military bases with stunning speed.
Taliban’s accumulation of U.S.-supplied Afghan equipment was enormous. The reversal is an embarrassing consequence of misjudging the viability of Afghan government forces — by the U.S. military as well as intelligence agencies — which in some cases chose to surrender their vehicles and weapons rather than fight.
The U.S. failure to produce a sustainable Afghan army and police force, and the reasons for their collapse, will be studied for years by military analysts. The basic dimensions, however, are clear and are not unlike what happened in Iraq. The forces turned out to be hollow, equipped with superior arms but largely missing the crucial ingredient of combat motivation.
The principle of war stands — moral factors dominate material factors. Morale, discipline, leadership, unit cohesion are more decisive than numbers of forces and equipment. This was shown by the war in Kosovo, where the Serbian army, even if technologically incomparably weaker than NATO, led NATO to give up the original plan.
In Afganistan , Americans provided materiel, but only Afghans could provide the intangible moral factors.
Taliban insurgents, with smaller numbers, less sophisticated weaponry and no air power, proved a superior force. U.S. intelligence agencies largely underestimated the scope of that superiority, and even after President Joe Biden announced in April he was withdrawing all U.S. troops, the intelligence agencies did not foresee a Taliban final offensive that would succeed so spectacularly.
Some elements of the Afghan army did fight hard, including commandos whose heroic efforts are yet to be fully documented. But as a whole the security forces created by the United States and its NATO allies amounted to a “house of cards” whose collapse was driven as much by failures of U.S. civilian leaders as their military partners.
The Afghan force-building exercise was so completely dependent on American largesse that the Pentagon even paid the Afghan troops’ salaries. Too often that money, and untold amounts of fuel, were siphoned off by corrupt officers and government overseers who cooked the books, creating “ghost soldiers” to keep the misspent dollars coming.
Of the approximately $145 billion the U.S. government spent trying to rebuild Afghanistan, about $83 billion went to developing and sustaining its army and police forces, according to the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, a congressionally created watchdog that has tracked the war since 2008. The $145 billion is in addition to $837 billion the United States spent fighting the war, which began with an invasion in October 2001.
The $83 billion invested in Afghan forces over 20 years is nearly double last year’s budget for the entire U.S. Marine Corps and is slightly more than what Washington budgeted last year for food stamp assistance for about 40 million Americans.
And despite all these catastrophic mistakes, Americans are repeating the same story in Europe. The United States pumped Ukraine with weapons and pushed it into war with Russia. In addition, the Kyiv regime, in the throes of its defeat, distributed more than 240,000 small arms into the hands of prison-released gangsters and fanatical mentally ill nationalists. In the near future, Russian troops will defeat the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and at the same time they will squeeze out armed radicals from Ukraine, who will end up in Europe and significantly change the crime situation there, plunge calm European cities into chaos. As always, only Washington, which does not need a calm and well-fed Europe, will win.
The US mission in Afghanistan was a failure from and because of its beginning. Military action to establish a phony state in a Muslim tribal wasteland famous for being the graveyard of empires was an invitation to take nothing seriously from the US except their cash and now armaments. Mark Steyn said at least a decade ago that when the last American leaves Afghanistan, there will be no sign that they were ever there. He was slightly in error in that he vastly over-estimated the intelligence of the fleeing superpower in leaving $80,000,000,000 in weapons.
While no fan of the sociopathic Putin, he appears to display more intelligence than the elected sociopaths and their “DAVOS-WOKE” deep state bureaucrats and political military commanders that he is up against from the US and NATO alliance and who he knows will not attempt to stop him carving up the former Ukraine.
Has SDA suddenly become a cheerleader for Russia?
It sure seems so.
“ Ukraine represents the hill both Davos and Russia have chosen to live or die on.”
Why have so many here chosen to side with the Davos Uniparty, that they despised right up until February 22?
It’s a strange one that’s for sure. I’m guessing it’s mostly just personal bigotry. You ramp up the hatred enough and no sensible thoughts enter the cranium, Islamist’s work the same way.
That and political opportunism. I’ve witnessed several conservative politicians sniff the political wind and try to make personal hay out of it. Ol Pierre Poilievre who I do admire started swinging with the globalists, but I soon recognized that he was using the platform for Canadian Oil & Gas, especially East Coast projects and selling to Europe as part of his new leadership champaine.
Is he opening the champaine a little too soon?
The old guard are looking at Charest.
Just trying to get different avenues of information that isn’t beaten to death by mainstream media into their narrative of Innocent Ukraine pounced on by the Big Bad Russian Bear for absolutely no reason except existing to be conquered.
Oh and Ukraine is beating the living crap out of the Russians considering the city’s that are falling seems like a different narrative is actually happening.
Watch the video I linked to with Colonel Macgregor and Tucker Carlson. To the contrary. The Russians are conducting a campaign of surround and wait. Do not make the error of comparing this to the usual American invasion strategy of destroy infrastructure, bomb them to hell and back and then move in to clean up. Russia wants to “capture” Ukraine, not send it back to the stone age.

I’m not “cheering for Russia”, but I’m not exactly fans of Davos, or for Ukraine for that matter. The Ukraine leadership are not exactly angels. Anybody who claims that Ukraine is an open liberal democracy hasn’t exactly gotten into the weeds yet.
If Soros and Clinton are “standing with Ukraine”, along with the fascists in this city, that alone is enough to get me to stop and think who the real baddies are, especially with all the fake news coming out of Ukraine to garner sympathy for the Ukrainian people.
I HAVE NO PATIENCE FOR PEOPLE WHO LIE TO ME! The ends do not justify the means, regardless of the cause.
The conclusion I have drawn so far is to put a pox on both houses. Please attempt to convince me otherwise. I’m all ears.
Really?
The enemy of my enemies, may get my sympathy, especially if they really are hurting my known enemies.
Given the quality of character of the crowd cheering for the Ukraine,I naturally look closer at their “Enemy”.
I know the more recent lies from our “Dear Leaders”,now I wonder,”How long have they been lying?”
Probably since they first drew breath.
Look to the extraordinary effort ,predating Trump’s Presidency,to paint Russia as “The Enemy”..
As in hindsight, the “Real Enemies” sit in Ottawa and Washington.
For Russia and China are only a threat to a Continent weakened from within.
Tis pure comedy to see the sound and fury directed at Russia, for supposedly being, what our own States have become.
Most loudly and belligerently by the Foul Creatures who made this so.
So who are you going to believe?
Wait for some real facts?
Or Trust the same people you know are lying to you.?
@JJM – It’s ok to ask questions JJM. There has been little “cheer-leading for Russia” and more questioning the Globalist A’holes that have been stamping on our rights & freedoms for the last decade along with their MSM propaganda. They’ve taken their boot off our necks just in time to support them in this fight.
So now those same globalist’s are selling the public a bill of good’s we are supposed to swallow hook, line & sinker. It’s funny because the same MSM & political liars are putting out plenty of fake propaganda that is easily debunked – why do they need to do that?
There is nothing wrong with questions and a little critical thinking.
I think most commenters here are under no illusions about either side. There’s more than enough corruption to spread around. All sides can ask themselves “Are we the baddies” and get the nod. As usual the innocent will suffer while the West covers its ass in Ukraine and Russia carrys out what it said it would do. Rest assured what happens there will be used against us here in the form of higher prices and stricter gun laws. It’s for our own good. Don’t be selfish. Think of others.
+A
I find SDA allowing there are two sides to the story, a commendable position.
This place is always a good spot for rational thought.
@Jojodog – “The Taliban captured an array of modern military equipment”
Geeze relax already, the Taliban won’t know how to use half that stuff, they would have sold most of it off to China, Russia, and Iran by now to back-engineer for themselves and pass onto proxies like Hezbollah. Sleepy Joe is just sharing the wealth with those that don’t have as good killing equipment.
A bill has been tabled in the State Duma to the effect that able-bodied men who openly take the side of the globalists against Russia in time of war will not go to prison.
They’re be conscripted into the Russian army and sent to die in the war their foreign buddies started.
All I’m going to say is:
It’s too fn late! If Zelensky was intelligent and not playing Rambo Patton in front of world cameras to maintain his narcissistic urges, he would realize that resisting is futile at this point and dangerous for Ukraine sustainability and for the rest of the world…Ukrainians should go back to their homes to save what they have left instead of having it bombed or burned. Russia is not going to turn back now.
Bitten’s clown world that includes the UN, NATO has yet again failed us. Do you miss Trump yet?
The best solution is still to drill baby drill but it’s not going to happen until a revolt occurs.
I don’t give a toss about the Ukraine or Russia. If both can collapse, wonderful. My enemies are in this country and they won’t stop until we stop them.
+++T. 100% accurate.
PM Chrystia Freeland has issued a warning to Canadian’s contemplating going overseas to fight alongside Russia. Don’t do it. Jail awaits you.
No problem if you leave to fight for Ukraine.
I’m not cheering for vlad.
I’m guessing she’s interpreting Ukraine as a friendly foreign state in accordance with Para 3. of the Foreign Enlistment Act. Not sure she’s on solid ground, but if so, then for the first time in as long as I can remember, she’s not totally offside and lying through all of her orifices.
She should heed her boss when he talked about those that fought for ISIS. A canadian is a canadian is a canadian and no dissent allowed.
When the former Soviet Union broke up Ukraine was left with a nuclear arsenal. They gave up those weapons in an agreement guaranteed by the US and Russia that guaranteed territorial integrity. To allow the Ukraine to be swallowed now would be an affirmation that the word of the US is not to be trusted. A no win situation for a weak president.
Outside of that, a pox on both their houses, we have internal enemies to deal with.

I watched that yesterday. I did a lot of check and verify on a number of the the points presented and didn’t find any of them untrue.
@Greg Grandy, good interview and information, thanks!
I’m starting to see this conflict as a battle between those that favour the rule of law against those that prefer a reintroduction of the Divine right of royalty.
The dust up in Ukraine is the place where the proxies are doing the shooting war on behalf of the neo feudalists.
To clarify: the WEF Davos Uniparty are the ones seeking to reinstall feudalism (Great Reset).

Thanks. Glad to see he’s not a Davos tool.
Ops, you missed the third War occurring that is the full blown mainstream media’s propaganda war on Russia.
Here’s Russia’s frustration is 181 Nations in the United Nations all receiving the Mainstream Media’s Propaganda Narrative while many Nations also getting their US Humanitarian Aide packages from Uncle Sam who are warned that your Aide packages could be compromised if you vote against us.
Is it any wonder Russia is spooked and have their Nuclear Weapons at the ready right now…’Empire of Lies’ is the latest from Russia as they compromise on some issues.
Plus the other two Wars one Economic and the other physical.
Russians are currently bombarding a Ukrainian nuclear power plant with tickets and it’s now on fire. Its probably nothing but it’s a much larger facility than Chernobyl was.
