  1. I have recently been excoriated in comments (elsewhere) for pointing out that the lifting of mandates in Nova Scotia does not mean “We Won!!!”

    Driving us two steps back and then letting us take one step forward, reducing our sense of needing to hold the line, is how they win.

    Yes, there have been some victories in some minor battles, but the war rages on unabated. Yes, it’s OK to take joy in these victories, if it emboldens us to not just hold the line, but push it forward, to move from victory to victory, because to relax is to be defeated.

    1. Who said you were wrong? There is a hell of a lot of work left to do. As long as the government holds the scary virus over our heads we’re not over this by a long shot. Are you sure it wasn’t just one of the trolls?

      1. Given the circumstances I think that calling him out would be impolitic. He’s the owner of a very small, very “clubby” forum who I hold no ill will against and doesn’t deserve any hassling over it. If he shows up here with it, all gloves off.

        I note that he didn’t say I was wrong, in fact he averred that I was right. The charge against me was for being a “smart boy” in pointing it out and harshing a Bluenoser’s mellow.

    2. I refuse to comply anymore, I walk around NS with my mask hanging off my head sideways and I see more and more people refusing to mask up. Like I tell people, refuse to comply with their tarted up political agenda as medical advice. If the majority tell them to fork off and refuse to comply they have absolutely no power to put their boots on our threats now or in the future.

      2. You must be outside of the capital. It’s still nearly universal compliance with masking here as far as I can see. Not quite 100% (which is better than it was 3 months ago) but still easily 98+%. Even still plenty of people making outside.

        1. It’s no better in Edmonton. I bought groceries at the nearby Safeway and I’m sure I was the only one in the store without a mask. A few people gave me dirty looks, but that was the on hint of disapproval that I received.

          Edmontonians neither want nor deserve freedom. Then again, what do you expect from a government town?

        2. I’m in Halifax now. The people here are beyond mask compliant. It’s unbelievable the number of people walking around out side, often alone, wearing masks. COVID-19 passports are checked at every restaurant. And everyone masks up inside. I’m from Ottawa. It’s bad enough, but Halifax is full on COVIDiote.

If Trudeau declared that the population had to be reduced by half because of climate change, and therefore everyones name ending in B,D,F,H….. had to walk off the end of Pier 21, I wouldn’t want to happen to be on it when the announcement was made, you would be trampled in the stampede. Nova Scotians are not sheep, that is so unfair to sheep, they are infantilized zombies who need mommy government supervising them at all times. They’d rather whinge than work, don’t like failure but truly hate and envy success, and who’s only goal is to cut anyone who stands out down to their level. A sad example of humanity.

          2. I knew two people in grad school who had some connection with Ottawa. One, I believe, came from there. The other found a job in the area.

            Both eventually ended up at Dalhousie and how have tenure. Coincidence?

        I abandoned the mask a few months ago.
        I began this way.
        I entered a very covid-strict ice cream shop here in Vancouver, with the mask ON. I asked the clerk if the shop’s management policy was to deny service to a naked face. He said, Oh no sir, that would be too much of a hassle. We would never do that. And that was the last time.

        Oh, and I don’t wear it half mast either. I discovered that that can be seen as a provocation.

        Learning languages was never my best skill, but I can understand French, some Japanese and a bit of Spanish and can speak a few coherent sentences.
        Curious to know how “woke pronouns” work in French, as houses are female and cars are male. Perhaps a Fracophone could enlighten.

        I might work on my Mexican Spanish or Italian for travel, before entering a senior care facility. Not into cross-word puzzle therapy.

Depending on how far this year they keep the sheeple to wear their useless face diapers which is nevertheless a powerful psychological tool (I’m in ON and don’t wear one in big box stores…when they ask I just say I have a condition and that’s as far as it goes. My condition you ask? I like oxygen!) it’s going to be harder for them to turn back IMO thus my biggest concern is a completely more virulent new virus or a much lab modified covyd strain.
    It’s a war right now and what’s at play is humanity’s freedom and sovereignty’s

    I think we all understand this Scam was 100% predicated on a BS testing protocol, and it’s desired ending, a Digital Passport encompassing one’s Entire Life in the hands of some nebulous entity that 100% controls you

    1. The Federal passport is coming, no back off on that yet, the only way to stop that is Province by Province. You must keep the pressure on provincial politicians to reject it, on behalf of the citizens.

      1. Read an essay on another site that the plan moves forward, despite the apparent step back from emergency powers. The vaxx “passport” is next.

        To counter any provincial disquiet over the national passport rollout, there will be a supreme court reference to confirm its constitutionality. Not, mind you, to determine whether a national “passport” is a violation of human rights or existing laws, but only whether the feds can intrude in provincial jurisdiction. Some provinces will argue against federal intrusion, but only as a division of federal/provincial powers thing.

        The feds will of course win, that’s baked into the cake. The provinces will all recognize and abide by the sc edict.

        And so passports will be enforced nationally without any discussion within and among governments about the concept being completely alien in a “free and democratic society”.

        Once passports are rolled out, a digital ID system goes with it.

        Compliance will be monitored, so a social credit score based on compliance to all government objectives will be maintained.

        As economic conditions continue to deteriorate, the central bank digital currency (CBDC) gets rolled out, and people will be incentivized to adopt it quickly.

        This is all as many lucid commenters on SDA have been saying since the initial rollout of The Covid Scamdemic.

        If you thought things are bad now, give it a few more years. You’ll be building a log raft to float out to some atoll to escape. As long as “Rover” doesn’t find you first. (Some of you will no doubt recognize that cultural reference).

        Unless governments can stop it, a whole lot of data is coming out this year. Data about vaccine injuries and deaths, fraus in vaccine trials, the uselessness and harms of masks, the economic and human tragedy of lockdowns. There might even be links to bribes and blackmail of public figures. A low odds chance of wider pubic acknowledgment of politician’s WEF membership/allegiance and WEF plans for society?

        Some of those involved might want to start looking a non-extradition countries…or plan a one way trip to Elon’s Mars settlement.

  10. Follow the money.. Just who owns the mask companies and what it their relationship with our government.. They have obviously made investments and its clear that THEY want them to pay off into the foreseeable future..

    Are we being forced to purchase a product we don’t need? Yes we are.. It falls into the “do something” category that has no data or scientific reasoning behind it.. Feeling safe has nothing to do with being safe..

    1. When I go to a grocery store … I shop until some kid in an apron asks me to put on a mask, I simply tell him that do not have one …. They will then either offer to get you a free one or they just walk away.

      Usually you will get away with a couple of dirty looks which is all they have.

      Masks are a placebo and most people are stupid. That is the reason for the success of our mask masters.

  18. The mandates are coming off temporarily now for one reason: Because fair weather protests will attract magnitudes more people now far outstripping LEO manpower. Change will happen under such protests and that scares the piss out of the political class. They’re counting on a waning will and the threat of using the Emergencies Act to stave such protests off in the Fall. Divide and conquer has worked very well and that trick will keep the fascists in power permanently since Canada no longer has what can be called “Rule of Law”.

  20. The privileged and pampered public servants in Ottawa, none of whom were ever laid off in the lockdowns, have anointed a new saint, Zexi Li. She is a Chinese Canadian and a federal public servant whose sleep was disrupted by the trucker protests in downtown Ottawa. She lent her name to a class action lawsuit which led to a judge ordering the truckers to stop sounding their horns.

    But that is not the end of the story. She and her lawyer are continuing with a class action lawsuit, not yet certified by the court, to sue the protestors for hundreds of $millions. As part of their anti- protestor jihad, the lawyer has employed private investigators to identify the protestors. Their lust for revenge will pursue the protestors for years:
