    1. The next steps are pretty clear if the government doesn’t back down: a general strike, and if that doesn’t work, a tax revolt.

      After that, things become more volatile and kinetic.

      1. With Trudeau and our current premiers a tax revolt is meaningless, Bank of Canada is printing money to finance the feds and provs.

  9. I don’t know that the City has the power to create arrestable offences (although there are perhaps new covid powers?). Pretty sure that is the jurisdiction of the feds/province. Happy to be corrected but this seems odd and Mr. Mayor not too bright.

  20. A local company sent a big rig servicing truck there. It ran out of fuel days ago. It’s close to the parliament. Owner told the driver, don’t put fuel in it, leave it there and stay until I tell you to come home. Have they heard of accessory heaters? And battery boosters? Maybe not.

      1. Might be a good time for the towing companies to do really thorough maintenance on their tow trucks. Since their drivers are out sick anyway, it doesn’t matter if none of their trucks can be made operational for days, right? It would be especially unfortunate if some important parts got lost in the process.

  35. I don’t know how to get this to the truckers, but this doesn’t have to end. Truckers should start slow rolling all the roads in Ottawa. Create gridlock on the 417. $3.7 million is a lot of diesel fuel and the money keeps coming.
