That Went Well

Pretty sure I saw a Hutterite van in there. Mighty neighbourly!

Update:

This is the most organic movement I have ever seen. Here is how it is happening. It started with farmers, planning a protest, on a private chat, lots from the Coutts area, when fishy stuff started happening they added all the people from the area they knew /1

The locals all planned out how to block the area, because they know the area best. As they looked over to the next town they added all their friends to the chat to work on that area /2

They are literally organically networking and growing out the road blocks by adding people they know into a private chat as it grows outward. It’s just getting to Lethbridge /3

I’m certain he’s just reading a script handed to him, but Junior probably believes the crap he spews. And at this point the script writer is only reinforcing Junior’s paranoid neurosis with delusions of grandeur.

Junior won’t go anywhere unless there’s something in it for him, and he could threaten to burn down the whole edifice if he’s pushed. I’m sure he knows where some bodies are buried, so to speak; the Liberal caucus probably knows better than most that Junior is a dangerous whackjob.

If they thought that the present situation needs de-escalation, the big financial backers of the Librano Party could ask Trudeau bestie Stephen Bronfman to approach Trudeau to persuade him to step aside. Bronfman could also inform Junior of a multi-million dollar contribution to the Trudeau “Charitable” Foundation as the sweetener. If the (succeeding) Liberal Government also agrees to kick in a matching donation, “to honour Junior’s courageous and noble legacy”, Junior would be able to leave feeling most proud that he’s rubbed our noses in his sh*t. He’s that much of a malignant narcissist who detests real Canadians. I think this scenario is plausible. And at this point they think they can get away with anything.

      1. He is arrogant enough to believe he can hide from this forever.

        I don’t think this time.

If his own party doesn’t drop him out of embarrassment (SEE: O’Toole, Erin), the Chinese will gradually stop stuffing his dad’s foundation with cash.

      WTF you say?

      1. “A Pink turban Head becomes PM”

No he does not. In what reality are you living in? Both Libranos and Cons will pick interim leaders until Party Leadership votes. So whoever Libranos pick will become the new PM.

    3. From your lips to God’s ears. Its about time at least one of these covid tyrants was brought down.

  2. When governments escalate, so do citizens.

Are TPTB really trying to get somebody killed?

    1. Yes, that would suit them just fine as they could have an excuse to pull out all the stops and call in the military. Ha, ha, haaaah (sorry, I couldn’t help myself).

      1. The dogs bite harder than you think and these ones are trained attackers. They are not the good guys (back the blue conservatives!) and they won’t hesitate to do whatever they are told.

        1. And as soon as that happens the RCMP can expect a Mayerthorpe moment! Think hard RCMP is that what you want to provoke?

    1. Actually, on Sunday they were driving alongside the train track east of Hiway 4 with their 4×4’s. Didn’t make much sense to me, but there they were.

      1. Maybe they’ll get stuck if they park the 4×4’s as a blockade in the ice ?

If so … I’m sure one of those “domestic terrorist” farmers will cheerfully pull them out!

Now let’s see how they try to spin it.
Pretty dejected looking members there, going to be a few early retirements!
    Wooohoo!

  7. I was wondering when we were going to get to the “Calling all trucks/This here’s the Duck/We about to go a-huntin’ bear” part of the song.

  8. And that my friends is how you do it-the pigs erect a barricade of a dozen vehicles, supporters park in front of them effectively tying them up. The pigs do not have unlimited resources, do that a two or three times and the entire small town detachment will be tied up. It can be easily scaled up in the cities. I doubt any big-rig tow outfits will collaborate with the pigs, the truckers are their bread-and-butter.

    1. Well, the police have to show their superiors that they followed orders.
That doesn’t mean their hearts are aligned with their superiors; they can report back that they tried, but it’s against procedure to draw a gun to issue a parking ticket to someone who’s just standing there passively and saying I guess you’re supposed to issue me a ticket, eh.
For the time being I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and continue to refer to them as police. That can lead to a better outcome.

    2. Fuck off with the “pigs” talk. Most are our family too… And I know for a fact many support the anti-mandate movement while having to tread a fine line.

But really fuck off and change your language.

      1. Might I suggest that it is you that needs to moderate your language you uncouth moron.

Go read the Dziekanski report and watch the video of how your wonderful RCMP deal with a disoriented and non aggressive visitor. But that is only part of it, they went on to perjure themselves, the commissioner withheld evidence and Dziekanskis mother was treated abominably. To this day the RCMP member pounding his extendable baton on the floor has never been questioned why that weapon was deployed even though a tazer had been used five times. They will forever be judged on the basis of that incident by me.

The fine line you speak of is the line between cowardice and virtue, what I am seeing is plenty of cowardice. Pigs troughing for plenty of overtime, lording it over non-violent protesters, as others have pointed out violent protesters get dealt with kid gloves at Caledonia.

      2. Don’t know about the “Pigs” comment – there may be much more behind the attitude but my respect for the “Cops, Fuzz, whatever”, dissolved some time back. They are their own group/team/force and thus they are their’s and my worst enemy.
(Exccept for the young guy in Northern Ontario. For Krissaskes don’t tell his superiors!)
Go TRUCKERS! And you FARMERS! I’m on your team!!
Screw you KENNEY and you too Switzer (sp?). Both of you have forgotten where your priorities are at present.

      3. I agree. I have many friends who are RCMP. They do not deserve to be called “pigs”. Most are fine people, placed in impossible situations.

  9. ”History has shown that this scenario in the wake of what is happening at the moment is not uncommon, unfortunately…. The most terrifying vengeance comes from the hands of men who wanted to be left alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. The moment the men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy… but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the men who just wanted to be left alone.

I’v dealt with a lot of cops, some good, some not so good, but they have bills to pay and families to feed and raise. I would like some of these cop disparagers to ride shotgun with a cop some day, it would open their eyes.

        1. “I would like some of these cop disparagers to ride shotgun with a cop some day, it would open their eyes.”

If your duties as a cop make you think that you can:
          1) Tase an innocent foreigner do death in an airport;
          2) Unlawfully break & enter flooded homes & steal private property;
          3) Shoot at unarmed people near a fire hall in the pursuit of a criminal;
          4) Look into the eye of a private citizen and outright lie to them (two separate instances);
          5) Make an honest mistake and, instead of owning up to it, take it out on a private citizen (I could go on, at length),

Then maybe you’re in the wrong profession.

Do I think all cops are the same? Nope. Not even close. But how do you tell before it’s too late? Hence, my trust issue. They have to prove themselves worthy of my trust.

  10. If push comes to shove…Trudeau calling out RCMP in force, and the military, I’m not so sure they will stand by Trudeau. When you consider what Trudeau, and Libs in general, have done to the military and veterans, we may actually have a mutiny happen!

    As a veteran, that’s my feeling…

    1. The best way to get to the military to stand down is to remind them if they get seriously injured that will incapacitate them for life–the Federal Government will fight them in court in order not to pay for their medical expenses. Take out ads, billboards and air time on radio and TV. Trust me, every serving member except perhaps those who are still in basic training have at the very least heard stories of vets being told they’re asking for too much while they see terrorists being paid $10M.

      1. best answer from the CDS if there is a call in for the military is “Your asking for more than the military can give”
Sone of us that serve remember what that idiot said

  11. Could somebody clarify, I see sherriff’s vehicles on one side of the highway implying this junction may be in the USA. The lady also says “into Coutts” at one point, implying they are headed to Coutts. Does that mean that the farm vehicles are from the USA? And is this now an international blockade?

    1. There are Sheriffs in Alberta. I’m not sure of their affiliation, but I’m assuming RCMP. You do see them cruising up and down Highway 2 between Edmonton and Calgary all the time.

      1. Ah thank you, was not aware of that fact. Are these like the sherriffs in BC that are basically confined to court duties and transporting prisoners/accused to court?
I am attempting to understand if the govt is scraping the barrel for vehicles/ personnel, and how long they could maintain their stance? My guess is not long at all. Given the shortage of prison places, I doubt if any truckers will be too inconvenienced even if arrested.

      2. Sheriffs, peace officers, fish cops, DOT’s all part of the Provinces new war on crime initiative.
They can (mostly) all enforce the criminal code now. The Sheriffs used to be under the RCMP ‘tutelage’. Not sure since the change.

  12. God bless Canada and may God bless the truckers and farmers. This is the most encouraging thing I have seen in 2 years of non-stop twilight zone.

    1. Amen… and God Bless the Aussie truckers that are making their presence known “down under”!

  13. Thanks for the belly laugh to start my evening.
    Are those Alberta Sherriff?
They look like it,but not clear enough to tell for my eyes.
I am surprised by how many minions are still turning up to work, about now would be a real expedient time to come down with a wicked case of Rona,or “Too dangerous to work syndrome”.
Have these minions no knowledge of history?
So little that they line up to be on the wrong side?

  14. These small towns; the cops have to live there too. If they get vicious there will be repercussions.
There was a WWII Allied expression, “being sent to Coventry”…very effective psychological weapon. Nothing violent or illegal but soul crushing.
    https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/sent-to-coventry.html
Think about it; if you’re single, the girls won’t have anything to do with you, can’t get a meal or a beer or a haircut.
If you’re married your wife and kids are ostracized as well.
Don’t think for a minute this hasn’t occurred to these members; they’re not stupid, they know they’re being used as a political tool. They probably agree with the protesters pov.

    1. “These small towns; the cops have to live there too. If they get vicious there will be repercussions.”

The only RCMP detachment along Hiway 4 between Lethbridge & the border is in Milk River, 11 miles N of Coutts. There used to be about 3 guys on staff there at any given time. Can’t see that changing much over the years. There’s a new RCMP HQ in a town by the name of Coaldale, 6 miles east of Lethbridge. They moved in from the old HQ in Lethbridge a few months back.

When I went down to Coutts on Sunday for a looksee, there were easily 20 RCMP cruisers of various forms between Milk River & Coutts, so it’s not just locals. I noted in another thread that I saw at least 20 cruisers in a hotel parking lot in Lethbridge yesterday afternoon. Couldn’t make out whether they were RCMP or Sheriff’s, though. I find that typically they have worse attitude’s than the Queen’s Horsemen.

        1. Oh, agreed. I don’t trust a single one of the bastards, what with High River, Nova Scotia, Vancouver Airport and my own personal experiences. Not a chance. When Alberta finally separates, I sure as hell ain’t interested in hiring any of them onto a provincial police force. RCMP experience will be grounds for immediate disposal of the resume.

    1. Trying to figger out where that blockade was, but can’t make it out in the snow. Not many places on the LH side of Hiway 4 between Milk River & Coutts have trees that look like those in the background of the vid. One place just north of Coutts a couple clicks, another just south of Milk River a bit further.

    1. Finland rolled back a bunch this week and, if I understand the report correctly, the rest are set to removed at the end of Feb.

Even when they are not being ‘formally’ rolled back they are being rolled back all over the world.

Case point? At my Day Job we are based in a sort of ‘tech park’. Lots of individual buildings within a larger compound.

Last month in one of the buildings we share one of the upstairs people apparently discovered the contractor visitor they had had in the day before was a ‘Close Contact’. The people who owned the top floor went to their ‘Plan’ and sent everyone home. Not into isolation, just ‘not at work’.

So my Lords and Paymasters – who use the bottom floor of this building – decided that we should also go home and by ‘we’ included everyone on the site. So the people in the two completely separate buildings we also occupy went home and had a four day weekend. Again, not asked to isolate or test, just told to not be at work.

      That was early last month.

Come today. Someone in the other building (the first one from above) from our company actually tested positive. (and I FINALLY have one degree of separation with a COVID CASE!!!! Only taken 23 months!) As a result everyone in that building was sent home.

Everyone in the other two buildings (who you will remember were also sent home last month) have been told to not go into the first building (which is locked and empty anyway) but to otherwise keep working as per normal. Where I work and the ‘infected’ building there is a car park dividing us. Maybe 40m if I could be bothered to measure.

Last month? Close Contact? EVERYONE go home.
This month? Actual case? That carpark distance is enough to keep you ‘safe’. Keep working.

So even when there are not formal restriction changes, there are restriction changes.

    Wrong party.
// Whatever Mr. O’Toole’s failings, nothing he has done or not done adds up to a firing offence. What Pierre Poilievre, Candice Bergen and Andrew Scheer have done in recent days, on the other hand, is. Their decision to ally themselves with the pseudo-Trumpian grift known as the “trucker” convoy – organized and led by documented racists and QAnon-style nutters, unrepresentative of the vast majority of truckers and indeed having little to do with truckers or even vaccine mandates – is not just a moral disgrace, but will do lasting damage to the party. //

    1. If Coyne says it, you know it’s wrong. He’s so establishment his fucking underwear is “Laurentian Elite” brand.

    2. Andrew Coyne has always been a lying liberal critter whose every utterance is absolute garbage.

    3. In politics, losing the support of your base, and losing an election against the weakest government in recent memory are indeed firing offences.

    4. dizzy,

      WOW!

I haven’t paid any attention to MSM for over a year now. Your Andrew Coyne post floored me. Has he even bothered to go to Ottawa, or seen the thousands of people from all walks of life that have stood out in very Canadian winter weather to show support? These last 2 years he hasn’t suffered evidently, and has no empathy for those “other” (lesser) Canadians that have. I am hoping that his extreme remarks are a sign of just how nervous he is.

The Trucker Freedom Convoy has made me proud to be Canadian again. Reading Mr. Coyne’s comments, it is clear that a certain type of elitist central Canadian, do not wish to understand the majority of ordinary Canadians. Obviously, name calling is the only arrow in his quiver. No need making an effort to understand the view of these truckers, they are not the kind of people Mr. Coyne has anything to do with. Dangerous attitude IMO, for a journalist.

      1. << The Trucker Freedom Convoy has made me proud to be Canadian again. ..

This Omicronvoy is not just a bunch of well-intentioned patriots who have been joined by the Fuck Trudeau crowd.
The initiators aim was to demand that the Governor General dismiss the government and …..
Instead of getting rid of Trudeau, they have given the Conservatives the chance to dissolve into factions.

        1. OMG dissolved into factions, oh noes, anything but that. Because being a part of O’Toole human centipede worked out so great in the past.

    5. Dizzy, you should visit a doctor. Not just a doctor, a research clinic. You are a unique specimen. It defies medical science that your sphincter still haven’t cut the oxygen supply to your head. Talk about advanced anal-cranial eclipse.

      Let’s go potato!

        1. You must be new here: it is dizzy’s opinion. Stick around you’ll se. This passive aggressive citing shtick is all he does.

    6. dizzy

I think that jamesHalifax’s comment from a previous SDA post, is a particularly appropriate answer to Mr. Coyne, those in MSM and any who share his narrow minded views.

I hope that jamesHalifax won’t mind if I quote him?
“The Canadian medias commitment to accuracy and truth.is about a genuine as Caitlan Jenners vagina.”

    7. Ah yes, the Freedom Convoy isn’t made up of truckers. Who should I believe, statist shill Andrew Coyne and lackwit dizzy, or my darn lying eyes?

    8. The conservative party has already, effectively, shot themselves in the head.

Unless people like Pierre, Candace, etc., can kick the conservative party massively back to the right they will lose a LOT of seats in rural Ontario. Pierre, Candace, etc., correctly, sense an opportunity.

Same for the provincial conservatives. With the excessive mandates and closures Ford has effectively pushed the self destruct button.

It will be interesting to see how many votes, and maybe some seats, the PPC and Ontario Party and New Blue take from the liberals and the conservatives in the next federal and provincial elections. If it really matters.

  16. Those guys at the border will be pulled in from all across the west. The rcmp are smart enough not to use the local detachment because they know there will be blow back. The High River operation was all out of town mounties.

The farmers are not to be fooled with. The mounties know they are prepared to go to jail to sell their grain. This thing has the potential to get out of hand.

    1. And it has the potential to change minds. Say, for instance, the Liar Kenney. He can stop this bullshit with one phone call.

    2. They can bring in others all they like, you wear the Librano red serge, you own the actions of the other Librano members. No difference. It wan’t me is not good enough, what did you do to stop it?

  17. This is what losing consent of the governed looks like…politicians take note.

I read something today that I thought was interesting. In Canada, truckers, ranchers and farmers care more about medical freedom than the entire medical profession. I’d add that truckers, ranchers and farmers care more about human and civil rights than the entire academic community, political class and media. The “talkers” are completely useless – it’s the “doers”, the salt of the earth, that get things done.

  18. Probably posted this on wrong place.John Robertson

I remain curious about the Coutts Crossing.
What will it avail the Canadian Idiots,I mean “Authorities” to clear the Canadian Side, only to have the American Truckers close the Southern Side and Exits?
Kenny is obviously too stupid to resign, makes you wonder just what the extortion material is?
    Probably Young Boys.
Our poor effete elites, too stupid to recognize they are doomed…
    What is the plan?
The mounties are become as stupid as the politicians?

  19. I met Kenny 20 years ago when he was campigning down our way for the Feds. His views were nothing like the tin pot authoritarian he has become. I think extortion is a possibility. Our CSIS and RCMP would be just the corrupt garbage to act as the Librano dirty tricks squad.

    1. A lot of politicians turn that way. They start believing their own bullshit, get caught up in the control, want more power.

I don’t know Kenney the Liar personally, but if I did I’d punch him in the mouth, just to see if it would knock some sense into him. Never liked him as a fed, even less so as premiere.

      1. I’ll never forget Rona Ambrose saying at a town hall after her first term, that she had no idea how powerful lobbyists are. I’m sure she is right. Also Bureaucrats. Top bureaucrats should be on 2 year contracts or something.

  20. Just talked with a buddy of mine from the area. He passed through an RCMP road block at Warner, 11 miles north of Milk River & 22 miles north of Coutts. Cop told him too many people were taking the country roads & going around them.

I’m no tactician but I see no sense in that logic. All people have to do is get on the gravel roads earlier. These guys sound like the Keystone Kops.

    1. “These guys sound like the Keystone Kops.”

I think they really do not want to be there in the first place. So they follow orders to the extent that will not get them fired, and if things don’t work out the way order givers desire… oopsie daisy we tried.

They look a bit like the last guards under the Berlin Wall.

    1. Yep, this is what happens when you loose the consent of the governed. Good luck playing whack a mole.

  21. Andrew Coyne doesn’t like the way the rabble hold their shrimp forks.

    Tally ho!

    Yippee Kiyaa Liberal Trucker!

    1. The Coyne family are deeply connected to the Trudeau dynasty. Andrews sister Deborah was being deeply rogered by Papa Pierre. The result being a daughter named Sarah presently attending Warton Univ. in the USA. Such a lovely bunch.

  22. Interesting to see convoys in Holland and Australia getting up and rolling meanwhile where are the truckers in America? Are they going to repeat history, always the last ones into the fight! Let’s get your fingers out boys, get on the tarmac and put the hammer down!

    1. I read something this afternoon that showed a poster indicating a convoy arriving in DC on March 31. Sorry, can’t find it now.
