In at least three provinces lately, Canadians who are double-vaccinated have been more likely to test positive for COVID than the unvaccinated, a fact that has been seized on by anti-vaccination activists as supposed evidence the shots don’t work.

On Monday in Alberta , for instance, 89 in 100,000 people who had received two doses of vaccine tested positive for the coronavirus, compared to 68 in 100,000 of those who have so far avoided vaccination.

But experts say the trend probably stems from statistical “biases” — the nature of the people who have been getting tested and who most frequently were exposed to the virus — and definitely not some strange quirk of immunization. […]

“It’s curious,” admits Dr. Mark Loeb, an infectious-disease doctor and professor at McMaster University. “The first thing for me that comes to mind is, I don’t see any biological explanation for this. I don’t think that makes sense.”

The “confusing” trend can be logically explained but “it behooves us not to hide from these data or to minimize them, but instead to wrestle with them,” says University of Ottawa epidemiologist Raywat Deonandan.

77% of yesterday’s new cases in Saskatchewan were among the fully vaccinated, who make up about 74% of the population. Yes, it’s probably skewed by the fact that the unvaccinated are less likely to seek out testing and be added to the official government count, unless they’re truly sick. But that’s always been the case, and the shift in relative percentages have been moving steadily toward equilibrium just the same.

The passport mandate is logically unsustainable and scientifically unsound, and judging by the recent signals, the Saskatchewan government knows it.

      My takeaway from the articles desperate search for a narrative, is that they don’t know anything about these experimental vaccines.

            As of 31 December 2021, AstraZeneca may be ready to entertain requests for data from several of its large phase III trials. But actually obtaining data could be slow going.     Now the only ‘common good’ argument left is that the public should reduce their chances of being a burden on the health care system by…….only getting vaccinated, nothing else.

  10. Go take a look at Ourworldindata. And check out the percent vaccinated, new weekly confirmed cases per million and new weekly confirmed deaths in each of the categories, High Income, High Middle Income, Low Middle Income and Low Income groups of countries.

    You will find a very clear NEGATIVE impact of “vaccines”….and I don’t mean just a little.

    For example, the High Income group of countries has a fully vaccinated rate of 71.79% and 12,915.40 new weekly confirmed cases per million and 26.17 new weekly confirmed deaths per million. The Low Income group of countries has a fully vaccinated rate of 5.21% and 36.37 new weekly confirmed cases per million and .63 new weekly confirmed deaths per million.

    And when you check the High Middle Income and Low Middle Income groups of countries you find that the data is in relation to the percentage vaxxed.

    These mRNA vaccines MUST be stopped. Or given in heavy doses to Liberals and those who push vax mandates.

    7. Ivan, in Saskatchewan, with the published rates of hospital use, the absolute risks of unvaccinated and vaccinated, you can calculate the number of ICU beds that would be freed up if every pureblood were hunted down and shot up. That number is three. Three beds.

    8. Saskatchewan has less ICU beds today (80) than they had two years (100). It doesn’t help that they are renovating the ICU at University Hospital in Saskatoon.
      Check out Alex Berenson, Steve Kirsch, and El Gato Malo articles at substack. They have articles showing the results of analysis of data from the UK National Institute of Health, as well as Denmark and Israel. These countries don’t hide their data. The NIH publishes weekly data. It shows that the vaccine efficacy wanes over time, and is effectively zero at six months. And it is -20 percent after 8 months. This means the immune systems of people who are vaccinated have been compromised, perhaps permanently.
      Of course nobody knew that would happen because there were no long term trials. Other than the massive trial that is going on right now with 80 percent of the population participating.

      By “how”, I mean the method by which showing a piece of paper to a waitress keeps hospitals unclogged: explain how the process works, from first point of contact to the empty hospital bed, using a logical argument and evidence.

      In my opinion, there’s better evidence to support BMI as the deciding criteria for restaurant/bar/etc admission.

    1. Those vaccines were always only 1% absolute effectiveness. Plus trials ( and continuing) ignored the side effects and potential overall weakening of the immune system. It’s ludicrous to think that at 1% they would have any impact on the pandemic. I worry about all the heart attacks, strokes, neurological problems, cancers, etc. that are cropping up in the post vaccine population. This is not insignificant.

  18. I am suspicious about the claim that the vaccines reduce severity. Viruses typically become less virulent with successive waves and variations. I am beginning to doubt that the vaccines do anything at all to reduce cases or severity.

    1. The empirical evidence that vaccines do reduce symptoms is very strong, as is the (anecdotal but convincing) testimony of health care workers. As you go from infected to hospitalized to admitted to ICU to dead, the percentage of unvaccinated steadily increases.

    2. I think you’re wrong about that. The evidence that vaccination reduces severity and death rate is compelling, as is the evidence that risk-reward improves with age, body weight and comorbidities. (It’s not a team sport, you don’t always have to carry the ball in the same direction).

      1. Hmmm….don’t think that is necessarily true. Of course, it is difficult to get raw complete data, but the UK comes closest. And what it shows (and has consistently shown) is that those in the plus 70 age group who have been double vaxxed are the majority of all deaths. So the question is….what killed them? Covid, the vaccine itself or the fact that the second vax lowered their immunity?

        Both of my inlaws in their 80’s died within 28 days of their second shot. The first had a stroke a week after the shot and the other died in three weeks. No autopsies of course.

        1. As of today’s numbers in Alberta: since Jan 1, 2022 we’ve had 209 deaths, 54 unvaccinated and 155 vaccinated – 74.2%
          The age categories 1-5+, 1-12+, 1-20+, 1-30+, 4-40+, 11-50+, 22-60+, 56-70+, 113-80+

          Our fully vaccinated percentage in the province is 74.1% (all ages). Of course with the majority of these deaths in the 70+ category we have to consider that ~95% are fully vaxxed there.

          As I have had the privilege of delivering a friend and neighbor to emergency following her booster and subsequent heart attack, (same day), I look at these and wonder if anything we have done, including the vaccinations has actually helped to protect ‘the most vulnerable’.

          Today all the deaths were of vaccinated people. I will continue to watch to see where this goes.

  21. Heard from Sis in Fla. In a nutshell, her significant other recently visited with a Cardiologist and has been diagnosed with Atrial-Fibrillation. He now has to take blood thinners and undergo more tests. In the meantime he is in agony, can hardly walk, has weak arms, poor appetite, and is very fatigued. He has turned into a sick old man in the space of one year after enjoying life and always maintaining a joie de vivre that I’m sure he now misses.

    Note: Our various hypochondriac governments suggested what this poor man took, ie., 2 COVID (Moderna) vaxxes, 1 booster, and a seasonal flu shot.

  22. Would like to point out that of the several in my circle who have tested positive with the kits or just assumed they had it because they were sick, all were double/boosted and not one case was reported to authorities. So the real total is probably much, much higher.

The MLAs in the Saskatchewan Party have been 100% complicit with Moe’s removal of human rights and civil rights from citizen’s who refused to be coerced to give up their rights to medical and bodily autonomy. I, for one, will never forget the segregation, discrimination and oppression committed by the Saskatchewan government. It was abuse of government power and I think they will have no moral qualms about doing it again.

  26. I’ve observed a big change in the way success of the pandemic response is measured. Until recently, raw hospital and ICU numbers were fine as long as the vast majority were unvaxxed. A couple of months ago, that abruptly changed. Now success is gauged by the fact that the proportion of hospitalizations among the vaxxed are lower than the proportion among the unvaxxed. Ergo, mass vaccination is a success story.

    What’s missing from this metric is any indication of the end game, or when one could conceivably declare victory. Reminds me of a war in which success is declared when our side captures a larger chunk of territory from the enemy than they just finished capturing from us. That’s not actually success, but merely a means of defining failure out of existence.

      This should fix that hurt.

      1. The data from the UK is instructive. For example, the latest UK vaccine surveillance report indicates that the deaths are heavily skewed to the plus 70 age groups (76% of all deaths). The data also shows that as the number of vaccines in those groups increases (one shot, two shot, two with booster), the number of deaths in that group ALSO increases.

        For example the number of deaths in the 70-79 age group who have received one shot is 79, the number who have received two shots is 803 and the number who have received two shots and a booster is 1,256. You see the same data structure in the 80 and over group.

    5. No they don’t. In fact, if you look at the data out of the UK, you will find that the majority of the deaths CONSISTENTLY since last fall are in the plus 70 age group double vaxxed. Perhaps it is in the definition of “vaccinated” that causes you difficulty in analyzing data.

  29. Wow talk about a propaganda piece that talks in circular logic, no doctors aren’t confused but they seem to scared to point out the vaccines have been an absolute failure and the side effects could cripple our healthcare system more so than covid ever did.

      The article clearly states that unvaxxed people WHO HAVE ALREADY HAD COVID had lower rates of infection than those who simply had vaccinations.

      In short, getting the disease improves your immunity more than vaccination does. Interesting but not earth shattering.

      1. Strange that. An immune system triggered by the actual virus performs better than an immune system triggered by an mRNA-induced spike protein. Now why would that be, I wonder? Does the chickenpox vax give you less immunity than getting the chickenpox?

        HINT: The mRNA vaxxes don’t really do what they’re supposed to. There’s some other weird mechanism at work here that no one has adequately explained to the recipients of it. Just another bullet point on the “didn’t give informed consent” list.
