  2. Proof of vaccination is now required for essential workers entering the USA as of Jan 22. I crossed at Pembina ND this AM and they didn’t bother asking. Is this because they know of the Canadian requirement, therefore there shouldn’t be any Canadian drivers heading south anyways? Or maybe because Let’s Go Brandon?

  3. Reuters left out a part of the story: Sweden scrapped the test and brought back the vaccine passport:

    “This means that adult foreign citizens (again with certain exceptions) travelling to Sweden from EU/EEA countries, including the Nordics, will have to show either the EU’s Digital Covid Certificate or a valid equivalent which shows that the person is either fully vaccinated with a first and second dose, tested negative no more than 72 hours before arrival, or recovered from confirmed infection in the past six months”

  7. Just returned from 2 weeks in Cancun: I am triple vaxxed, paid USD$100 to have PCR test done before flight home (negative result) and upon arrival in Canada our plane was “randomly selected” to be tested again for covid.

    There were 15 kiosks manned by people in hazmat/PPE gear ready to register us plus more employees to conduct testing on-site. (Will they ever shut this racket down and fire all these employees? Doubt it) I was given an at home test that could be picked up by FedEx and will have to isolate at home for 3 days or until I get my results back. The sheer cost of this to the govt boggles the mind. An RCMP officer in the area told us he’s seen an increase from 30% of flights getting tested to what he estimates as 70% being tested.

    So why did I bother to get vaxxed and boosted and pay for a PCR in Mexico only to be imprisoned in my home for 3 days when I got back?

    This is the insanity of the Trudeau govt. and a good percentage of the Canadian public laps it up. Liberals love covid theater (no matter what it costs or what good it actually does) and will never give up the control they have over our lives.

    1. I’m not lapping up anything. I made a choice regarding vaccines as I felt there are no guarantees on how many years I have left this side of the dirt. And frankly I want to enjoy what I have left of my life traveling, etc. Therefore, I did what I had to do to make that happen, albeit begrudgingly. I fully support those who choose not to get vaccinated and I despise the “othering” of unvaccinated people – it is tearing apart our society. But the choice I made does not mean I cannot criticize the inane rules of this govt and push for a return to sanity.

    Ohhhhhh yeahhhhh … Sweden is a “Socialist” country. They’ll get paid to do nothing. Sounds like a win-win!
