Stop the presses! Insert record screech here. A controversy has erupted here in Reader Tips, Christmas edition!
SDA follower Anita has brought to Kate’s attention that Clement Clarke Moore may not be the actual author of the poem I’ve been quoting from. The actual author may very well be Henry Livingston! Apparently, in this book, Don Foster makes a solid argument in favour of Livingston being the actual author of the poem.
So . . .
“Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
In the spirit of Henry Livingston or Clement Clarke Moore’s famous poem, this evening we learn more about reindeer and enjoy this classic song by Gene Autry.
Your tips of the past day are much appreciated!

How about a pair of Roger Moore movies that have nothing to do with James Bond?
Ffolkes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPQua0Hg7N4
This stinker went by several names. It was released as Ffolkes, but was shown on commercial TV as Action Force and now it appears to have acquired the title North Sea Hijack.
The Wild Geese:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqz2WvoCM20
This one’s somewhat better, but not as good as the Christopher Walken flick The Dogs of War.
Both are directed by Andrew McLaglen, who also directed Moore in The Sea Wolves.
Love the old Admiral radio in Gene Autry’s Youtube song and video. We had what they called a ”buffet” in our farm kitchen. A hardwood cabinet that was most often used to store fancy dishes and silverware. On top, we had a Zenith battery powered radio and when I was young, Gene Autry was on CHAB Moose Jaw every hour with one or more Christmas songs. And trust me when I tell you that nobody but nobody would have ever heard that song if it wasn’t for Gene Autry.
Check this out. Just scroll down the page to ”Discography.” And to think that few younger people today would even know who he really was.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Autry
Aside from being a singer and playing a singing cowboy in the movies, Autry was also a sharp businessman. He owned a baseball team, several radio stations, and a few hotels.
IIRC, according to Ken Burns’ “Country Music,” Autry’s wife kept a record of all his fan mail. When he visited a town, he would personally contact fans who lived there. What a guy!
I believe he owned the (now) California Angels baseball team.
Possibly the coolest (and cutest) royal alive.

Prinz Dummkopf has become a tyrant. I’m sure that the Librano-bought MSM will completely ignore it or, if it doesn’t, will claim that the Menzoid had it coming.
Exactly that. MSM would be apoplectic had Harper’s goons shown less than maximum respect to a CBC/Global/CTV/Red Star/etc drone but Rebel is a fair target. Once they have proclaimed that “it is ok to punch a fascist” all bets were off.
Thanks for that video Colin ,sickening to watch though .if that was a hockey fight I’d say David gave as good as he got. I believe they will rue the day they physically attacked the Rebel News as they just don’t give up
More on what happened to the Menzoid:
https://rumble.com/vqyqfq-why-did-trudeaus-bodyguards-assault-our-reporter-cameraman-lincoln-jay-reac.html
https://rumble.com/vqyu2v-raw-rebel-reporter-attacked-by-trudeaus-bodyguards.html
The attack was unprovoked and appears to have been specifically meant for him as the Rebel’s cameraman was untouched.
The thugs left the videographer alone to film in order to have video to show proof of their handiwork to the P.M. They don’t care if they have to go to Court. That’s an all expense paid day off for them. The Government, that’s we the people, foot their henchmens’ bills while they try to bankrupt Rebel News through tons of Court dates. Perhaps this is an audition tape, these guys could possibly be from a private security firm. On second viewing of this expanded video, these guys don’t look like RCMP they didn’t arrest David. Maupybe they don’t have that power.
Another thought maybe they were afraid of the young videographer. The thugs wouldn’t have a way of knowing if he knew martial arts. One swift hit below the nose could kill anyone.
It was bad enough that the bullies bloodied Menzies, broke his watch and wrecked his phone. Very sad.
As for the jolly driver of one of the guests, bet she won’t be hired again. Just my opinion. She talked too much, such as divulging information about how many people were going to be at the gathering. The boss isn’t going to like that kind of blabbering while the government types are demanding to keep gatherings at a minimum…. Well, because, COVID eh!
“But whether the (BC NDP Transport Minister) Fleming and his colleagues get around to acknowledging it or not, Trans Mountain’s efforts to restore access in the Coquihalla region also facilitated restoration of the highway itself.”
“In those early days of the (flooding) crisis, Trans Mountain teams also assisted “with transportation, fuel, food and water supplies, supplying necessary equipment, and substantial road-clearing and bridge-building efforts to connect communities that are/were completely cut off due to the flooding and landslides.” The Coldwater and Nooaitch First Nations were among the communities that were helped.”
Don’t expect any thanks from the ungrateful left…

“Quebec’s greenhouse gas emissions rose 1.5 per cent from 2018 to 2019, according to an environment ministry report released Wednesday, and the main driver of the increase was the McInnis cement factory in Port-Daniel in the Gaspésie region.”
“Quebec Environment Minister Benoit Charette blamed previous governments, saying actions to reduce emissions in Quebec were insufficient “and many choices were not shrewd,” including the reopening of the McInnis plant.”
Wouldn’t that be the same plant that Trudeau’s Liberal Government kindly exempted from any kind of environmental assessment? Why, yes it is!
Shut up, Alberta! Your emmissions are not welcome.
Do as I say, not as I do.

“Why did the Quebec government hand millions to an emission-belching, billionaire-owned cement factory?”
https://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/in-quebec-a-government-supported-cement-factory-encased-in-hypocrisy/
“The Quebec government issued a $250-million loan and invested $100 million, then sidestepped its own environmental regulations in order to hang on to a key riding in a far-flung region—and curry favour with Laurent Beaudoin, the scion of the Bombardier clan, one of Quebec’s most politically influential families. (La Caisse de dépôt, the province’s public pension fund manager, also invested $100 million.)”
“…will emit between 1.8 and 2.2 million tonnes of greenhouse gases a year… the largest emitter of carbon in the province… and willl dwarf the yearly emissions of Shell Canada’s oil sands operations in Fort McMurray, Alta.”
“(The cement plant) will also rival, if not exceed, the emissions associated with the Energy East pipeline project, which Quebec has opposed on environmental grounds…. from a single location—without an environmental assessment.”
The cement is essential for the foundations of the hundreds of thousands of wind turbines that will free us from nasty hydrocarbons/ sarc
“This mess is now in the hands of Premier Legault, the man who called out Alberta for its dirty oil while presiding over a spanking-new, champion greenhouse-gas emitter in the Gaspé.”
https://ipolitics.ca/2019/01/11/quebec-cement-plant-boondoggle-offers-lessons-for-albertas-notley/
Why, NO It’s not.
The Quebec PROVINCIAL Liberal government of 2015 waived environmental assessments to get the Bombardier-owned McInnis cement plant built in the Gaspe region.
The FEDERAL Liberals waived environmental assessments on A DIFFERENT cement plant, Colacem, northwest of Montreal…
https://naturecanada.ca/news/blog/environment-minister-mckenna-refuses-to-assess-cement-plant-with-one-megaton-ghg-emissions/
Maybe we should fill the prairie provinces with cement plants owned by well-connected Quebec firms.
If they are talking CO2 it matters not as CO2 is not a climate driver.

I suspect our Ontario Premier Ford has been promised a return to office next election by being a good corrupted politician by promoting this ‘Booster’ that he now fully is behind in everyone getting this joy juice jab.

the population of Ottawa is 1 million people and the federal gov’t employs 140,000 in the region. Translation 14% of the population of Ottawa works for the government. The term work is used with tongue in cheek.
Your comment reminds me of the following joke.
“How many people work at your office?”
“About a quarter of them.”
Heh!
I am surprised – when I visited this past summer, I could have sworn that at least 50% of the population worked for the federal government!
Liberal Party committee members voted down a demand that federal agencies stop buying masks from China, and only buy Canadian made masks.

If you’re watching the China real estate market implode (think Evergrande), China Fortune Land gave China Create Capital $300 million to invest and was expecting a 7-10% return (annually) on its investment. Unfortunately, China Create Capital seems to have created capital and then vanished.
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/china-fortune-land-gave-313-million-to-a-wealth-manager-now-the-developer-can-t-find-it/ar-AARUeXO?ocid=entnewsntp
“China Fortune Land Development said in a stock exchange filing on Thursday that it entrusted the money to China Create Capital, a company registered in the British Virgin Islands, to invest in fixed-income financial products.”
In prior years I would have suggested they should have known the risk entrusting their money to an offshore tax haven. But I’ve smartened up a lot in recent years and realize it is all a scam to relieve people of their money. Yes, the China Fortune Land Development company would have known (probably planned and took kick-backs) that the BVI company would walk. But that’s just MHO. How can you do a deal in 2021 for $300 million and then everyone just disappears? You’re not looking for them, are you?
But it begs a bigger question. If investment companies are charging 2.5% management fees, if the average inflation rate is running at 4.0% (over 8% right now), if “we” (the people) are being promised 6-8% annual yields on our investments, if individuals are stealing a large chunk of our investment income, then isn’t this whole system one big Ponzi scheme that will come crashing down when enough of us aging boomers start asking for our money back?
From Brian Lilley: a Dr. Peter Juni, from something called the Science Table, on CBC Power and Politics, said that Ontario restaurant workers should “stop moaning”:
https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/lilley-science-table-top-doc-tells-restaurant-workers-to-stop-moaning
He suggested that Ontario restaurants move to a maximum 25% capacity. Dr. Juni said that workers and owners should accept income cuts, and that that is not the end of the world.
Diversity is our strength.

If only Big Government got even bigger, we would have more of these success stories:
“The federal government’s plan to build new ships for Canada’s navy and coast guard has been hit by more skyrocketing costs.
The latest blow came in a report released Thursday by parliamentary budget officer Yves Giroux, who estimates Ottawa’s decision to build two new polar icebreakers for the Canadian Coast Guard will cost $7.25 billion.
That represents a dramatic increase over the government’s most recent estimate, released back in 2013, that it would cost $1.3 billion to build one such vessel.”

Another one of my occasional movie alerts.
Monday night, Turner Classic Movies will be showing a different kind of Philip Marlowe movie, Lady in the Lake, starring Robert Montgomery. This one has a twist to it as it’s largely shot from the main character’s perspective, as if the viewer actually is Marlowe.
That’s followed by nice little Edward G. Robinson comedy Larceny, Inc., also featuring Broderick Crawford, a young Anthony Quinn, and a small role for Canadian-born character actor John Qualen.
If you’ve watched a lot of classic movies, you’ll likely recognize Qualen. He played the Norwegian resistance leader in Casablanca, a farmer in The Searchers, and a restaurant owner in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

O, Sweet Saint of San Andreas… Leave That Trunk Open!
With Bay Area car break-ins on the rise, people are going to great lengths to avoid having their windows smashed… Even leaving their trunks open.

The end of an era–the World Radio TV Handbook is to stop publication:
https://ei7gl.blogspot.com/2021/12/end-of-road-for-world-radio-tv-handbook.html
It was a standard reference for broadcasters and hobbyists. Back when I first started buying it in the early 1980s, it had information on just about every shortwave station on the air. Where possible, it provided not just times, frequencies, and languages, but it also had addresses, key personnel, and information on a station’s interval music. I relied on it while I was an active shortwave listener.
