  1. During the press conference today held by the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario, the bought and paid for media were outraged that no new restrictions were announced. Christmas must be cancelled to save Ramadan.

    1. While driving today I listened to the idiots on two of the local AM radio stations.
      They are completely out of touch with reality regarding covid.
      Listening to radio news is surreal. They are completely divorced from reality in their panic filled covid echo chamber.

      To recap: We’re all gonna die from omicron.

      I seriously doubt if any of them have the intelligence to question anything they are fed.
      It isn’t a matter or morality or courage, they are just too dammed dumb to think of questioning anything they are told.
      A tape recorder has more free will and more independence of thought than these pathetic slow brained losers and weirdos.

      Journalism certainly attracts and retains the dumbest of the dumb these days.
      Where else could they work?

          Whoever it is that may be the “central scrutinizer” conglomerate that owns all the radio stations, they/them have, from on high, duly received and sheepishly broadcasted the official memo for the masses, whether said masses are listening to “new country,” (with cheap whiskey and blue jeans on), or “talk radio,” ( while clutching a Tim’s fake coffee), or even suffering more “classic rock,” (with an AC/DC black T shirt)…. or, Odin forbid, while listening to the endless dreck on the CBC….
          They all Obey and cinch up their useless masks and surveil their neighbours for any infractions or peccadillos.
          Meanwhile, I laugh in derision while listening to Keith Jarrett right now, as I sip a whiskey and continue to think for myself, without the noisome noise of a syndicated radio to impede my better thoughts.

I have been a Broadcaster for 35 years, in music, news, and sports, still am, and I can assure you everyone in my newsroom is scared to death and 100% in favour of every nonsense rule the government comes up with. We have mostly Socialists and proud Communists doing the news in my city. They are not inquisitive journalists, they are government ditto machines. They question nothing.

          Just last week, I got a phone call from a telemarketing/data collection firm wanting me to join a virtual focus group to track my radio listening habits. I told them I don’t listen to radio or tv. I get my music/news/weather from the internet. I told them I’ve listened to the car radio while in a friend’s car, just to be sociable.

          They wanted me to join their focus group to represent those radio listeners who no longer listen to radio.

          I thanked them for their time.

        2. For the past few weeks, I’ve been getting telephone calls from Numeris, presumably to participate in some audience survey. (Maybe it’s the outfit that called you, TOL.) The moment the caller identifies who they represent, I hang up. I seriously doubt that anybody’s really interested in what I have to say.

    1. Off topic. Do you know who the big Montanan bootlegger was back in the ’20s? There was a lot of bootlegging in Saskatchewan going to Al Capone through the southeast part of the Province. That said, there was a similarly large amount also going out the Southwest part of the Province, down to Denver and points west.

      Everybody talks about Al Capone, but nobody talks about the Montanan who supplied the western part of the United States. I’m just curious if you would know.

    We’ve seen some masks, mostly in Miami, but the difference has been it’s their choice and they don’t care that you choose not to. It’s been so refreshing and simultaneously depressing knowing we can’t stay.

        I was listening to an edition of a certain amateur radio podcast a few days ago and that topic came up in the conversation with the guest. He uses an defunct microwave oven for that, storing at least one radio inside it….. just in case.

        It makes sense to me. Take an old microwave oven, remove its electronics (the heaviest item would be the transformer–dropping it on your foot will make you say “Ouch!”), and you’re set.

    1. New Brunswick effectively cancelled Thanksgiving. The people didn’t buck it at all. Just sighed and said oh so sad and complied. Some families no doubt just got together the following weekend, but those who were planning to come from afar were screwed.

      So if you think that Canadians will refuse to comply with Christmas restrictions, I’m afraid there’s a very recent example that you are sadly mistaken.

        I have a recollection that this may be possible. That’s why transplant patients were encouraged to take a third jab a few months ago, precisely for that reason. To overcome the immunosuppressants tendency of doing that… I think. If so, then it might be a way of getting rid of this supposed vaccine out of ones system if necessary.

    Yes, let’s half the gate at arenas and try to, once again, tell citizens how to celebrate Christmas. They must march to that bridge to far, it’s the progressive to collectivist way. The galling part is we let them, assuming their wisdom as they screw up every issue.

    My cynical mind tells me this “get used to it” attitude is cover for their upcoming devastating economic failure of green new raw deals.

    They insist on punishing the productive sector of society, that has shown zero mortality risk from covid, while they fail to protect the vulnerable, wave after wave, variant after variant, letting the exception be the rule, masking our children’s development.

    To cover for their incompetence, now headlong into negligence as lockdown societal costs and economic dislocations dwarf Omicron.

    Political power is like a baseball field; if you let them, they will take it, and always the most ego-centric, amoral and mean spirited.
