My hope is that this winter will show so many of these events – all “fully vaccinated” events that result in super spreader incidents that even the complete dullards will eventually start to notice that the pass – and the vaccine – are pointless. Saw this article linked in the main one. Ontario is now testing wastewater to identify Covid…which then locks the facility into modified quarantine and likely forces people to be tested. I thought testing wastewater was being done to generally identify extent of community spread, not to target people for forced quarantine. Sustained an injury – skin tear/laceration – at work last week. Supervisor said to hit the local walk in center. Mask mandatory there. Among standard questions asked was “Have you been vaccinated for COVID?” Replied “Absolutely NOT!”
Doctor cleaned out the wound, re-seated tear, applied Steri-Strips … then asked, “When was your last tetanus vaccination?” Replied “Less than 10 years ago, but let me check.” Checked wallet card. Yep. Six years ago. Tdap.
Doctor started pushing for a fresh tetanus shot, which I countered with “I thought they were good for 10 years.” Doctors said that used to be the case but they now suggest them every five years. I declined a “fresh” shot. Doctor persisted “…I can’t force you, but…” I stood my ground and refused. Doctor reluctantly gave up.
Just checked the CDC website and it says 10 years.
So now I’m curious why the doctor – an otherwise quite likeable person – was so adamant about me getting a fresh tetanus shot and where the heck did this new “every five years” directive come from?

Vaccine passports are unethical, authoritarian garbage that have no place in a free society….even if the vaccines and passport system worked as designed. Most of our political leaders in Canada publicly agreed that they were unethical until they all suddenly flipped to the dark side a few months ago. That the vaccine passports are a complete and utter failure is just dark comedy at this point.
I have a “Modest Proposal” if they want a system that has a better chance of working to prevent hospitalizations and over capacity ICUs. Strict lockdowns for those that are at most risk of being hospitalized – the elderly, those with serious health issues and anyone with a BMI over 25 (unless they’re a body builders). No jobs, no restaurants, no movie theatres, no entrance to liquor stores (sask only). All the same restrictions as the unvaccinated. As a bonus, BMI restrictions would include many premiers, politicians and public health bureaucrats – let Kenny, Ford, Hogan, Moe and the rest live under the rules and restrictions they have imposed on others
Cruel, unfair, unethical, immoral ? Yep, absolutely. So are vaccine passports, job losses and lockdowns for healthy people who don’t have covid and covid recovered people.
The only wait they are actually going to limit spread is to encourage testing, if limiting spread is indeed the correct solution here. If they had spent the vaccine money on testing, even on self-tests, or the vaxx passport money on testing we would be better equipped.
Putting on my tinfoil hat: if one had completely terrified one’s population but wanted to allow a disease to rip through a society and therefore confer immunity, one might give out a vaccine making people think that it renders them immune when it doesn’t. But while our government is certainly that machiavellian, it isn’t run by people who are intelligent or competent enough for something like that.
When a bureaucratic nitwit panics and stampedes the rest of that gullible group into idiotic action,there is no down side for them.
