  5. I finished watching the video a few minutes ago. It was fun to see how many of the actor/dancers I recognized as well as which movies those clips were from. It ended on a classy note with Ann Miller.

    Speaking of movies and dancing, a number of scenes from West Side Story were shown. I was listening to Channel 76/Symphony Hall on SiriusXM on my way home from my house in B. C. yesterday and one of the hosts mentioned that a remake of that movie is about to be released. Checking the cast list on IMDB, I noticed that Rita Moreno has a part in it.

    I can’t see how a re-make could say anything new, different, or better than the original. I noticed that Spielberg’s directing, so I’m not all that optimistic about how it would compare with the Robert Wise/Jerome Robbins movie.

      1. A buddy of mine has a son who applied to UBC engineering. He was accepted and being a smart farm kid went out to scope it out.

        His impression was not favorable. Came home and told his parents he felt it was too much party and not serious. He’s in his final year at Dal.

        While I was waiting for my taxi back to the airport, I wandered around the campus for a few minutes. At that time, some Chinese students had constructed a makeshift memorial to those who were killed at Tiananmen Square. I have no idea how long it was there or, for that matter, how long it remained.

        I doubt that that could happen nowadays.

    Democrats are scared that Prezzy F. Joe Biden is going to cause a Democrat Electoral Disaster in 2022, and another blow out in 2024. VP Kamala Harris is so unpopular, uncharismatic, and unlikeable that she is no solution for their Senile Joe Biden problem. Add in the open warfare between the Progressives led by AOC with Non-Democrat Bernie Sanders, against semi-sane Democrats like Joe Manchin and (I never thought I would say this back in 2018!) Kyrsten Sinema. The Democrat Party is in disarray and IMPLODING. How to fix this?

    First the Democrats have to get rid of VP Harris. She has a 28% approval rating. Even the Democrats hate her. How? I don’t know. Maybe appoint her to the US Supreme Court, just tell AJ Stephen Breyer he needs to retire, or one of the other lumpen democrats like AJ Sotomayor or AJ Kagan. Maybe honestly tell Kamala how much she sucks and her choice are to resign and that Newsom will put her on the California Supreme Court or Else. She goes home to California, and all the rumors about Arkancide just disappear?

    OKAY. 1/4 way there. What next? Well Senile Joe still has to go! Oops, I mean Let’s Go Brandon!
    Joe is less popular than Tricky Dicky was ever in his first term. 2022 will be a bloodbath for Democrats unless Joe is replaced, and the Democrats become united. What to do? What to do?

    Who can replace President Joe Biden? How can they prevent Donald Trump from taking over the White House in 2024? The economy is a wreck, inflation is skyrocketing, there are shortages of everything, COVID is not going away. The Mexican Border is overrun by refugees and illegal immigrants. The military is about to be gutted and lose 10-20% of their best troops and officers. The Afghanistan Withdrawal was a FIASCO. 10,000 US Citizens and Green Card Holders are trapped in Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Not even Super Democrats Obama, Clinton and FDR combined could fix these problems before the Democrats take the blame and are routed in 2022 and again in 2024! It is Hopeless!!!

    They need to bite the bullet and replace F. Joe Biden FAST!!! But who? They need to Unite the Party! They need to find someone that is NOT A DEMOCRAT to blame all these disasters on before November 8, 2022.     The Democrats sweep back into the White House in 2024. Come Inauguration Day, this time they do it right. They show those Rebellious Republicans who is in charge. They can rule with a Congressional Majority and an Iron Fist. They can make those Rich, White, Hateful Christian Men PAY!

    According to the story Poland stood up to the bullies and the bullies sent the “refugees” home, apparently to Irak.

  24. I’ve not seen anything official about allowing Canadians to travel back East from Vancouver through Washington. Heard something about US not requiring passports. Are PCR tests required in this emergency.

    1. I would like to know more about the situation at the land border. I am hoping that if things get desperate I can escape to the US. Not sure where in the US, but some states are not requiring vaccine passports.

    2. I just heard on CBC that the US is requiring passports. Ridiculous when thousands are crossing in the South with no intention of leaving.
