  1. Passed O’l Sean once in 2001 on a side street of Buckingham palace, he curtly nodded to me in a pleasent way as he passed and I smiled and nodded back. He and his wife then turned into a side gate of the palace.

Seemed like a decent guy by that one encounter.

  2. They missed his role as the Raisuli in The Wind and the Lion. OK, so he plays a Berber chieftain who speaks English with a Scottish accent, but he manages to pull it off.

          1. Connery’s brother was also an actor, at least for a while. I’ve got one of his flicks in my queue and I’ll post my comments about it in due course.

          1. Yes, and they did Sosabowski’s character justice too. Gene Hackman played him well.

The book is great too. Both Ryan’s famous books i.e. The Longest Day and A Bridge Too Far are excellent.

      1. His portrayal of Daniel Dravot in The Man Who Would Be King showed that he was an actor.

    1. Now that I’ve mentioned The Wind and the Lion, here’s the theme that plays over both the opening and closing credits:

It’s one of the great Jerry Goldsmith’s best movie scores, composed during a time period halfway between those for Patton and Star Trek: The Motion PIcture.

And, yes, with an intriguing opening like that, the rest of the movie is definitely worth watching. It also stars Candice Bergen, Brian Keith, and John Huston.

By the way, the movie is very loosely based on an actual incident.

  3. Climate Emergency is Over Dr. Gondek – We Do Have Time Says Friends of Science Society

“Great News! The Extreme Scenario that IPCC Saw as Most Likely in 2013 is Now Judged Low Likelihood.”

In testimony to US Congress this spring, Greta testified that there was no science behind her comments

This article is full of great information regarding climate alarmisim

      1. Watcher I would worry about that, but not because of covid, covid doesn’t exist, but there is crap load of stuff out there will kill someone quickly whose immune system has collapsed.

    1. RCP8.5 was always a joke, a lie and a political weapon; and people of reasonable intelligence who study the actual data know that there never was, and has never been a “climate emergency.”

    1. I’m a criminal. I was at my house in B. C. a few days ago and my canine step-brother stayed with me. Not once did either of us wear a mask, especially when we played “go und get it”.

We thoroughly contaminated the neighbourhood as each of his barks spread certain death. I’m sure the next time I’ll be there, the population will be considerably diminished.

        1. He managed to wake up on of the neighbourhood dogs. Once my little guy gets all excited about playing “go und get it”, he can’t stop barking. But, once he started, the other mutt, located a house or two over, decided to join in.

Mind you, some of the critters in the neighbourhood impress me as being somewhat nuts, so I wasn’t surprised that it happened.

          1. There’s lots of action like that in the park behind my house too. The neighborhood dogs, at playtime, go nuts and bark at their balls, as if to say, “again” and, “again” to their owners. When I hear that, I usually check to see if there’s play-action going on or trouble going on, causing the furious barking.

I see all sorts of stuff. (Like people falling down or getting lost, I usually offer a helping hand, if they want)

For the most part, it’s pretty quiet here. My backyard is my Nirvana, I try to sit out daily if it’s sunny. Gets me some anti-covid — vitamino ‘D’ rays!

          2. My little guy gets excited when we play “go und get it”, so he barks when he brings his toy back to me.

But he also barks when he’s in the back yard to tell the neighbourhood that he’s back in is old domain. He is lord of all he surveys.

    2. WZ
You know, the extremists about mask wearing are mostly the .govt peopleskind. I got told this week going into a province bureaucracy just dropping off an envelope. “Woops, okay hon– sorry! ”

      Heh, heh, heh!
      Hope you don’t die!!

    1. No she is not, although we may have averted Wab as premier, who’s only qualification is he’s aboriginal woke.
      Glover was the better choice.

  4. Not that the male premiers have a particularly stellar record, but I can’t think of a female that wasn’t an absolute disaster.

    1. The exceptional female politicos are few and far between, the good ones were very good, M Thatcher being one example, there are others but as I say very few.

  5. Thanks to Justin no military assault weapons were used yesterday, as diverse gunmen fired shots at a police station in diverse Toronto. Police dived for cover as bullets shattered windows.

  6. Justin is strutting his stuff, jock stance and all, on the world stage. Just another opportunity to show his dramatic expertise and show the World how stupid Canadian voters are.

  7. Perhaps this has been posted before. Why do so many people still buy into the narrative?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmfgTUjC_H4

Dr. Mattias Desmet believes people have been hypnotized by our totalitarian leaders. 30% buy-in, 30% resist and the other 40% go-along. And it always ends in a disaster.

    1. I knew it was bullshit when the first “lockdown” occurred. Not much of a leap required to see the stupidity of such a thing. healthy people do not spread illness.

    2. Bingo! Thanks for posting Steve!!!
If you want to make sense of the pandemic – I urge you to watch this video.

    1. That catch is that they have to belong to Quebec first and I’m sure Prinz Dummkopf and his buddy Steve will do what they can to bring that about.

  8. Of special interest to VOWG our go2 point man on stupidity.

    Bonhoeffer‘s Theory of Stupidity

Dietrich Bonhoeffer argued that stupid people are more dangerous than evil ones. This is because while we can protest against or fight evil people, against stupid ones we are defenseless — reasons fall on death ears. Bonhoeffer’s famous text, which we slightly edited for this video, serves any free society as a warning of what can happen when certain people gain too much power.

    1. Good read. Not much that those paying attention do not know, but a good summary of issues that are ignored by MSM.

  9. Sean’s best performance was as himself while being interviewed by Barbra Walters. He almost gave the poor thing an aneurysm.

  10. If I ever needed additional justification for my complete and utter contempt, Mulroney’s appearance today on Question Period would be enough. He is solidly behind the doctrine of the divine right of party leaders to arbitrarily impose their will on the elected MPs. Even Chretien has more class than to attack his replacement and Chretien has slightly more justification to do so. So we were entertained to the sight of a former leader, whose crowning achievement was to reduce the Progressive conservative party to two members and its eventual demise, agreeing with Trudeau’s paid presstitutes that the only issues that matter today is O’Toole’s stand on the right personal choice to be vaccinated or not and elected MPs right to have an opinion. Speaking of presstitutes, it was a full court press to criticize the conservatives and burnish the media’s credentials as good press agents before the upcoming budget season. A major benefit of Wexit is that Canada keeps Chretien, Mulroney and Trudeau. A plague on all their houses.

    1. whose crowning achievement was to reduce the Progressive conservative party to two members

Don’t forget that Dim Campbell (deliberate, but accurate, mis-spelling of her name), was PM when that happened. I suspect Mulruin saw the writing on the wall and bailed out in time to save his worthless skin, thereby leaving her holding the bag. But, yes, it was his policies and mis-management that prompted people to throw his party out on its ear.

      1. Kim Campbell brought in the first gun control as Justice Minister – a Conservative?. After that she was dead to me. Coincidentally the Reform Party was romancing me at the time. Besides, Kim waddled like a duck.

        1. Gun control in Canada is a lot older than Dim Campbell, scar. Handguns have been registered since 1934 – and you used to be able to buy silencers for .22’s, so you could shoot rats in the hen-house, out of the Sears catalogue.

  11. Question here, has anyone seen or does anyone know of any estimates regarding the amount of CO2 being generated at COP26? This would include jet exhaust, generator exhaust, etc. I am trying to figure out how close it comes to Canada’s annual CO2 emissions.

    1. They could care less. THEIR CO2 is for a worthy, even blessed cause – they’re SAAAAAVING THE EARTH!!!

A quote from Orwell – “Well, you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs…” to which Orwell growled “Where’s the omelet?”

    1. Even though I rarely eat that sort of thing, I can safely scratch Doritos off my list.

Whatever happened to keeping ads neutral so that the product or service in question appeals to everyone, regardless of their backgrounds, beliefs, or inclinations?

  12. If the Canadian Penal Colony Nazi’s try this here. What will be your response?
