  1. Robert – That was a great song. Even my physics-genius roommate in university liked it. How can they afford such a large ensemble?

What if you went to see Muddy Waters at a small club and a Rolling Stones concert broke out?
See for yourself in this high quality video: Muddy Waters & The Rolling Stones – Baby Please Don’t Go – Live At Checkerboard Lounge – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3Or7huOK7o

15M views and it doesn’t mention Let’s Go Brandon once.

      1. Steakman – I know right? What a treat for the audience if they paid a $10 cover charge. I think it was staged as the camera quality was pretty high for impromptu but very cool to see Jagger and the boys out at a pub where they get called up on stage by a legend.

    1. Ward – Harley Munro has been posted on SDA before. An earlier posting hit a bit harder and he noted that he is indigenous right at the start but this is a good video. Thanks for sharing. He’s from Saskatoon I think.

  2. I’ve posted URLs to a number of European movies in the last while, so how about a John Wayne double feature?

The first one is Legend of the Lost with co-stars Sophia Loren and Rossano Brazzi (perhaps best known for his role in the movie adapatation of South Pacific):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-7K-WzwABU

This one’s produced by his own company and directed by Henry Hathaway, a director the Duke worked with several times more, including True Grit. Hathaway and JW re-visit the theme of treasure buried in a desert a few years later in the much better The Train Robbers.

The second one is The Undefeated, with Rock Hudson, as well as several character actors one might recognize from a number of other John Wayne movies:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWZV5x4WAXs

It’s directed by Andrew McLaglen, who directed him in several other films, such as McLintock!. There’s another connection between Wayne and McLaglen as the latter is the son of Victor McLaglen, who worked with the Duke in a number of movies directed by John Ford.

    1. Correction about The Train Robbers. Burt Kennedy directed that one, not Henry Hathaway, and he also directed John Wayne in The War Wagon.

      1. You’re welcome. As I mentioned a few days ago, there are lots of movies, many of which are oldie mouldies, on YouTube, so who needs Netflix?

    1. She did a great job for not knowing the song but the busker was a very impressive musician. He was clever to have as his title, “she stole the show” and his video is now at 4.7M views. He’s a great self marketer and busker. They used to have a busker festival in Halifax. Lots of guys like this guy. Nothing quite like it out here in Alberta but we’ll all be busking if Mashed-Potato Brains remains PM. Thanks for sharing BAD.

    1. They also made movie soundtracks. If I’m not mistaken, they contributed to the score for Butch Cassiday and the Sundance Kid as well as the Burt Lancaster flick Castle Keep.

    2. I do. Nice choice WZ.

The Swingle Singers have a history involving musicians that have been on SDA in the past. Back in the early 50’s Blossom Dearie formed a group in Paris called the Blue Stars. It featured herself along with Bob Dorough and suprano Christiane Legrand. She is the sister of the great jazz pianist Michel Legrand.

When Ward Swingle showed up in Paris he formed a group with Christiane Legrand call Les Double Six – In North America they were mostly known as the Double Six of Paris. They morphed into the Swingle Singers.

So, there you have it. Some usless music trivia – ha. The Swingles and their style of layered voices had a big influence on Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.

      1. There you are Abt!
Here’s an oldie written by Rodgers and Hammerstein from the musical “Oklahoma” sung by Blossom Dearie:

        P.S.
So the World Series is on, did you hear the latest as it pertains to baseball?  The crackpots want to change the name of the “bullpen” to “arm barn” — now get a load of that!

  3. “SICK, EVIL PEOPLE: Buried in FDA Hearing the Editor-in-Chief of NEJM, Dr. Eric Rubin Says, “We’re Never Going to Learn About How Safe It Is Unless We Start Giving It” ”

“And Dr. Rubin is no ordinary doctor, Dr. Eric Rubin is the Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of Medicine.”

    1. Those dumb fucks need to be arrested. It is bad enough terminally stupid adults think that taking experimental drugs is ok but force feeding children should get you a trial and rope.

  4. Several black vehicles – Chevy suburban types and big cars – driving very close to each other on a bus-only road inspired me to say 3 words yesterday morning as I watched them pass me by.
As well, the last vehicle was an armoured truck and the line of vehicles was travelling south, I’d bet to the airport.
In Ottawa its not something surprising to see (except for the armoured truck – that was new) and I know a certain someone was flying to Europe to do some serious lisping.
Any guesses on the 3 words?

    1. Would I be right in assuming that two of those words aren’t “Happy birthday” or “Merry Christmas”?

    2. Harper opened the Stampede parade one year. After that he walked by, i stuck out my hand, got a shake and bro-in-law got a compliment on “good looking son” sitting on his shoulders.
Watched Harper get into a Dodge minivan and drive off with the detail. No armoured vehicles just two SUV’s.

      1. Nice story. Remember when we had a normal– even nice — country under Harper? I miss Harper. I felt he was looking after Canada’s best interests. With Trudeau, the globalist interests take precedence.

        1. Linda, Canada has not been normal for a long time. The people are a disappointment, having watched them slide downhill intellectually. A country is it’s people, other than that the geography is just dirt. I never thought that as an old man I would be witnessing the mass hysteria and insanity surrounding a flu virus. Just shows I wasn’t watching what the left hand was doing close enough.

  5. Dementia Joe appears to have abandoned his theatre act while in Europe. He wore no mask and shook hands with a long lineup of maskless officials at the Vatican.

    1. Did Biden meet the Pope? I imagine they could have a long conversation about worshiping satan. Turdeau, another fake Catholic, would also feel right at home.

  6. This will not be reported by the corporate media cartel, but the Industrial Goods Price Deflator grew by nearly 15% in September, over that recorded in Sep, 2020:

Buy silver and gold. Stock up in the basement with non-perishables. On that note, I have been bugging my wife to start buying boxes of garbage bags at Costco. This product has a high oil intensity, so the price of these will go up soon.

    1. For precious metals buy LEAD David in all the appropriate calibers. You can never have too much ammo.

      1. …I’d like to expectorate on those communist politicians, but I promised to never go back there.

  7. Looks like thousands going after Mayor of NYC DeBlasio. This is how to do it. Go after the Politicians and And the Health Bureaucrats in their Lairs.
The Trudeau’s The Kenney’s, the Moes.
Never give them another nights rest in their own beds. Find where they all live and go after them.

    1. That goes a long way to explain Prinz Dummkopf’s conduct as it fits the facts. He’s simply a whore who’ll bend forward if enough money’s dangled in front of his nose.

  8. Blacklock reports that Justine spent over fifty thousand dollars, to ask 32 people what they thought of Fraulein Freeland’s first budget. The common response among seniors was where is the money tree? And Adolf’s lapdog MPs are all gungho about his internet censorship laws.

    1. Yep they are all gung ho about censorship right up to the moment it burns them.
Then they look for a way to assign blame on everyone else.

  9. Biden Bribery: Give Illegals $450K Per Person

This is pure bribery. The Wall Street Journal broke the news that the Biden Administration is considering giving people here illegally $450,000 per PERSON.
Yes, you absolutely read that correctly.

    1. Only $450,000. Is that the price of a Lamborghini nowadays? It wouldn’t be proper if they came and couldn’t afford to own one, would it?

  10. Movie alert!

Tonight TCM will be showing George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (the granddaddy of zombie movies, “They’re coming to get you, Barbara!”), followed by the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Tomorrow night’s Noir Alley selections (it’s a double feature this time as they’re each less than an hour and a half long) are Cat People and The Leopard Man. I’m looking forward to these as I’ve never seen them before.

    1. B A, I think I mentioned this before, but the outdoor shots of the 1968 NOTLD were shot in farm country north of Pittsburgh, some 15 miles from where I grew up. My late father and I used to rabbit hunt in the area.

      1. I think you did mention it at one time. In addition, many in the cast were local people, which added to the authenticity.

  11. Can I ask a stupid, but serious question (totally off-topic)? Exactly how does a (what) 5’7″ guy weighing maybe 160 lbs “force” another guy 6’1″ weighing maybe 200 lbs to allow him to give him a blow job?
    Just wondering.

    1. the students will use as an acronym

Something I’m sure they would like to study….
