Vitamin D-day

Thought this was pretty interesting, taking vitamin D supplements can reduce mortality from all causes.

Meanwhile another study from Israel shows that 1 in 4 COVID patients hospitalized while vitamin D deficient die.

“This study is important because of the results, because of the fact that it uses data from before admission, and also because we were careful to isolate all factors like age and diabetes,” Dror said. “We saw that vitamin D deficiency is an independent factor that significantly influences the status of the patient.”

Dror added that the fact that such a large proportion of patients were vitamin D-deficient in Israel, despite the abundance of sunshine, highlights the value of people around the world monitoring and potentially boosting their levels.

  1. lol I’ve been taking vitamin d3 and zinc since this plandemic hit…… spike protiens got no power over me! ban the nazi passports!!!!!

  2. Fake news obviously. Our own Health Minister Patty Hadju said that Vitamin D deficiency as a cause of more severe COVID 19 cases was disinformation, and that we need to trust the experts. Just like Saskatchewan Dr. Kevin Wasko who said Tweeted yesterday that a “Healthy lifestyle will prevent / mitigate COVID are just ill-informed”. It seems the experts have gone all in on the vaccines as the only preventative measure, which is a damn shame.

    1. Hubby golfs with a number of doctors. With the advent of a possible us vs. them theme around vaccination my hubby headed off any awkwardness the doctors may share by telling them his other half was taking a pass on the vax . They were polite and reigned in the wisecracks as much as possible. Today they were unable to restrain themselves and went all in calling the unvaxxed “red necks” and “PPC voters”. Lots of guffaws ho ho ho.

No skin off my nose, but by the good God in heaven what will those idiots say when it comes to pass that the “red necks and PPC voters” were right and they were all wrong.

Bad poker play if you ask me.

  3. Every day it’s C, D3, Zinc, and Quercedin plus a couple multivitamins plus I have Ivermectin if the shit hits the fan. Before the medical system gets ahold of me, I will have at least a couple doses of Ivermectin in my system and hopefully as many as five.

    1. There is a LOT of bad info on that site. Vit. D 3 therapy: read “The Optimal Dose” (30,000 IUs / day for addressing major conditons). I take 10,000 with K2 and magnesium. I have essentially gotten rid of my autoimmune condition. // The site doesn’t distinguish between Vit K1 and K2, which you must. And says you should take more than 2000 mg of Vit. C a day. That’s BS. Taking it in liposomal form avoids gastro reactions. IV Vit. C (very high dose) is also an effective Covid treatment. And works for a number of other serious maladies.

  4. This isn’t new, it’s been known since April of 2020.

Someone’s trying to take credit for other people’s work

    1. My amazing and wonderful magician of a chiropractor advised me of this vitamin D issue in 2009.

      1. My conventional GP has pushed me onto D a decade ago. ALL aging Americans are low in D. It is probably the most crucial diet supplement I take since my wide ranging diet includes lots of healthy meats and vegetables that covers most everything else except C

  5. Look at all the warped fads that occurred simply due to lots of people being fat.
Now multiply that by a million.

  6. Oh man I just witnessed a homicide.

    “9-11 what is your emergency?”
“OMG!!! Someone just murdered AG Garland and I’m pretty sure it was MO rep Josh Hawley!!!”

Ooooofff! That was bad. Garland made Mueller look like president of the Toastmasters.
    But remember…Merrick is a “moderate”.

  7. Make sure you get extra dose of Vitamin D every time you smear that SPF 1000 sunscreen on to keep from being accidentally touched by the sun’s deadly, deadly rays.

  8. Being a transplant recipient I have to take 1000 iu a day. I wonder if that’s enough, considering current events.

    1. Hey Warren,

I had cryo ablasion for my heart, although I have been taking 10,000 IU of D3 liquigels daily for the last 20 years. I do notice a difference if I miss a day or two. More is better. Goodluck with the new heart!

      Cheers,

      Peter

      1. Not really. The recommended amount is 400 to 800 iu per day.
Also keep in mind that if one were to take too much vit D they risk hurting their liver.

  9. just an FYI, I work in the dairy industry and we were told that Florescent lights will bleach vitamin d from milk. it was stressed to us that milk in cardboard containers were not affected. Just wondering if lights in offices are also bleaching the inside workers.

  10. My wife used to have absolutely horrible asthma trouble every winter. A friend who is also a physician told her about vitamin D effects on asthma. He recommended 3000 IU a day for her after a blood test. She has not had an asthma attack in winter since. Anecdotal yes. Med literature evidence, yes. Large scale double blind studies? no.

  11. I take 5000 UI a day based on the weight calculation but double when I know I have been exposed to someone with the sniffles. Also Vit C, Zinc at 30mg with Copper (doubled on occasion) Melatonin at night, magnesium, Biotin, Quercedin, Iodine and whatever else I have read to be beneficial while also following a low carb and almost no sugar lifestyle. So far haven’t had a damn cold since the blasted evil epidemic cold season that hit in late 2019 that had everyone in our county sick as dogs and lots of pneumonia that we all survived.

  12. l knew this.
last winter on top of taking 500m vit C every day for decades, l started vit D beginning of last winter to supplement
the natural drop in body production brought on by less sunlite.

yo, world, prepare for regular pastings from me of the leftoids for the next 20-30 years ie until l reach that magic ‘3 digit’ landmark.

  13. Here is an observational study on patient outcomes from Covid, published April 26 2020.

Look at the death statistics (sorry: morbidity, must use the euphemistic wording).

    https://emerginnova.com/patterns-of-covid19-mortality-and-vitamin-d-an-indonesian-study/

98.9% of Vitamin D deficient cases died.
87.8% of Vitamin D insufficient cases died.
Only 4.1% of cases with sufficient Vitamin D levels died.

And note that Vitamin D is soluble in fat, so that obesity == low VItamin D.
