The government jet probably burns fairy dust.  He lied of course on his website. He was supposed to be having private meetings today. I bet the Indians are impressed.

        1. So if they left you why did you vote for them? The Conservative Party of Canada did not change their policies overnight. After Harper was defeated, which by the way was the outcome desired by the Eastern backroom boys, the policies of the party were changed. The backroom boys did not want the policies that Harper was pursuing and constructed an election campaign that was designed to fail. When party policies are designed to run counter to what your personal policies and beliefs are then you either jump ship or hit the iceberg and sink.

    1. Thomas, you make a good point. To REconcile, implies there was some level of conciliation or agreement beforehand. If the proponents of this sham were to be honest – I know, fat chance – it would simply be called Conciliation Day. I have purposely avoided wearing orange today.

  20. Don’t be blaming the PPC for Justin’s government, the PPC is the only voice in the wilderness at this point standing up for a return to normal living. If O’Toole had a shred of decency he would have called Max two weeks before the election and asked which five ridings he would like to bring into parliament so we could have a voice there. Then he could have asked his own party supporters to vote PPC in those five ridings. We might now have an actual chance to influence public policy in Canada, which is hard to do from a twitter echo chamber.

    Hint: its not surfing season, and theres a reason he never takes his family. We always assumed it was a GF. Im not sure it makes any material difference that its a BF, but its a better story.

    1. James, That was my thought as well. I thought Soapy was on the outside, and only used as a pretend, for the public. He does seem to like visiting Tofino at the wrong time of year for surfing, so maybe he does have a gf or bf over there, but his pretend media would never let on anyway.

    1. Well I’ll be. My “settler” grandmother saw two sisters die as children while they established their little farm on the Alberta prairie. Two out of nine, so that’s a survival rate of only 78%. Guess that’s the kind of thing that happens when you have to grow your own food and build your own shelter and there are no doctors around, unlike at the residential schools.

  32. Let’s get back to this Truth and Reconciliation Day. What is the truth of the matter? The truth is that an advanced society overwhelmed an inferior society beginning approximately 500 years ago. That cannot be undone no matter how they try to spin it. The advanced society has tried to assimilate the inferior society over the past 500 years. Has it worked? Is the inferior society better off now than before the advanced society overwhelmed them? How about we take this to another level. Should the Romans (Italians) be asked to celebrate a Truth and Reconciliation Day for all of the lands and peoples they conquered? How about the Normans? Maybe we should go back in recent history and have a Truth and Reconciliation Day for overwhelming the Germans, Japanese, and Italians. How would that work? As I’ve said here before our compassion will eventually be our undoing. As my old Pappy used to say “Gie yer he’d a shake!” or in plain English “Think and give your brain a chance.”

    1. The narrative around “Truth and Reconciliation Day” is such that there will be very little truth and no possibility of reconciliation.

No sign of all those federal bureaucrats staying home since they haven’t been to wor for a year and a half now; also, the pace of work didn’t change in the fed government, still like syrup. What did change was the LCBO, Provincial, staye shut until noon. Probably in recognition of the role of alcohol in the native community.
