Will it be Eastern Canada and the Maritimes who screw us over, or will they throw the baton to BC?
We’ll know our fate soon enough. Have at it.

There’s one bright spot in an otherwise uneventful evening — Maryam “our brothers the Taliban” Monsef turfed.

Ya can’t fix stupid ………..I hope the assholes who voted for this enjoy the crap coming their way . I’m done ….
Wait till Wednesday when the mail in ballot count comes in and 13-14 seats auto magically end up being called for the Liberals.
Instant majority.
They just need to see what ridings are close and print enough ballots.
They just need to see what ridings are close and print enough ballots
There are a lot of questions to be asked about these “mail-in” ballots, but of course they will never be asked by the corporacratic/state media. How were these ballots requested? What is the authentication process to determine a request came from a registered voter? What is the authentication process to determine a registered voter completed the ballot? Who has custody of the ballots before counting? What is the process to ensure mail-in voters don’t also vote in-person? What about mail-in ballots that were posted after voting closed in-person? How can anyone be certain a party organizer didn’t acquire hundreds of ballots in a competitive riding and post-date the envelopes with a post office meter? Who is accountable for the integrity of the process?
One small thing I noticed while watching some vote updates late last night was the national popular vote for the Liberals had been at 31.9% for a long time, but overnight rose to 32.1%. In the old days, the metro/urban (Liberal) vote would get counted quickly, and the rural (Conservative) vote would always take longer. So, the Liberal vote surge would happen shortly after polls close, and would gradually fall as the counting progresses everywhere. The late-night Liberal rise was odd. Not that it has changed anything substantially at this point. I think they increased their seat count by two and the Conservatives lost two.
Any oldtimers here remember Vitruvius’s Experimental Election Predictor?
V = (C-L)(C+L)/100
Plug in the 34 and 32.2 and you get a V of 1.19, which (by regression of results from 1958-2021) predicts that the Conservatives will be 35 short of a majority (result, 50) and 9 short of the Libranos (result, 39). That’s not too far off the regression line and an almost identical result to the 2019 election. Many of the same problems for the Conservative vote (a bunch of overwhelming wins in safe ridings, too many close losses).
Thanks, Jim; great observation. As I noted at least a page back in the comments, the seat predictor at 338Canada is complete bollocks. It pretty much reverses the CON and LIB seat count. To be such a screw-up, it must have been developed on a government grant.
