      1. Well, it’s Ontario so what did you expect from the Center of the Nanny State? Let’s hope that Gretchen of Michigan follows through and cuts off Line 5 this winter.

  1. Morality Over Facts

Why the RIGHT always loses to the LEFT
    – The Z Man

The reason the right always loses to the left is that the right is trying to defeat moral claims with facts. This can never happen. Often, the appeal of the moral claim is that it seems to fly in the face of reality. Faith requires sacrifice, and there can be no greater spiritual sacrifice than to hold on to a belief in the face of reality. In this regard, the right’s arguments serve only to strengthen the moral certainty of the left.

  2. And Then Everything Happens at Once
    – Jim Kunstler, Clusterfuck Nation

    First paragraph:

This is a very nervous country, and for a good reason: the collective sense of reality has commenced a momentous shift, the compass is spinning wildly, things are shaking loose in the national brain-pan, the gaslight has lost its sheen, and the once-solid narrative is turning to vapor, starting with the unspooling riddles of Covid-19.

        1. 1. A seat on the CBC board of directors
          2. Appointment to head the Bank of Canada
          3. A Senate appointment

    1. There’s gotta be an ambassadorship in there somewhere for her. “Hewwo, Mawyam? How about being ambaththadow to Afghanithtan? I mean, don’t you have famiwy ovew thewe?”

        1. Ah, but how is Prinz Dummkopf going to import all those future Liberal voters hanging around Kabul?

Then again, maybe he can’t tell the difference.

  4. Thanks Max for giving it the old college try, we ran into a wall of delusional thinking (again) but managed to triple the party’s support despite almost universal lack of coverage in the mainstream media, other than the occasional slur. It’s a noteworthy accomplishment but I suspect no living human being could overcome the massive level of delusion that now exists in our country, and the chickens will come home to roost soon enough, once they have finished gutting the treasury entirely.

I think O’Toole realizes this but figures the way to get into power is to pretend to be a nicer kinder form of socialist. It didn’t work any better for him than for the last half dozen Tories who tried that approach.

  5. Pop quiz….

Two minor parties in this election were the Maverick Party and the Quebec-based Parti Libre Canada (Free Party Canada).

One of these parties received 44,972 votes (0.3%) and the other got 32,665 votes (0.2%).
Who “won”? (as of 2:30 AM EDT Tuesday)

    Hint: NOT the Mavericks.

    P.S.
    Peoples Party of Canada… 786,534 (5.1%)
    Greens… 352,488

    1. Interesting. I’d never heard of the Free Party of Canada before last night. They seem to be a francophone libertarian party mainly running in Quebec, but also in French-speaking parts of New Brunswick and Ontario. Here is their website:

      https://partilibrecanada.org/

The FPC candidate in Max’s riding won more than a thousand votes. Not that it made a difference to the final outcome, but it’s surprising that a party running on basically the same platform as the PPC could win so many votes running directly against Max.

The FPC averaged about 2% of the vote in the ridings they ran in, roughly the same as the PPC average for Quebec (excluding the Beauce). I knew Max was relatively unpopular in Quebec compared to the rest of the country, but the fact that a PPC-clone party popped up to challenge him in his home province instead of getting behind him makes me think that he better find a riding in English Canada to run in next time.

That’s how divided the Right is in this country; not only have the actual conservatives of the PPC split from the fake cons of the CPC, but significant numbers of Quebec libertarians (the FPC) and Western autonomists (the Maverick Party) now have their own political parties too.

  6. In Trudeauland you can’t squeeze anymore money from the Canadian citizens as decades of housing speculators have inflated housing prices which keeping wages crushed far below ownership dreams.

    https://www.howestreet.com/2021/09/lethal-levels-of-financial-leverage-are-highly-contagious/

The Bank of Canada slapped Trudeau’s fingers and told him no more borrowing.
So, big dreams and big debt…where to get the money…
I know, let’s get the homeowners to pay by taxing their capital gain now that used to be protected and used for upgrading to a bigger house.
With this inflated housing prices, huge taxes are coming when you sell your house.

    1. I have 2 sets of friends in Toronto who have treated their homes as ATM’s. With the rise in valuation, they extend their lines of credit. One set takes 4 vacations/year and buys new cars every 2 years. The other set has a massive sailboat with the attendant costs of belonging to a yacht club, insurance fees, and dry dock storage for the winter/spring months.

On the other hand, I know of 2 former friends who NEVER invested in real estate although they made more money per year than I. As well, they NEVER made RRSP or TFSA contributions and now are 71 and MUST continue to work as they cannot survive on just CPP and OAS payments. I do not feel sad for them as they ate in nice restaurants, took great vacations and wore beautiful clothes.

We all make choices and must live with the consequences. I tell all people in their 30’s and 40’s that while enjoying life, they must also plan to own the roof over their head, have other investments other than CPP/OAS and have a little side gig when they retire. They must NOT rely on the government.

      1. And ALL of these people will be running to Gubment for a handout when their credit runs out and their financial house-of-cards comes crashing down. No sympathy.

  7. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/election-results-in-ottawa-a-live-and-interactive-riding-by-riding-map/ar-AAOEnUB?ocid=uxbndlbing

Ottawa stayed true to form and elected Liberals (except Polliviere). My riding replaced the Big C McKenna with Yasir Naqvi, an ex-MPP who was in the McGuilty Ontario caucus for 11 years in the same riding. A return to the trough on the federal level, he checks off a lot of diversity boxes for Shithead. Well one, but its big, he’s a Moslem. He’s also a lawyer and was Attorney General so the Librano corruption is in his DNA.

Gee if the Big C ever returns to politics she could run in the riding provincially and win without campaigning I’d bet.

The election results have proven to me that Canadians aren’t stupid, they’re malicious and malignant.

    1. Ahhh, just love that free stuff…
At some point reality is a bitch that you have no choices left.
I don’t see if getting much further as materials needed in Canada, are not made in Canada.
Another supply chain issue when promising massive new housing and an electric car in every driveway.
We don’t even have the future electric grid planned out, so, big failures as even more infrastructure deteriorates.

  8. Here’s an example of stupid: Trudeau called an election because he couldn’t govern in minority, he gets another minority and says he has a clear mandate to continue.
Any of his media ask him what the election changed, what he can do now he couldn’t do before? Will he stick with his threat to call an election in 18 months if he didn’t get a majority?
Naw, forget it, the love continues.

    1. You get to see the media drug pushers go after those dirty unvaccinated for all these new infections as ‘Boosters’ will save everyone.
They want everyone in the Healthcare to mandatory as they also push ‘First Nations’ to have these life altering, ops, saving poison in a pen jab…

  9. As I told my sister last night: this election proves that Trudeau is right and we are a racist country. We elected a Prime Minister who wears blackface.

  10. Yesterday, after I got to the elementary school where I voted, I saw further evidence that the public education system is interested in nothing but indoctrination.

After going through the main entrance, I saw a large “we are on stolen Indian land” plaque. Yup, that’s a good way to give the kiddies a good education, isn’t it?

    1. I drove past a different school this morning and it appears that it’ll be closed on National Indian Day.

      1. Is that “National Indigenous Peoples Day” (June 21)?
Or “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation” (Sept. 30)?
Or “International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples” (August 9)?
Or “Treaty Day” (October 1, Nova Scotia)?
Or “National Indigenous Languages Day” (March 31)?
Or “Treaties Recognition Week in Ontario” (November 4-8)?
Or “Louis Riel Day” (November 16, Manitoba)?
        Or “Inuit Day” (November 7)?
Or “Commemorating Indigenous Veterans Day” (November 8)?
Or “National Indigenous History Month” (June)?

  11. Mick Jagger and Paul Simon both gave interesting takes on how they cram lyrics into tunes, especially when they have deadlines. It doesn’t need to make sense…if it rhymes, put it in and let others provide the interpretation. You can slot Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” into that category as well. Not that I’m saying Don Maclean did that for American Pie which still remains one of my favourites.
Which of course brings me to the “Tragically Hip”. Some songs, I think I get what Downie is saying for others it’s like “What in the hell are you even talking about??!!!??”
A friend of mine said “He’s a poet…you’re not supposed to know”.
    Me: “Oh”

Tomorrow’s SDA – Who or what exactly is the “Pompatus of love”.

    1. A little background to the video that may give some insight to its production, and reveal a deeper meaning:

      >>>>>
What an incredible piece of work. Follow the lyrics closely together with the photos. They synchronize beautifully to explain each verse. Although Don McClean only released the song in 1971, for those of us who grew up in the 40s, ’50s and ’60s this is a great piece with some very poignant moments in the history of those times.

And for those of you who did not, it’s a taste of what you missed. I knew that “American Pie” was the name of the plane in which Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper were killed when it crashed in 1958 – and I knew the chorus about music dying on that day.

However, when the words are put together with pictures and film clips the song takes on more meaning. It took a lot of fore-thought to produce this and it brings back lots of memories and also makes the lyrics really come alive.

Those were the days and we were very fortunate to grow up during that period of time.

  12. Russian City Removes Plaques Memorializing Polish POWs Massacred By Stalin

Russian activists on Thursday removed two plaques memorializing the Stalinist executions of thousands of Polish prisoners of war 80 years ago, following orders from local authorities who claimed there is no evidence of the crimes.

Prosecutors in the city of Tver, in an October 2019 order to remove the plaques from the former Soviet secret police building, said their inscriptions were “not based on documented facts.” The Soviet Union in 1990 took responsibility for the 1940 murders of nearly 22,000 Polish officers — including 6,000 in the NKVD secret police building’s basement in Tver northwest of Moscow — in what became known as the Katyn massacre.

  13. Just in from UNIFOR news.
Fat Jenny to shuffle cabinet and announce more lockdowns.

Premier Jason Kenney is shuffling his cabinet today.
An advisory says changes to the cabinet will be unveiled at a ceremony at 3:30.
The premier will then join Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw for a COVID-19 update at 5 p.m.

      1. Booting Shandro out of the Health position was a step in the right direction, but it wasn’t enough. It’s not, however, going to save Kenney’s worthless hide in the next provincial election.

  14. The Election is over.

Noses to the grindstone, shoulders to the wheel.

Covid to be cured, debt to be paid.

And then we will change the climate.

Floggings will continue until morale improves.

  15. Faster Harder.Start your recording, cause the systemic collapse o this kleptocracy, should be documented for your children’s children’s children.
    Western Separation will accelerate.
However I am amused by the assumption made by so many , who dismiss Western Alienation..
“An Independent West would keep all the current institutions of Can Ahh Duh.”.
Over and over I see this idiocy repeated..
    “Thus independence will never happen.”
    .
That part is correct,if we were to separate, yet keep the massive parasitic overload that destroyed Canada…Of course no one supports that.

The only lesson of Confederated Canada and being the Milch Cow of it,is big government and its delusions of “Better governance” destroys everything we value.
A welfare state is a crippling parasitic load on those who work.
Welfare run from afar removes all accountability and provides negative incentives which destroy communities.
State Healthcare provides neither health nor care.

    Enough already.
I have no representation in Canadian Government, why should I lift one finger to support any of it.?
We just saw how our fellow citizens value freedoms and productive persons.
    Every man for himself .
    Get a parasite position?
Too late government is broke and failing.
Get up and go,as most former Canadians have?
    Where to?
    Hunker down and blend in?
Inflation and stupidity will expose you..
    Decisions decisions..
Every further power grab and restriction imposed upon us reduces our choices..
When the decision tree equals one.
You will know your time has come.

  16. I think Kenney is DONE.
7000 Calgarians protest passport. Country Star Running for UCP President says Kenney is Done and has to go.
Shandro Fired for doing what SHITCON Kenney wanted passports and mandatory jabs. Kenney is now taking his orders from Turkey Neck Notley it seems.
Ha Ha Kenney says Leadership Review Irresponsible. Fuck You SHITCON.
30 Plus CA Presidents Push For Leadership Review.
These are all Headlines in Alberta TODAY.
    SHITCON GONE
    https://westernstandardonline.com/.

    1. Yes. Bad move by Kenney — passports and mandatory vax, I wonder why he did it? Same with Ford. I don’t think these guys agree with the passports in principal. Someone is pushing them in this direction. ( Threats? Bribes? ) Any guesses?

      1. Collapsed hospitals? Military tent COVID wards? Dozens of deaths every day?
(or more importantly… extensive media coverage of the above possible events. Kenney is scared and isolated.)

    2. My nose runs for you, Kenney. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
