  1. Sorry for the OT question: It should 830 in the Maritimes polls should be closed, where can I go to start seeing the results. It is 730 PM in Ottaw so 830PM Halix & 9PM Newfie time

  2. Tough to say if they’re protesting the change of their name from “Eskimos” to “Elks” … or perhaps being football fans, they simply believe in what they know is best for themselves.

    I hope it’s both.

Watched this clip yesterday of 109,959 screaming fans without too many cares in the world. This is the life that Canadians have given up for the comfort of Liberals.

  3. Drove down a Kelowna street this past Saturday. All restaurants were at 20% capacity – barely any customers. These were all restaurants which we went to during the lockdowns when no one would go out for dinner. Now we are excluded due to our status.

We have never seen a Saturday like that before.

    1. Bander….hit up Renegade in Kelowna. No passes needed/wanted. Had a spectacular butter chikn (it’s vegetarian) last Thursday, portions are huge and service is amazing. Also great beer selection!

      1. Found a spot in Winnipeg, Monstrosity Burger, more than just burgers, a full menu, all made in store. Beer selection is weak, but..
They have a sign on the door that they are not enforcing passports or masks.

    2. Funny, where these mandates went into effect a lot of people I
l bet suddenly decided to skip going out for drinks and food, and electednto stay home with family, take up a hobby, read their bibles, and get to work paying off debt. Reducing debt works well in two ways:

      1. you literally screw up the bank’s balance sheets – you are reducing the size of assets on the books, as well as their net interest income, forcing them to try lend more. But with restaurants and bars and theatres collapsing, and people cutting spending, it’s a wondrous vicious cycle aimed smack in the face of those who most supported these mandates, and
      2. You free up room for credit when all this shit is over, and you can buy up the bankrupt bars at pennies on the dollar and kick ass!

  4. Usually take in 2 or 3 Eskimo games a year and any playoff games that are held at Commonwealth. It’s mostly a buddy thing, I’m not really that into CFL. But I guess I won’t be going to any games now.

  5. I know nothing about football but I have a question for fans and knowledgeable people that I have always wondered about.

Has Turdeau ever been to a Grey Cup ?\

We know he prances at every gay parade from Victoria to Shawinigan and he has humiliated himself at the Stampede once or twice if memory serves but I don’t recall seeing him besmirching the Grey Cup with his presence.

    1. Considering Prinz Dummkopf’s inclinations, “Rough” should be replaced by “Rump”.

  6. Who coulda predicted that-next up-where’s our subsidy. Only in canaduh you say.

  7. L – The gov’t. Lockdowns have destroyed the viability of the restaurant industry. Now they’re doing the same to the sports and live entertainment industries; ones that motivate people to go out and have a good time with other people. How long before people figure out the reality, it’s the government Lockdowns that are making people sick by weakening their immune systems… from resisting the infection of bad government.

  8. I kid you not, my first thought was, “who the eff cares about a fraternal society at a football game?” I just can’t get used to it.

  9. COVID may have a part in the bad attendance, but not winning games at home is not helping. 4 game now at Commonwealth, 4 losses. The team sucks this year. The starting QB is out for 4 to 6 weeks prior to this game. We had a rookie QB playing his first game, facing a strong Bomber team. Who wants to pay money to watch the team lose, when you can do the same thing for free at home on TSN and switch to something entertaining when you know the game is over. As for the CAF members and the 450 free tickets for them. The day before the game, unless you were part of the big f-ing flag party on the field (about 50 members total for the BFF), members were told not to go to the game.
