I believe we are down to 2 primary steel furnaces in canada, which means that the second order effects is that raw iron ore will have to be shipped longer distances, before it can be processed…
Mini-mills which processed scrap steel became popular in the American rust belt about 40 years ago when many manufacturers went out of business.
Why not? Steel is one material that can be endlessly recycled and re-used. Reprocessing it is a lot cheaper as the raw materials for it had been excavated.

Weird. Australia is a major producer and exporter of coal while countries like Japan and China are its biggest customers.
Significantly cutting production means prices will rise dramatically which I’m pretty sure neither country wants to see.
Cheap steel is still China’s golden goose and steel mills use mindblowing amounts of electricity and that ain’t going to come from biomass.

That, is precisely what they are doing. Same as in the oil sands, they want to keep it as a reserve after they’ve completed their great reset, reduced world population dramatically, and gained total control of the planet. You don’t think they plan to change their lifestyle do you? It is only us peasants that need to be “rearranged” to suit them. Until enough regular folk wake up and see the reset for what it truly is, our journey back to a feudal society will continue at an accelerating pace.

I am guessing that China must know that there are millions of tons of coal under the water between Cape Breton and Newfoundland that has been cut off because it was considered too dirty. They also know that estimates put potential coal supplies at about 600 years worth in North America. Come on down boys it’s yours for the taking as we sure as hell can’t stop you.
