Winnipeg to Wuhan

Samples From Early Wuhan COVID Patients Had Genetically Modified Henipah, One of Two Types of Viruses Sent From Canadian Lab

The evidence was first found by Dr. Steven Quay, a Seattle-based physician-scientist and former faculty member at the Stanford University School of Medicine, who looked at early COVID-19 samples uploaded by scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) shortly after China informed the World Health Organization about the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak.

I’m not particularly familiar with the Epoch Times. What level of credibility do people give it?

  1. Epoch Times is a paper run by Chinese ex-pats who hate the CCP with a passion. They were the ones who coined the term “CCP virus”. I used to read it on the subway in Toronto, as it was available for free at the time.

Well written pieces, often in greater depth than I’d find in the regular press. Can’t attest for the accuracy of what they say, though. The bias against the CCP practically radiates off the pages. I can’t stand the CCP either – why do we do business with them? – but anything that prejudiced sets my Spidey sense tingling.

    1. I agree with what you say about prejudice, although in the case of commies I consider it postjudiced.

    2. The paper was reportedly founded by Falun Gong members so no surprise they hate the CCP. The paper states there is no other relationship between the parties.

    3. I have a friend who’s wife’s is from Taiwan. Her grandparents were murdered by the communists. Her grandfather for the crime of being the mayor of his village. The rest of the family because…. that’s what Communist China does.

  2. The Epoch Times is pretty reliable. It used to be a freebie distributed by the Falung Gong but, during the past few years has expanded immensely in both content, circulation and quality. I subscribe.

Like all news sources, take them critically; I find other viewpoints than the MSM are expressed which is refreshing.

    1. They also have a lot of content on youtube. I think NTD is their news channel. If I am not mistaken they broadcast an evening news program every day at 6:30pm.

A few months ago, Epoch Times distributed a copy of their daily for free to every Canadian household. The result was an explosion in subscriptions.

    2. I tried but I don’t like people knowing who I am. Had hard copy delivered but said no.

      1. You can get an online freebie, like I do. Just don’t have access to “premium” articles. Canada Post will sometimes “censor” (rat you out) if the print version shows up in your “box”, if they don’t censor your paid subscription and it’s not delivered. I have other sources for the premium stuff, like check back days later and read it online.
They are top notch AFAIC, more news than propaganda than even our “media”.

  3. In response to your question about credibility, a whole lot more than CBC, the Red Star, and the Grope and Flail put together.

      1. FWIW, Conrad Black writes for them. I like Conrad, especially lately. I think that anyone who likes American Greatness will like the Epoch Times.

  4. Full credibility I am a subscriber and read it weekly and it solidly factual contact highly recommended to any SDAer

  5. Any place that restricts the reader with all the log in crap is difficult to judge fairly. Might be run by Ben Shapiro or Breitbart.

  6. I believe the ET offers what the West really needs right now: unapologetic news and opinion in favour of Judeo-Christian, i.e., Western values. Highlighting the many failures of socialism is a bonus. As mentioned, it’s run by ex-pats. And those ex-pats have contacts on the inside that IMO allows the ET to get the scoop on stories before the MSM. (if the MSM cared to carry the story at all. Sorry CBC) As Conrad Black suggested a while back, people will pay for good journalism.

Late last year or earlier this year two Posties were sanctioned, not fired, for not delivering the ET because they disagreed with its content. That should in itself tell you the nature of the paper.

  7. Epoch Times subscriber.
    Pretty reliable.

Bonus, they send you a paper version that you can leave in the lunch room at work.

CBC hates them, and some Canada Post employees refused to deliver it.
You can’t get a much higher recommendation than that!

Search ‘Epoch Times’ at the CBC site:
    https://www.cbc.ca/search?q=Epoch%20Times&section=all&sortOrder=relevance&media=all

Examples: “Retired journalism professor Paul Knox says New Brunswickers should be wary of the Epoch Times.”

“The Epoch Times, a free newspaper typically found in street boxes in Canadian cities, is coming under fire for advancing a conspiracy theory about the origin of the coronavirus.”

  8. The fact that everyone on the brainwashed left has a foaming at the mouth reaction to things like the Epoch Times and Prager U, gives them instant credibility in my book.

  9. Read it Daily.
A good companion to Rebel..and here as well. Also get Fox … all pf whom come to me digitally.

And speaking of the Rebel, it appears Ezra and Company are taking the Provinces and possibly the Feds on over VaxPorts and mandatory jabs. In ea Province I do believe. Not being one with boatloads of cash, I donated what I could….Would urge others to do this,as well…??

    1. Please, donate to Rebel News law fund folks! The sh!t already hit the fan in my sons job with mandatory vaccination, and the eerie lull on corporate emails from my employer denounces the same. I am ready to go to courts, but not everyone will have the resources. And mine are limited and life-altering. Go to Rebel, sign the petition and make a small donation. Please. This is war.

  10. A colleague of mine was working in the lab and had lots of first hand knowledge. Epoch times is THE ONLY media who decided to investigate this and talk to him. Based on what he says, the Epoch Times is 100% spot on and totally reliable. if we had a press corp instead of a bunch of paid off Trudope butt kisser propaganda generaters this stuff would be front page news across the world.

  11. Epoch Times is the only newspaper I read – I ended up subscribing to it. Good content.

  12. … the lab only sent the samples to WIV after receiving assurance that no GoF research would take place.

    Canadians are just so naive.

Winnipeg Lab: Here’s that deadly virus you wanted; now, you won’t do anything bad with it will you?
Wuhan Lab: Oh no, sir. We’ll be very good.

  13. Epoch Times is reviled by every staunch leftist I know.

Ergo, I trust that they are mostly telling the truth and oriented towards goodness and decency.

  14. Epoch Times is one of the best reporters on China issues. They may be a wacky cult but they have the CCP’s number.

  15. I get the printed version of the Epoch Times and look forward to their opinion on world events. I would believe their reports any day compared to CBC,CTV or Global or any of the US alphabet networks except Fox or Newsmax. Its not all politics they have other sections like Life and Leisure, Mind and Body etc that can be interesting.

  16. Epoch Times is a bit too close to Falun Gong. But still an order of magnitude better than state media, CNN, etc.

That left wingers despise it really tells you all you need to know.

    1. Yeah, never sure of the Falun Gong connection, but as I point out to the left: Christian Science is pretty loopy too, but the Christian Science Monitor used to be mentioned reverently in the same breath with the “Manchester Gruniad” and NYT by the left, so…who cares.

Said the same when United Press International was owned by the Moonies.

When you compare Falun Gong, the Moonies and the current left…I know who I trust more.

  17. Epoch time subscriber. I think they are totally legit. Thoroughly enjoy flipping the pages and read it front to back. The crossword puzzles, suduko, and other fun stuff is a welcome distraction.
On another positive note, Action4Canada has files suit with the B.C. Supreme Court to hold multiple parties to account for their handling of Covid-19. The defendants include: the Government of Canada, the Government of British Columbia, various public health officers, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and others.

  18. The ET is a china basher. I’m ok with that as I am too. I try and keep that in mind when I’m reading it.

One of the reasons we are in an unnecessary election is the libranos are afraid of any information getting out regarding Canada’s complicity in the Winnipeg lab and the 2 CCP scientists.

The election was called in the hope a majority government could be gained and all the investigations into the Bongs malfeasance and librano criminality could be quashed.

    1. You are right on with this Abtrapper! I thought of this when the election was called for “no reason”.

  19. “I’m not particularly familiar with the Epoch Times. What level of credibility do people give it?”

Its the ONLY news outlet I trust.

  20. Agree with all here re: Epoch Times…dependable.
They are not in on the cash from the Trudeau/Butts clan, so you know CBC will trash them.
Very distinct separation of ‘news’ page and Opinion/editorial.

  21. Subscriber as well. Good content and worth paying for voluntarily.

** As opposed to my involuntary payments to the rest of the Canadian media through my taxes and Justin’s handouts/bribes.

  22. Highly recommend using the ET app, available for Apple and Android as opposed to the website but both are first class. Definitely an anti CCP slant (no pun intended) by why would anyone in the west give a rat’s ass about that….with the exception of Turdo Liberals.

  23. I subscribe to the Epoch Times. I like their original investigative reporting. They are right about the CCP, and it looms large in the publication, but I don’t pay that much attention to those anti- CCP pieces. Their reporting and analysis on other issues is very good. Good opinion columnists ( e.g. Conrad Black, John Robson) I even like their focus on healthy lifestyles and classic works of literature and art. When was the last time you read a poem by Wordsworth?

  24. I subscribe too. If anything, they seem to downplay the headlines on stories of egregious wrongdoing.
