      Was talking at work — over Zoom, of course — about the Australian dog shootings. More than half the people on the call agreed with the shootings.

      It is surprising how quickly a population can turn against a free society.
      It enlightens as to how different countries in history became the awful places that they became. We are witnessing it now in real time. The politicians are polling it and going with mob rule. We knew they had no principles. This is proof #3283 of that.

      4. Well, it may not matter what the majority want. In Australia, truckers have warned the population to stock up on food to last for a week or two. They plan to block all roadways into the cities starting Aug 31. If they are taken seriously, store shelves will be empty well before month end. If the roads are blocked food and fuel will not get to the cities. What then?

        The cops are planning to tow the rigs immediately. But so what? the truckies have only to park their rigs to stop the movement of food and fuel. Check mate!!

    3. Everything is essential if it requires freedom. Only very stupid Canadians place no value on freedom. Have I mentioned that our fathers and grandfathers fought and died for “FREEDOM”, what an evil country, and people this shit hole called Canada has become. . I had never thought that in my life I would possess more knowledge and be smarter than 90 % of my so called fellow Canadians. Any equivocation regarding individual freedom is unacceptable. I agree that taking the shots were likely not useful, except for possibly reducing severity, as well as being a dangerous experiment, with some immediate and, likely, with unknown long-term side-effects. We all know that PCR test “cases” are nonsense. And thank God that the gulag hotels have been shut down!

        Not all of us are just stupid sheep; some are smart sheep. My decision to get jabbed 2x was based on an evaluation of all of the conflicting “non-facts”, with thanks to Kate’s and company’s great coverage of this issue, plus my personal self-interest and limited freedom. I wear a mask in stores, as I have no time for “Karens”, but have no problem with people who choose to rebel!

        Early on, the inevitable could be seen in Europe. It was clear that “vaccine passports” were coming for international travel. I have a seasonal golf home in a safe, small community in the U.S. and I want to winter there, as well as travel to other locations. My offspring are in their 40’s, so I do not have to be concerned about the “vac” effects on unborn children. If I were 20 or 30, I may have made a different choice. So, I chose “the travel ticket option”. I have to die of something, sometime, and my lifestyle would not pass “inspection” anyway, as I like to smoke, drink wine and eat red meat on the golf patio. Quite a few of my “healthy” friends are gone now, yet I am still here, trying to be as free as I can, while living with the “ban everything we hate” woke folks.

        What were the alternatives? Write useless letters? A protest? Call my Liberal MP, Hedy Fry, for whom I have never voted? Sorry, I was a long-term Albertan, always conservative from a young age, who has never done protests or supported causes of any sort. The Student Union Building at U of Calgary was used for lunch, socializing and drinking beer, not lining up for “activist cause” meetings.

        Some of us are not stupid nor brain dead, but realize that we have imported a lot of people from collectivist countries who can out-vote those of us whose brave ancestors came to Canada in 1817-1830 and moved west as pioneers. Now we also have two generations of frightened brain-washed children, who think the environment is changing (yes, a bit, but we should be happy not be alive in an ice age in North America); and people are responsible (yes, a bit due to too many people messing up some small areas). My boyfriend is a geologist. Not any of them buy into gloom and doom.

        My self-interest is managing a trend that I can personally do nothing about, as we are run by terrible politicians (mostly activists at the municipal level) and badly-validated “polls” pretending to reflect opinions of the great unwashed. I cheer on all the anti-lockdown groups, who have more youth and energy. I have zero problem with any of the “unvaxed” and would happily have them to a no-mask BBQ with hugs.

    Went to FINZ (Marina/Restaurant), in Blind Bay for Dinner- an annual thing with the crew we go with alongside a cpl of my best friends who live there.     Am booked at our Campsite for next year….but may well cancel if VidVaxPorts are required to remain ALIVE.

      I’m in Ontario — cost $75 to have it done. Not sure if it is available everywhere or what it costs elsewhere.

      I was sure I would be positive as I think I had COVID early on at the beginning of the pandemic – felt like a cold that persisted for three or so weeks, but nothing serious. My test came back negative.

      You can pay for the test, but I guess there is no guarantee that they will give you the true results.

      2. I believe there was a particularly nasty cold/flu circulating early in 2020 that many people, including myself & everyone in my household, contracted. Knocked us on our backsides for a couple of days, wasn’t at all pretty. But (unfortunately?) it likely wasn’t COVID. Nobody lost taste or smell, for instance.

        Along those lines, Karl Deninger, a blogger I read fairly often, contracted COVID recently and he too had that nasty bug early in 2020. He said that there’s NO confusing the two, but also that the 2020 bug kicked his ass a lot worse than COVID has. YMMV of course.

          Karl suspected the 2020 bug he got was H1N1 and was much more brutal on him.

    2. Anti-body testing is available in Canada as I had one done in Montreal before travelling. I was wondering if I had had the dreaded virus that you might have had and not noticed. That was 2 months ago and was neg as no anti-bodies.

      On August 3rd I did become infected ( Delta they say ) as did many on the Offshore worksite in Nigeria. By far most of the infections were full Vax people and ya its no fun but I have had worse cases of the Flu but this one hangs with you.. Still tired and no smell ( not a bad thing over here sometimes:-) but working again.

      Back to the Anti-bodies I was honestly hoping for sometime to get the Virus so get the anti-bodies and get it over with.
      Travelling to most countries the proof and anti-bodies from previous infection is equal to full Vax as you can enter most countries with no quarantine or PCR test. I will be returning to Bananada in a few days and when I checked ArriveCan having been previously infected and having anti-bodies is not worth anything.. you are non vax trash and do the quarantine.. I have to go there for less than 2 weeks for family then will flee back to Estonia.. and feel free again.. No PCR and no quarantine.. and not have to see Blackie’s face or hear his voice..
      And yes I will vote before leaving.     1. I think people who oppose mandates and passports will relocate to free states and provinces. The reverse might also happen and those who like an all powerful government will move to authoritarian states and provinces. This will certainly change the political landscape quite dramatically.

      I’m still considering South Dakota if Saskatchewan starts to go down the authoritarian road. I suspect they are starting to go there considering that the government is allowing the publicly funded universities and polytechnic college to mandate (force) shots on staff and students.

        We too are considering SD (I’ve spent lots of time in Sioux Falls) as my company would like me to relocate to the USA. Except, they want me to move to the Bay area which ain’t going to happen. On the other hand, will it matter where you live if you cannot be employed by a multinational company anyway unless you are jabbed? This is insidious.

        It really pains me to say this, because my adult kids are jabbed, but the only thing that will save us is if/when those that have taken the multitude of boosters that are inevitable start to fall seriously ill or worse. When it happens to someone else, it is just a statistic that can be easily dismissed, but when it gets personal, minds are changed. The pendulum is continuing to move in the wrong direction, for how long we do not know, but when it shifts, and it will, there is not a government, drug company, etc that can stop it and it will get very ugly.

The reasons for a move to a place without mandates and domestic passports, besides a philosophical need for freedom, is for our kids future.           3. We’re in that boat too, where we might be retiring a little earlier than planned, if the Corp mandates everyone takes the shot. We will then walk away instead, and while there will be a financial hit to some degree, our health, and purity is more important than the cytotoxic mRNA mixture.
            I don’t care what the apparatchiks say, or any politician, they know shite. They don’t know what the safety of this is, after 5 years.

For over a decade I lived in an abusive marriage where my compliance to the abuser was based in the fear, hate, dismissiveness, coercive control. It took me a long time to have the strength of mind and body to leave. Of course the abuse continued and even to this day it still trickles but that persons control over me was lost. I’m sad for the people who believe the lies. I am sad that they drink the fear. Even more I am sad that it could take over a decade for people to gain enough strength to leave. I want at least one person with a functioning brain to tell me why I cannot be free again? I am an old man who is unwilling to live what is left of my life with a government boot in my face.
    That said, prove to me with your dissertation, that this flu is killing more people than the seasonal flu ever did. Stats can numbers do not say it has. 823 die everyday from all causes. Adjusted for population increases, there is no increase in the average death rate.
