  1. The essay wasn’t a put down of Obama’s character but more of a “why did you let us down?” lamentation. It didn’t really get into that Obama was just another politician at the trough, which is more accurate. Despite writing about Obama, the author still had to take a swipe at Trump. That took all credibility away from the author.

On another note, the most recent Hello Canada issue for sale at the grocery store was all gaga over the Obama birthday bash and middle finger to the proles.

  2. I always thought that throwing yourself a birthday party was a bit gauche. Obama has become a caricature. Narcissus would be envious.

    1. One would think that, under the circumstances and with a modicum of class, Obama would elect for a quiet birthday celebration at home with the family.

      But no.

As you said, Mr. Orson, gauche.

  3. If you didn’t know he was a two bit Chicago hustler five minutes after he showed up on the national stage you aren’t smart enough to live in a representative republic.

  4. MikeT, agreed about Taibbi’s piece. Lament of the broken-hearted.

I doubt very much whether anyone HERE ever fell for the Obama illusion. EVERYTHING about the guy is fake, as Bubba Clinton once famously said.

Everything about Obama and the Dunhams screamed “The Company”. His Whitehouse website bio was right out of central casting. “Rising up from the poverty of a mid-west farming family”, blah blah… His poverty-stricken farming grandmother was in reality the senior VP of the Bank of Hawaii, an institution useful for laundering money for “The Company”. His maternal grandfather ran a “used furniture store” although he never seemed to work at, and never kept regular hours, funny that. But grandpa he did have lots of time to keep company in the back with Frank Marshall Davis. And to show up at military airports when “The Company” was flying in new prospects from its Africa recruitment program.

I always wondered how Americans could be so brainwashed as to believe the Obama hoax. He couldn’t even his own auto-biography. Bill (The Weather Underground) Ayres was given that creative writing assignment.

    1. Not just the grandparents. Obama’s putative father, mother and stepfather were all strongly “Alphabet Soup” adjacent as well.

  5. Even though Trump didn’t enter politics to get rich, in fact he hurt his reputation and probably his business dealings too by running as a republican, Taibbi still calls him a pig. Even when criticizing Obama, one of the most corrupt and dishonest democrats ever (and it’s a tight race), he can’t help but try to drag Trump down to Obama’s level. Sickening.

  6. Perhaps the telling excerpt, “Right out of the gate, Obama’s signature bill was built atop the exact slimeball game-playing, with the exact slimeball players, he pledged to avoid.”

Some obviously saw through the deception before he was even elected. I met a working class woman from North Dakota in 2016 who had personally met, and detested him. Good instincts, that.

The liberal parody theme song applies, yet again…

  7. Followed by Pelosi’s 30k/plate maskless dinner party.

    Think there’s a message somewhere?

  8. I have visions of hundreds, nay, thousands, who Barry and Mike left off their invitation list, grieving, mourning, rending their garments at not being allowed into his presence.

So when is Prinz Dummkopf going to have his blow-out “I freely micturate upon the masses” booze-up at Harrington Lake?

    1. This is Canada; there is little pretence required here that our betters should pretend to be our equals.

Accordingly, the old man gave us the finger (literally) 40 years ago, for daring to interrupt his private rail summer vacation with Junior. I don’t see that Junior behaves any differently.

There’s never a derailment when you need one.

  9. All the signs were there but liberals blatantly ignored it. Frankly, I don’t think they wanted to know. I mean, grab a clue. His very sketchy past…”Bathhouse Barry”…his relationship with Bill Ayers and Rev.Wright. Nope, actually, they went out of their way to smear anyone who even whispered such things.

Fast forward 10 years and there’s President Huckster waving to the chumps who made it all happen from his $15M ocean side estate.
Hilarious. And they’re still defending him. I thought Stephen Colbert was going to fellate him on national TV during his interview.
    Good Grief.
