Here’s were CDC statement that it needs multiple testing as to tell the difference between influenza and Covid.
CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season.
So, this shows that influenza was included in the Covid testing and now they’re looking to separate the two.
Mind you, they’re certainly alot more viruses that misses as well.
That’s why they need much more advancement in testing.
No actually it was never included. Thats the point. The newer tests also test for influenza and can tell which subtype. Much more efficient in a hospital setting.
The CDC PCR test has NO SENSITIVITY to influenza.
I have absolutely no idea how you can conclude it does from their statement. Read it carefully.

They are switching to a combined test so they can detect and identify the flu virus as well.
If you have Wuhan antibodies the PCR tests give a false positive. Will the new tests be any better?
