Now that the people of Cuba are protesting, demanding freedom, the Leftists in America and elsewhere don’t know what to do with themselves. The smarter ones amongst them know that the snake oil they’ve been pitching leads to the same gulag-like reality that is Cuba.

Socialists look in the mirror and lie to themselves that they are good people. They then assume that socialism will work, if they can only “educate” enough of the masses to be Good People like them. Obviously some eradication is part of the process.
Free Marketers are more often realists, as are true Christians. (Emphasis on True.)
They know that they have good tendencies and bad ones.
That is why the “carrot and stick” method of free markets works so well…it lines up with human nature as it really is, not how academics deceive themselves and others out of their own arrogance.
Those are the ideologues. Then there are simply the power addicts, as we all know. Trotsky vs Stalin.
But no matter what the motive, Socialism always shipwrecks on the rocks of Human Nature…either the lust for Power, Control, and Compliance on the part of the rulers, or the inevitable lack of motivation on the part of the Ruled. It may take a generation or two, but you cannot defeat the “God’s of the Copybook Headings” as a wiser man than I once penned.
Leftists hate History. It is the lab which shows their Noble Experiment does not work. And because their basic presuppositions of human nature are wrong, they cannot figure out why, they are angry and perplexed.
The other reason they can’t figure this out is because they presume that God is supposed to give them things they want.
When inevitably God won’t deliver they either deny God’s existence or they call on the other one’s surrogates, Marx, Alinsky, Antifa, BLM, Liberal Party, to get them the nice things they want.
They fail to grasp that God already gave them the greatest gift of all, freedom to live their lives as God wish they would or try and fail by man’s way.
God will give one thing for the asking, spiritual salvation, the other stuff, the mental and the physical are what he gave us the freedom to determine on our own.
You know? How you act and what you think.
Of course this takes character and it is a bit of work.

When you listen to them talking in this country, they avoid talking about where do they get the money to shower it on the proletariat.
It is rather simple add subtract multiply and divide, a wholly foreign concept to the socialists and other ‘ists.
In former socialist countries of central Europe, the communist run socialism managed to survive longer depending on how prosperous were those countries before the communist takeover.
None the less, the communists and their socialist helpers inevitably crashed the economy and bankrupted their countries.
The change came when the big dog crashed first, then it was like line of dominoes…….
What’s interesting is that the millennials and those that follow have zero idea how socialism and other ‘isms work and what’s the result.

Why socialism should be the ideal system can be explained in about 5 minutes to a 5th grader, and talks a lot about human kindness and how good we all are. That’s part of why every new “Socialist Paradise” is greeted with such gusto.
Why it has failed every single time is best taught by experience. Teammates not pulling their weight. Others taking credit for your work (or you getting ahead by taking credit for theirs). Unequal workloads. Unequal distribution of goods (unrelated to workload). Schemers undermining and dreamers not doing much of the productive work at all. Many see huge success under capitalism as a “right place, right time” co-incidence, not recognizing the hundreds of hours of learning and work needed before the “right time” in order for there to be any chance that they’re in the right place (with the right skills).
Those who cannot see the invisible hand never understand hot important it is to holding a functioning economy together.
I can encapsulate the difference between capitalism and socialism very easily.
Capitalism is an economic process that happens because people want a roof over their heads and food to eat.
Socialism is a political theory that was created to limit capitalism and those two benefits.

My attempt at that same reduction would be: Capitalism says that two people who want to trade things are smart enough to make a deal on their own where each thinks that they benefit. Socialism says that the producers aren’t smart enough, and that the socialist referee deserves a payment from both sides for deciding how to keep things “fair” (regardless of what the producers of the two products think). Why socialism will fail is that the “referee” class will become greedier and greedier (human nature), and keep demanding larger shares of an ever smaller economy (because why work hard or longer when there’s no benefit).
When have the leftists ever conceded that communism doesn’t work?
