Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The Russians have a bad habit of “human error” eliciting massive catastrophes. Centralized State Governments always blame human error for their experimentation.
You mean like trying to make Lakes using Nuclear testing?
They certainly are far smarter in ignoring this global warming crap and take full advantage of our absence of leadership.
When you have a reliable supplier of fuel, you don’t look for cheaper suppliers who have iffy delivery service.
Jojo: The Russians don’t have an exclusive lock on the “oopsies”! In the 60’s, our gooberment decided to shake the natural gas underground near Rifle, Colorado loose using underground nuclear blasts.
What they succeeded in doing was making underground glass jugs (radioactive, naturally) and zones where legitimate gas production is now prohibited. (Pro tip, how do you make glass underground? Expose sandstone to a couple million degrees and PRESTO….glass!)
And six legged wild boars roam the countryside around the infamous and now retired OTHR (over the horizon radar) site and the infamous and now retired nuclear power plant which provided power for both the OTHR and infamous and now abandoned nearby city. At least their vodka is halfway decent … well, some of it is.
And there’s always the scent of freshly cooked bacon in the air.
By the way, the over-the-horizon radar site in the vicinity of Chernobyl as been designated as a national historic site.
In the early 1980s, I, and many other radio enthusiasts, had to endure the rapid pulsing signals (which we nicknamed “the Woodpecker”) on the bands. After the nuclear incident, we never heard the transmissions out of that site stopped.
Communism and disaster go hand in hand. The first thought of a worker isn’t how do I do this right, but who gets the blame when it can’t be covered up and it all goes to hell.
Yes the Ruskies make some good stuff, especially military gear, but often not up to the NATO standard, with corners cut.
Compare the F86 Sabre to its near twin in capability, the MiG-15. Similar looking too, except one has great lines, the other not.
I heard it said US pilots would never have accepted the MiG-15, but were quite happy to shoot it down with with their Sabres.
I wonder if it ended up being ‘a billion for Boris’…?! You need to say it in thick Rooshian accent, tovarishi…
